It's the insurance premium for a policy that most of us didn't need or want. The 1%, can afford to spend this much dodging flu and we've been conscripted onto the same plan on a buy now, pay later basis. Time and time again they pretend covid was worse than it is to try and fool the proles into buying insurance. A multi-millionaire would spend this much on avoiding a 0.2% chance of death but the common man not so much.
Or go the other way and try to seem less single than you really are. Women prefer taken men for the same reason that buying a new fridge involves the community at large. Endorsement. I want whatever other women want. It's a group mind.
And the older we are the easier is to recover from losing a couple of years of your life. But losing age 7 to 9 is a different kettle of fish, those people are going to be changed by this for the rest of the century - and not in a good way.
Don't take the kids out of school, a doomed youth is the worst thing to happen in the pandemic. 5 million covid deaths amongst the old mean nothing next to the billion deranged children.

Buddhism doesn't have to be impractical far from it. Buddha, Rousseau and Socrates were all harbingers of the new world order.

You can only stop them vaccinating everyone by the damage it would do to themselves. You're not given human rights because it's the right way to treat a person, it's all the staff they'd lose.

You're not actually helping Prince Andrew with these vaccine mandates, Tom. It's feeding into a pretentious, useless defence of children that is entirely an elder issue. If you're saying they're 70 now it can very easily become 7 in another context. Whichever is the best ammunition for the parents cannot be the sole consideration.
But a 17 year old is 70 when it comes to vaccines. An infantilised world with an aging population finds itself saying one thing and then the other. Is a teenager 7 or are they 70? Neither, both. The ends always justify the means.
