The Heavens don’t fall, the Earth falls because we are incorrigibly curved by gravity. We will end up back where we started although creation is boundless.
Hippy protestors leaving Hyde Park covered in litter and Starbucks coffee cups encapsulates the spirit of the New Age. Screw up the planet and kick your mother into a nursing home, love is all you need.
And not to mention Buddhist hell - which we don’t in the New Age - which is a tame paradise compared to every other hell. What an underlying threat of violence that is, the ultimate scare story the cruelest and most macabre situation imagined by the mind of man.
I contend that the now generation and new age beliefs exaggerate the cycles - greater credit with bigger debt, larger booms and deeper busts because it plunders the moment for what it’s worth. That passive stagnant response to the outside world motored by your own sense of self-satisfaction seems to be a blank cheque and a violation of the most human desire of all - building a better life for your kids.
New age beliefs make perfect sense if you’re planning a comfortable life where you leave your society much worse than you found it.
I suppose it’s the ends justify the means, whatever you’ve got is what you deserve therefore if you’re spoilt and entitled karma says you earned it - driving at the real reason for the western infatuation with the east - but if you inherit winter then you too deserve it.
And it makes sense in a way because it’s not like you can time travel to another where people never had it so good. It’s just that the karmic entitlement of never had it so good will lead to living beyond your means and taking the credit for what isn’t yours until you live your whole life on credit.
A Down syndrome baby cursed itself because of sins committed in a past life and you’re supposed to pity it(or is it empathy or sympathy? The pathy’s sound nicer) . In Buddhism people around you should treat you like you’ve done wrong if you’re disabled that there’s something to forgive because you’ve cursed yourself with bad energy.
More than this Hinduism punishes the son for the sins of the father for certain and Buddhism is not exactly free from this. The cosmos might make your child sick as a means to punish you.
Like getting someone pregnant when you didn’t want to. Buddhism is the voice which plucks you up and tells you how it’ll all work out to be a good thing later. Character building grandad would have called it but then you don’t want to be like the orient with its despots, kamikaze and villages in China that are there one day and gone the next. Life on Earth isnt that expendable.
You’re a people on the up likely to leave the country better than you found it.
But the modern world is weird and the west is the weirdest place in it. To do what doesn’t come naturally is the end of the road for the modern world. The future has no future only the swelling ranks of the old and decrepit.
They like to complain about the little thing you should have done particularly when doing so was a lot of trouble. Buying the wrong jam from local shop because you couldn’t be bothered to travel far - the doors will suffer for that.
Abundance mentality. The point in affluence where the upper classes buy tat next to a ghetto coated in bling.
Scarcity mentality. The upper class person put his name on the tower above a ghetto pawning it’s bling to cover medical bills. Classic rich, dirt poor.
More significance will come when you can die and resurrect yourself inside the matrix. Or at least what appears to be yourself. Is the hologram really you? Anyway the fight between image is everything and the spiritual will be significant, the species may even spilt up over it.
It certainly is the most forgiving and flexible story in Christianity. Easter symbolises the end of gods active and direct influence on the earth, you’re on your own now. Better you all stick together through the Holy Spirit.
America’s capitalist religion(CINO - Christian In Name Only)is part of this leeway. You’re on your own now so every man for himself. I contend that Easter allows CINO to happen for better or worse.
On the contrary Jesus died for our sins. The leeway of easter was and remains the license to be free, one can't underestimate the philosphical importance of god ascending to the heavens and leaving his followers to be governed by the holy spirit. Atheists, liberals and scientists in the west stem from this freedom in religion, as unfrotunately so does the squalor.
More of a general point about how the surveillance state makes people more suspicious and less honest. In a confession booth it's just you and the priest and that's kind of the point. Surveillance will catch people out but it will also drive people into hiding, hiding in plain sight.
I don't like it. Prison is full of scumbags or at least it should be. Keep the children out of prison and don't send mum to jail for small and twatty offences.
I bless you madly, Sadly as I tie my shoes I love you badly, Just in time, at times, I guess Because of you I need to rest Because it's you That sets the test
So much has gone And little is new And as the sparrow sings Dawn chorus for Someone else to hear The Thinker sits alone growing older And so bitter
"I gave Them life I gave Them all They drained my very soul ...Dry I crushed my heart To ease their pains No thought for me remains there Nothing can they spare What of me? Who praised their efforts To be free? Words of strength and care And sympathy I opened doors That would have blocked their way I braved their cause to guide, For little pay
I ravaged at my finance just for those Those whose claims were steeped in peace, tranquility Those who said a new world, new ways ever free Those whose promises stretched in hope and grace for me"
I bless you madly, Sadly as I tie my shoes I love you badly, just in time, At times, I guess Because of you I need to rest, oh yes Because it's you That sets the test So much has gone And little is new And as the sunrise stream Flickers on me, My friends talk Of glory, untold dream, where all is God and God is just a word
"We had a friend, a talking man Who spoke of many powers that he had Not of the best of men, but ours We used him We let him use his powers We let him fill our needs Now we are strong
And the road is coming to its end Now the damned have no time to make amends No purse of token fortune stands in our way The silent guns of love Will blast the sky We broke the ruptured structure built of age Our weapons were the tongues of crying rage
Where money stood We planted seeds of rebirth And stabbed the backs of fathers Sons of dirt
Infiltrated business cesspools Hating through our sleeves Yea, and we slit the Catholic throat Stoned the poor On slogans such as 'Wish You Could Hear' 'Love Is All We Need' 'Kick Out The Jams' 'Kick Out Your Mother' 'Cut Up Your Friend' 'Screw Up Your Brother or He'll Get You In the End'
And we know the flag of love is from above And we can force you to be free And we can force you to believe"
And I close my eyes and tighten up my brain For I once read a book in which the lovers were slain For they knew not the words of the Free States' refrain It said: "I believe in the power of good I believe in the state of love I will fight for the right to be right I will kill for the good of the fight for the right to be right"
And I open my eyes to look around And I see a child laid slain On the ground As a love machine lumbers through desolation rows Plowing down man, woman, listening to its command But not hearing anymore Not hearing anymore Just the shrieks from the old rich
And I want to believe In the madness that calls 'Now' And I want to believe That a light's shining through Somehow
And I want to believe And you want to believe And we want to believe And we want to live Oh, we want to live
We want to live We want to live We want to live We want to live We want to live
I want to live I want to live I want to live I want to live I want to live I want to live
Live Live Live
David Bowie's 1969 despair at political correctness and baby boomers. An old soul in a young man's body I also grew disillusioned with liberals by age 19, I wish I could predict the decades to come in a song.
RE: Are you Desperate for a Guy / Gal in your life?
Act any way to get any girl I want? Sounds great but I’d never be able to carry it off.
