The military only exists to protect the interests of the super-rich. Big Oil. Big Business Big Pharma Big Brother Media tycoons. International bankers Arms manufacturers etc.
Who runs America? Money runs the world. And pulls the strings of all the political marionets.
The problem lies not with the difference in skin tone or facial features. Those are no big deall.
The real problem is the bigotry and intolerance of society.
Eurasian kids are systematically excluded in many Asian cultures. The kids are marked for life as outsiders.
And the same sort of thing happens in the west too.
When I lived in NY each little section of the city had its gangs making sure that other ethnic groups didn't violate their turf at night.
Ethnic cleansing occurs even in places where there is no recognizable physical difference between the various groups.
And when such visible differences do exist, the potential for discrimination is even greater.
So, even though I agree that we are all one human race and that diversity is beautiful, I cannot say that the future looks bright for widespread acceptance of inter-ethnic marriage.
I check out men's profiles too. (those who post on the forums). Just to know who they are, where they live and what they say about themselves.
It helps to get to know the people you talk to.
Another point is that in some of the little thumbnail photos, it's not always evident how old the person is.
I'm amazed at how many women my age have a much more youthful appearance. Especially on the main profile photo. It's natural that they choose the most flattering photo, and that generally means the photo that makes them look youngest.
So I may click on a photo without knowing how old the woman is. And once there, even if she is younger, I generally scan the profile. Not with any wierd intent, but just general curiosity about people.
Recently, I corresponded a few times with a young woman who's living in Taiwan, just because I used to live there and I wanted to ask her about changes etc. Just friendly stuff. There's nothing wrong with friendliness and it shouldn't be viewed with suspicion unless it goes beyond acceptable limits.
And setting those limits is up to the people involved.
I agree that it is totally bad for an older man to hit on young women. But I must also state that I have seen some young women who intentionally target older men.
Unless someone complains I figure it is their business, not mine.
In these times where more than half of the marriages end in divorce within a few years, I don't think you can judge a person by the number of "failures".
Here in France the trend among young people is to not get married at all. They live together and have kids etc. But it seems that the unmarried relationships are more stable than when they are married. The very act of formalizing and legalizing the relationship seems to in some way cause it to deteriorate.
I'm 56. I've been a guitarist all my life, and played in a lot of groups. But a couple of years ago I started having vertigo that makes it hard for me to stand for long periods of time. And my style of guitar playing doesn't work well sitting down.
So I bought an electric piano and began to practice a couple of hours per day. And I'm real pleased with my progress.
Don't worry about your hands.
Check out this girl who only has 4 fingers (total) but she can really play.
As a younger man I moved up to Alaska to bring that oil down from Prudo Bay I made so much money I coulda bought Nebraska Spent half of it on whiskey The other half on women The other half well I just threw away
Well it's gone but not forgotten I've shed tears but I have no regrets And I think about that money often Lord it may be gone but not forgotten yet
Had a shrimpboat by the name of Polyanna Spent more time on the sea than on the shore Till a storm blew up off the coast of Louisiana It rained and it thundered She capsized and went under Now there ain't no Polyanna anymore
Well she's gone but not forgotten....
Met a lovely señorita from El Paso had to lasso her and she was quite a catch Well I showered her with hugs and kisses till she ran away with some gringo from Milwaukee and all that woman taught me is never count my chickens till they hatch
Phoenix quoted Waylon Jennings: Well the honky-tonks in Texas were my natural second home Where you tip your hats to the ladies and the rose of San Antone I grew up on music that we called western swing It don't matter who's in Austin,Bob Wills is still the king ....Cause' once you're down in Texas,Bob Wills is still the king
Me:
Now you're talking Phoenix.
I'm originally from Austin. And I saw Bob Wills and his group live several times back in the late 60s and early 70s.
My favorite current WS group is Asleep at the Wheel. They came to France last summer for the Craponne Sur Arzon festival.
I had a WS group in the Lyon area from 1997 to 2004. We usually played at 5 people but sometimes as high as 8.
And as Willie says:
The life I love is making music with my friends, and I can't wait to get on the road again.
RE: currency
It's been done on purpose. And now just watch, the UK will be drawn into the Euro and Britain will cease to exist as a truly sovereign nation.
