RE: RULES...Something to ponder...

It's a different time now and although I love David Bowie I'm not from that generation of too big to fail. The mistakes my parents made would ruin me in my lifetime, I consider myself in that quarter of millennials I term the neo-sensible. From the baby boomers we'd like to take David Bowie and reject the squalor. Anti-squalor and anti-parasite with a renewed interest in order. Children of the revolution can see it's not all David Bowie.

RE: Come to God before is too late

The catholic church adapts by harvesting the souls of a million peasants. It changes with the times just enough to survive whilst depressing the times as much as possible, so people turn to god.

RE: American Politics belong on the USA forums

There are people who vote at national level based on which party built the local roundabout and they should have their own forum.

RE: Come to God before is too late

A rose by any other name would smell as sweet was the license to become an Atheist Jesus. Shakespeare kicked off the modern world with that observation, and postmodernism overstates it to the point where all our names and words and symbols become meaningless, but I digress. A good man of no religion is a plausible idea..

RE: We all have opinions! - Do you want it made into Law? - If you had the option?

Anything even resembling a woman has this effect of making men more selfish and competitive than who they really are

Between the years of 1979 and 1990 Britain was ruled by a transvestite and by the end of that period half the country believed in greed is good. Actual patriarchy never said greed is good.

RE: We all have opinions! - Do you want it made into Law? - If you had the option?

Feminism plays a part in the breakdown of consensus too.

Not for the women per se but the effect women’s lib has on men. Perhaps 20% of men behave the same when women are around - and they’re normally gays and alpha males. 80% of men become overexcited by the presence of women - more selfish, more competitive, more foolish, more reckless and more gullible 80% of men become less reasonable when women are allowed out.

RE: We all have opinions! - Do you want it made into Law? - If you had the option?

Money and good times make people more selfish and this eventually clashes with the idea that other people are just as important as you and that their vote is worth as much as yours.

Liberal democracy and free society gets rich because it allows talent to emerge. We wouldn’t get these marvellous creations if we still lived under the Ancien Regime but those marvellous creations spoil you in the end, reliance on comfort and technology mean you can no longer work or even live with anybody else. Connectingsingles is a hallmark of this social death.

RE: We all have opinions! - Do you want it made into Law? - If you had the option?

The period we refer to as the post-war consensus was what it takes for a democracy to work.

We remember back then as a golden age when in actuality today is the dark age and the good old days are simply what is required. A basic decency and understanding that you can’t always get what you want. This concept of consensus was maintained(in Britain)ever since the working class got the vote and it’s true to say that both today and the 1930s are the exception to the rule. Partisanship is a political civil war in every way, shape and form the opposite of the good old days.

RE: We all have opinions! - Do you want it made into Law? - If you had the option?

Or at least the law should be the established consensus of opinion. If you’re a Liberal Democrat.

The divine right of kings or political correctness are not liberal or democratic. Individual and minority rule - rule by an educated class of higher “quality” voters - is not sustainable when people hate everything they believe in.

RE: My pet greyhound bit me on the nose last year!!

You work next to the powder keg if you think it’s safe. The rest of us have too much to live for to not deem Pedro a burden of the state.

RE: KATE HUDSON IS MENTALLY ILL

She’ll love that child less when it grows up usual.

And if I was gay or transgender I could understand why my parents would not want me to be. They want a better life for their kids and transgender particularly is not this although of course you make the best of a bad situation. Under the strong likelihood that my brain matches my biology I could never understand parents who want me to be transgender and sterile and ten times more likely to kill myself.

RE: How grandchildren perceive their grandparent

On one side of the family there’s an evil genius, I genuinely believe my Nan is a sociopath. Grandma on the other hand was a saint, 1 in a million.

RE: KATE HUDSON IS MENTALLY ILL

What happens when the designer baby doesn’t collobarote with the design?

The kid will see who you really are, not what you say you are. Parents have genders and who you really are will be the role model, this is weak parenting for many kids in the interest of a few misfits.

RE: Owners who are low education, no skill of work, do not deserve to get paid well from life insurance

Go to far the western way however and you end up with entitled little snowflakes who cannot tell why the doctors time is worth more than that of the toilet cleaner. Huge cash handouts in the civil courts to people with more money than sense because you feel entitled to a million dollars by being alive. These people are the reason we can’t have nice things anymore.

And its the balance. A human life has value but not to the point where it devalues doing anything with your life.

RE: Owners who are low education, no skill of work, do not deserve to get paid well from life insurance

Although I realise that “someone’s life” and “free time” are relatively unimportant concepts in the Far East. It’s difficult to put a dollar value on a human life but in the hive that’s about $10, and if the human life itself is worth $10 the loss of earnings make all the difference.

