RE: Esse is percipi

That is like asking if you believe in Locard's exchange principle which is that any contact between a person and another person, place, or object leaves behind traces that could identify the person...
My answer to your question would be no. A physical perception of something is no guarantee that it is not an illusion or solid as we currently understand physics...

In that perspective, everything from eminent domain to a declaration of war is a violent act. Somewhere in the center of this argument is legislating mandatory automobile insurance, driver's licenses, polio vaccinations for kids and not being allowed to go naked in public and shooting people you don't like for people who don't choose to have anything to do with such amoral and exploitative institutions as banks, insurance companies and all Federal Government agencies when they can possibly help it.

RE: International Law Enforcement Operates in U.S.

Motives...a virtual beehive of possibilities; could be in plain sight but would the possibles be recognized?? One that immediatly comes to mind is that as the US is signatory to several international and acts and traties which have biding obligations. Some of those involve legal matters and have potentials for igniting volitile reactions. Could it be one possibility that perhaps the only way for a sense of and prosecution of judicial freedom as are called for by being signatory to the UN Charter , Declaration Of the Rights of Man, etc. and other judicial treaties with the world at large that the only effective manner in which to oblige those responsibilities is to simply but legally do an end run around the US Congress which would only prolong a needless but endless confrontations over which takes precedence: Treaty judicial matters or home grown obfuscation of those international obligations. Allowing Interpol to openly operate in the US is only legally acknowledging what has been going on for years anyway; does anyone seriously really think for one moment, that Interpol agents have not been tracking and going after criminals of various shades in the US all the years before WW2...(hell, both the English and the US even praised Interpol for having tracked wanted fugitives from justice during the time Reinhard Heindrick was Interpol Chief until his untimely death by Polish terrorists/ freedom fighters) Treaty obligations on an international scope do take precedence; if the US Congress objects, they can always throw a tantrum like an immature child and threaten to tear up the treaties, leaving the US in a virtual state of judicial isolation from the rest of the civilized world; and then what...
Motives?? Who really knows, but the presidential advisers and his legal advisers. Securing exemptions for Interpol has never been a problem for any country to date, There have even been the odd case of China co-operating with Interpol over the years both before and after the British gave up Hong Kong and control of it's police forces where the Tongs caused enormous problems for both powers. Let the dice roll; Interpol has an excellent record with all nations. (The office of Interpol in Switzerland...still in Geneva or have they finally moved it to Bern??? laugh wine )

RE: International Law Enforcement Operates in U.S.

We all know that Interpol has an anti-terrorist unit with intelligence gathering functions just as many other national police forces that also work in tandem with their own countries military intelligence. As some have tried to point out, Interpol does adhere to all the local/national laws be it strictly against criminal organizations, individuals or terrorist organizations. Interpol is subject to oversight by the judicial affairs dept. of the European Parliament and on a world wide operational mandate from the UN security council's anti terrorist intelligence section; a double system of checks and balances for all member nations of the UN. Certainly much better that the dozens of the black ops groups operating in and out of the US that are answerable to no one, let alone from any information on them from worried citizens filing freedom of information requests on a blanket basis as they can't even name the services that may be involved or even know what their mandates are; case in point, when was the last time that you or anyone has ever heard of a request for any alleged anti terrorist operation carried out by the National Atomic Energy Commission...they have a large intelligence gathering security and operational force. Based in Washington DC along with around 50 other intelligence services, most of which do not answer to the US congress which amused them to no end .(Being around 40-50 some when I lived there). By now, probably double that number in actuality. None had any use for or would ever consider co-operating with police.
The only objection that I can understand, to Interpol by the US is that of the issue of accountability in any acts considered a war crime, as Interpol's jurisdiction does include going after those who are suspected of or having committed war crimes as legally defined by the International Tribunal on War Crimes and the UN Commission on War Crimes. Americans do not believe that any of their citizens should ever be arrested for the commission of anything as ludicrous because they refuse to admit even to the possibility that one of their boys could do such a thing while at the same time thinking there can never be a war crime by any American because they only kill 'bad guys' and we all know, that 'bad guys' are supremely inferior to American boys...therefore, being of that mind set, then yes, Interpol could conceivably pose a threat to any American for being arrested on possible war crimes charges...hell, to even suspect such a thing is being 'anti God' and certainly anti-American! Then the old conundrum comes up: is it legal or ist it moral which takes precedence; can it be both legal and moral and not be denounced as 'anti-Americanism'. What happens to our very notions of 'Justice' if Interpol is not allowed to truly operate world wide...

RE: How come you don't believe in God?

Perhaps the question should really be, Does 'God' believe in the human race...while trying to consider several points about what we humans perceive as 'God'; a single enity/concept or a multitude of entities for starters; regarding the old question of how many names are there for 'God' what if it actually plural as in Gods and do they in turn have a God or Gods...Makes your head spin just as nicely as a fifth of Bourbon...laugh

RE: International Law Enforcement Operates in U.S.

