What is your purpose in life?

She shoots...she scores!peace

Precisely why we need to look within...to tap into our natural abilities and determine what a truly edifying existence means.

Aspiring to true mental/concious liberation!wine

Being happy before making anybody else happy.

Or words to that effect.

Do you believe that concept? That one must be in a state of personal fullfillment before it can be assumed we could ever contribute to anybody elses happiness?

Personally, I find it an empty and ill conceived concept...deeply burdensome and ultimately, restrictive.

That's not to say I totally dismiss the principle of personal responsibility in these matters, but hell, I'm hoping to end up with my very delightful BETTER HALF!

So yes, I want to be more agreeable to her...to be relatively 'sorted'...to be reaching out for personal peace.

But, and this is where the problem arises for me, I know I'm only going to attain a certain fullfilling level of happiness and contentment with my soulmate!

What think you?wine

Being aware of the issues...thinking...considering...mulling over...it all helps us to percieve our current state.

Honesty and candour with ourselves will allow us to make wise choices and grow as sentient beings.wine

What is your purpose in life?

What drives you on to achieve? What goals do you have for yourself?

Why have you come to certain conclusions regarding your aspirations?

Do you believe the society you currently live amongst is geared towards personal fullfillment and some sort of happiness?

RE: True Love ...

True love is selfless...nurturing...patient...does not react to provocation...seeks the good...and gives unceasingly.

True love never fails when it is fed and watered by two responsible, humble people.

It's grandeur edifies all who look upon it with appreciative hearts!smitten

RE: WHEN WE EXPERIENCE 'CONNECTION' WHAT R WE EXPERIENCING??

Mmmm...I'm inclined to believe in the psychological elements as the determining factor here, although all could play a part ultimately.

I suppose, if all of those elements DID coalesce, you'd have yourself a soulmate par excellence!smitten

Outlook...mutual comfort in sharing personal thoughts...sense of humour...maybe even a sort of creative tension?

Affinity is a strange, multi-faceted thing...I need to admire people and respect certain elements of their being.

Even though having increasingly Christian sensibilities, I can totally see where you're coming from Ray.

I'm no nihilist or pessimist, but I have a healthily philosophical attitude to life where possible and try not to allow unreal expectations get the better of me so as to leave my conciousness floating in the clouds.laugh

Men certainly don't do themselves any favours it has to be said...I would imagine it's seen as something of a success when you get an e-mail consisting of proper sentence structure, decent grammar and fair content!laugh

Why is it...

...do you think so many take this forum business so seriously?

I mean, we saw several pretty vicious threads last night...lots of nasty comments besides also.

Is it really worth all of the emotional expenditure...and to portray ourselves as so petulant and petty!roll eyes

Also, just an observation here...but why is it mainly women who get involved in all this stuff?confused

I mean, if we have a beef with somebody, it strikes me as obvious to sort it out via private e-mail...or just drop it completely. Why construe ill intent when often we just don't truly know the people we're interacting with unless we really take the time to get to know them?

Interested in your thoughts you fascinating bunch!cheers

RE: If love is the answer could you repeat the question?

Mark, just say it man...women go through the gullible chicken phase in their 20's before some mature into ladies thereafter!professor