RE: Owners who are low education, no skill of work, do not deserve to get paid well from life insurance

I’d set a general amount for ruining your life and then add for loss of earnings. In my logic it would cost more to ruin a yuppies career than it would a nearly retired builder although the difference wouldn’t be astronomical. Both of their free time is valued equally.

RE: Notice......!!

The obvious. We miss the obvious particularly when we are happy.

RE: Why? Why?

In general women like to negate age/experience because they contain the will to shelter. Each and every experience diminishes her, weathered is not her.

But man is weathered. Boys are loved for what they promise to be more than what they are. As a man you’re born with little value and add your own value through doing things with your life, a woman is born the most valuable and depreciates over time. Man is expendable and woman is perishable. Under femininity life has a value because it exists and under masculinity life has a value because of its experience, what it has done.

RE: to foriengers,do you feel face blind?

And there are apps which will never be invented because of Donald Trump, the 19th century understanding that the US constitution does NOT apply to the whole earth is returning. America is choosing social life over its gimics and if MAGA is successful it will be a country of fewer, better options. No American alive today has experience with anything other than being spoilt for choice, for many years the motif has been to downgrade chemistry in order to maximise production and consumer choice.

The belief was that human beings are fungible. To belong everywhere and nowhere the idea that you can take every individual on earth and turn him into an extremely versatile spare part for the system. It would be very efficient if this was the way people are but it's not, they have invented computers and anything that does not compute - i.e. human nature - is now disregarded. They diagnosed human nature as a barrier to commerce and seek to destroy it. It's not the new socialist man they are creating, it's the new capitalist man - the man with no friends or family or country or god or any other loyalty apart from his loyalty and dependence on the system. To annihilate community and self-sufficiency in every way, shape and form so that everything is a trade.

RE: to foriengers,do you feel face blind?

Amongst foreigners being only after one thing increases. Personality and humour find the lowest common denominator, the many sides of you go unseen all the stars in the sky look very similar because of our distant perspective here on earth. One-dimension of personality replaces all others and diverse society defaults on the atmosphere of a three star hotel, that distance/difference from one another is the reason that facets vanish and the dimension defaults into a one-size fits all level of business rapport. Nobody really likes anybody anymore, but let's be professional and not kill one another - that's the ethos of diversity. You won't have any friends but you will have therapists, paying people to listen will become all the more usual because no one wants to know. Diversity helps to transform human relations into a commerce in the continued marketisation of everything. Birds of a feather is an enemy to this market of employed rapport and paid concern, the more damage can be done to the social fabric the more capitalists can capitalise on this. Building a society where the masses are naturally diverse and estranged from one another was a genius move on behalf of the bosses and bankers.

RE: Strange Fascination

Whether it's the Joker, Breaking Bad, Winter is coming or the sheer volume of instant justice/karma videos on Youtube it's darkness and schaudenfreude all the way.

The western world is two things - heavily engineered and declining. It's artificial and failing. Now there's an ever-thickening shield of numbness permeating our people - it's to wall themselves off from reality - and shock is the only way to penetrate it. That's what's going on.

RE: Strange Fascination

You have to consider that 'It's A Wonderful Life' was made in 1946 because it was 1946, the testing days of sacrifice and struggle lay in the past where anything popular today will reflect the opposite of that. It's A Wonderful Life was about the ethos of 1946, the story of a man climbing out of despair when today the story is about our own journey - a journey into the heart of darkness.

RE: Strange Fascination

The entire of western civilisation has that Gotham City quality to it. Dystopian with the utter failure of mainstream authority, even the hero is a dark character now I'm not saying all of our problems will be solved by projecting a luminious bat sign into the sky but in terms of personalities the fight lies between Batman and the Joker. Nice guys finish last when Winter is coming.

RE: Strange Fascination

We often see emotional cripples on here saying things like "only mix with those who give you positive energy" and the joker is a reaction to the navel-gazing of these positivity weirdoes. Human beings are complex and the way they deny all our depths to raise productivity/morale is creating these repressed pissed off feelings and the sense that society can not work, if you can't contend with the negative then it won't.

There's a mildly autistic and isolated elite and sub-elite meditating their way through a world falling apart around them, the belief is that money can sustain paid nice indefinitely.

RE: Blue Monday

The most miserable man I ever worked with always use to complain that "good" weather meant warm and sunny there was nothing like he liked more than a miserable day. Happiness burned him like the sun and I wonder if today is the best day of the year for the depressed.

RE: Hospitality

Perhaps we're paid to behave in an artifical way - polite is artificial - so much of the time that people won't do it for free anymore.