The Question still is,should INTERPOL allowed to operate in the US without any Constitutional constraints?
As a matter of Fact, should they be allowed to operate like that in any Country?[/quote

Point of what may cause disorder in this all too volatile thread, but as we all know, several foreign intelligence services already operate with full immunity from any and all public scrutiny in the US; the most problematic and notorious for several of the American services has always been Mossad and their totally covert adjunct groups. They are certainly not under any constraints to worry about any US citizen's constitutional rights nor are they subject to any sort of US judicial oversight and certainly not subject to nor answerable to any Freedom of Information inquiries by anyone at any time, but then again neither are the Chinese for quite obvious reasons since the G8 will be admitting them very soon. The Saudis and a few others are only allowed to operate within the US but must keep their US counterparts fully informed but are still regarded as immune from any public scrutiny. It is all 'among friends' as the old saying goes but Ive know many that as dedicated and patriotic agents and a few one time congressmen strongly objected to these 'subversive' operations. The policy has always been 'either you shut up or you will have an accident, a fatal one'...

RE: which religion is oldest throught out the world and first in earth

The oldest religion on Earth, would of necessity be the first one on this planet. It was the Sumerian as they are acknowledged as the first recognized civilization to appear.
There is no other name which has come down through the ages other than Sumerian...The ancient "Babylonian" religion(s) that were of original Sumerian ancestry had no official name for their religion that they basically inherited from Sumeria. A few thousand years later the name of Marduk was briefly attached to the general religion but when Babylon collapsed, so did their God Marduk...one could say that then, the oldest was a 'no name religion', sort of the world's first generic religion. Study ancient Sumerian civilization; it is the primeval source of all civilizations and religions.

RE: International Law Enforcement Operates in U.S.

All constraints must be bypassed, ignored or simply not exist at all. Case in point: the American Counter terrorism unit; CTU, the domestic division of the CIA set up after the 1993 bombing of the WTC. It was openly mandated to operate within the US and to follow all Federal laws and to adhere to the Constitutional rights and privileges of all citizens. It effectively was hamstrung from the very beginning to fully fight terrorism, both foreign and domestic. All other services not only laughed at this childishness but also threw up their hands in frustration as it also hamstrung full co-operation with the US. Things had to , as usual, be 'under the table' to get anything done. Since the US Congress bears the responsibility for having these constitutional restraints upon all the intelligence services operating on US soil, they simply had to be by-passed. Hence Interpol, which has no such juvenile domestic restraints to contend with. All the various intelligence, both military and 'quasi' civilian in the US will still share under the table with their allies. Their opponents have never been so hampered and now can and most likely be threatened by Interpol's ability to go after them and the terror/ sleeper cells in the US that have been there for years plus all the constitutionally protected domestic terrorists...that haven't been shut down by the FBI, the local yokel sheriff dept.'s or even CTU. Same now goes for all those that hide behind 'diplomatic immunity' that even the UN intelligence service has been reluctant to tackle simply because of under staffed, overworked and questionable allegiances by its bureaucrats that oversee their operations; same was with the various US oversight committees that are the main causes for 'constitutional hemorrhoids' in the US intelligence services. Interpol may just finally be the ultimate Preparation H needed to get around to actually getting rid of various criminal and terrorist networks. It would actually help protect more Americans than endanger them in any way. It also levels the 'playing field' that the US has always had advantages over others in that their services have always operated as they wanted to in all countries operated as colonial fiefdoms of the American Empire. Everyone knows full well that up to one quarter if not more of all US embassy staff is always , somehow, connected to the CIA, FBI, all the military alphabet soup groups etc. Much the same for staff in most other embassies and consuls. Now as things stand, Interpol, still can't legally arrest any diplomat, but their covert people can now do the same as the US; take anyone out that is a real danger, which so far, has basically been done by a select and privileged few, namely the Chinese Secret Service,( of which are mostly non-Chinese agents and mercenaries for hire); for instance, has anyone ever wondered what happened to and where all the former Stasi agents went, among others?? All split 'tween the US, Germany, Russia and China...yes....all making the world 'safe for terrorism'!rolling on the floor laughing
Sovereignty of any country is not and will never be recognized by any terrorist group bent on carrying out their plans or aims and neither should should counter-terrorist operations. It is a form of a war of all against all; not a cocktail happy hour...that comes afterwards for the survivors of the operations. On either side.wine

RE: International Law Enforcement Operates in U.S.

As someone who has had 'a free pass' from Interpol since the early 70's and have 'worked' for several intelligence services, I find the responses from the few US citizens to be simple 'knee jerk' reactions at best and laced with the usual paranoia of 'everyone is out to get us' hysteria.
The fact that Interpol has now, finally been given jurisdiction to operate openly as well as covertly in the US, would seem to me(playing the devil's advocate), be something that most US intelligence organizations would applaud simply because of all their frustrations at being handcuffed to obey their so called US constitutional constraints. Their Constitution, is nothing more than 'constipational' restraints and as always been so from any and all that I've ever met along the way. This has always been their loudest complaint. What all intelligence services, the world over agree with is that you can't fight an enemy with one hand tied behind your back, nor can any service be run by a bunch of appointed egomaniacal bureaucrats.
