And LF, the way Jim runs a class, it is a lot of fun. We laugh a lot, and it's very interactive. He drives around in a pick up truck with about 60 djembes in it for classes. Sells them, too.
Awesome ones! They always look like they're having so much fun! I wanted to learn this type of drum when I was little, but mom wouldn't let me. She said they were too noisy.
So, now I play the djembe, Native American drum, ocean drum and Tibetan shaman drum.
Seriously, I wanted to share a personal acquaintance who is a talented drummer, and blessed enough to enjoy it in a variety of ways. Drumming with him made me get my own djembe, and I have a blast when I play it.
The man in this video is a friend of mine and taught me to play the djembe...which is the next thing I'm going to find of his, right after I'm done enjoying this one.
It's never a "hypothetical question" when it involves a fellow forums member, and you know they're going to read it. You're not the first to make this mistake and be chastised for it, either. And if you ask the mods nicely, they just might pull it for you.
I've had two romances on here that haven't worked out. Neither of us took our drama public in either one. One remains active here in the forums, and we're friends still. The other left of his own volition for his own reasons, and if he returns I hope we'll also be able to remain friends.
But part of why we have is that none of us started a drama thread.
I think you need to work this out amicably privately, and not here in the forums, especially where you're only providing one side of the story and a good man can't defend himself without turning it into a nasty thread, which he's avoiding so far despite what you're doing here.
Is this the first time you haven't called them, or do you make a habit of not calling when you say you will? Did they tell you to call, or did you mutually agree to call?
One thing that's always funny is that we forget, as I did with my first response, that all stories have more than one side. A friend and I were talking about that last night, and apparently my memory is short...there are always three sides to any story. His, hers, and the truth.
Yes, and I've taught other women how to shoot defensively (there are ways to make sure you keep your gun, and draw fast and clean) and how to carry concealed when I was my county chapter's president for the Second Amendment Sisters.
I was raised that if you have to shoot, shoot to kill, 'cuz dead men don't tell lies, and taught how to shoot a revolver to protect my younger sisters and I when I started babysitting them at the age of 15.
Exactly! If they tell me to call around 9pm, and I'm not calling at 9pm sharp, they'd better not be sitting there watching the clock to see how long after 9 it is before I call and get huffy with me about it. That will make for a very short relationship!
I was heading the opposite way, that my choice would be to take the career-making shot. After all, I'm not risking my life to save some danged politicians lives.
Since it was only what type of film, I'd go with classic black and white since I think that captures the drama of such scenes better.
No, because all of it made me who I am today. I made these choices for a reason, and I'll follow through to see where this journey takes me. I look back on the path occasionally to see where I've been, but I keep my thoughts focused on the future and where I'm heading.
So true, Vixen! She's just had a bit of fun because of it, and gave us all a bit of fun too...nothing wrong with that. I don't mind a happy drunk or a silly drunk...just the nasty ones.
RE: For you drummer fans
Just remember why you're taking it.
