The fundamentalists of Islam and Christianity and the extremes of politics that accommodate both should be rejected by anyone who knows how the west was won.
There are issue with globalism just as there was issues for Germany in the treaty of Versailles, but be careful what you unleash. Apocalyptic cults that cleanse by fire and talk of struggles spanning the millennia.

And it’s a bad thing because of the power this gives to incompetence. A priest-infected backwater coexisting with everything the modern world has to offer. I tend to go the other way believing that communication skills is all we’ll have. To have no skills apart from words.
2003 was the height of text speak I would argue that smartphones have increased literacy over the old mobile. The autocorrect creates the habit of seeing words spelt correctly and there’s a lot of this habit, people spend more time communicating than ever.
I contend that kids today will be witty and sharp with words and that’s about it. They’ll be better at that than our ancestors. It’s the walking, the breeding and fighting, the cooking and the cleaning which are the skills we won’t have. Rhetoric will thrive it’s anything practical that’s the concern.

Assuming the person has actually travelled and would still travel even if they could tell nobody, then lying around all day in the same old trousers is not the life for you. You're open to experience, that's what it means.
But I wouldn't treat it as gospel particularly when laziness is the reason you don't travel. Laziness can compensate by the fact it won't make a big deal out of things, that's the nature of lazy. Anyway it's simply not as bad as doing nothing out of fear or boring.
