The burnt remains of the wickets of the first game, or a really important game...
Fought back is a fair description, it wasn't handed to them on a plate. Our team was super pissed off about it. Sure it's only a draw in a dead rubber, but they held on. Credit for at least pissing our team off.
I don't regularly watch the cricket, but I did get sucked in and watch some of it. I think it was Adelaide and the English fought back for a draw. So it wasn't totally one sided.
All the other tennis players have to be vaccinated or have a valid medical exemption, I think we threw one of the women out last week and she just went quietly.
If we hypothetically take on board the loony crap that vaccines are a bad thing, then he would consider himself to have an unfair advantage over those he would've competed against.
He's dodged the 3 year exclusion period that ordinary people get, which explains why he hasn't made a big hissyfit speech. I'm sure we're not the only country rejecting germ farmers.
Sometimes, I suck air noisily through my teeth, run my thick stumpy fingers through my greasy mullet, then shake my head and think- It's not easy these days.
Trollop? I haven't heard that used conversationally since about 1981, and then it was an old man saying it.
But getting back to short messages, one time I was trying to tune up this bird on the internet, but I really didn't have anything to say or any great interest... So I just asked if she likes bread (borrowed from a poster here)... She;s completely flipped out, called me all sorts of names, reckons just because she's carrying a bit of weight doesn't mean she's hooking into the bread 24/7, blah blah blah.
So I learnt that day, short messages can backfire.
We hear so much about "big pharma", usually not in a positive light.
However, we witness at the supermarkets the first thing people panic buy is toilet paper.
We had toilet paper factories mothballed pre covid due to lack of demand, then they're up and running again 24/7 to meet demand.
I'm no wizz investor at all, but I did accurately predict the price would crash and they'd be heavily discounting it. The same will happen again. All those silly people proudly displaying their overpriced jumbo pack in the carpark will sure have egg on their faces when the crash comes.
Be good if some loony can formulate a paranoid conspiracy theory about lizard people running Big Toilet Paper, or if Bill Gates could buy a toilet paper factory to wind the loonies up a bit. Be funny as.
The ATP does not dictate border policy, Maybe you're confusing them with the AFP. The AFP don't run tennis games, but you do see them at places like airports.
I'm sorry I have no answer for the Nuremburg code or whatever, usually... well always really, when people bring second world war Germany stuff into it, they've totally run out of ideas.
I don't think it makes us look weak as a country, but certainly our processes. The same hotel has dozens we've said no to, that won't leave. For years... And a tennis player can turn up and make his own rules? And be out in days?
Conspiracy theories are not my thing, but surely some palms have been lubricated somewhere along the way..
RE: TENNIS
The only athlete? Not true at all. We chucked out a Czech (I think) woman tennis player for exactly the same reason.
