RE: ISIS Getting Closer To West

professor I suspect that the best solution for ridding the world of terrorists - is to take away the environment in which they thrive. So what does make a person separate from their families and friends and think that they government is a foreign separate thing? What makes young men and women disenfranchised, angry and paranoid?

Home grown terrorist - those that have no meaningful work, who think that their government does not respond to their needs, are isolated and indifferent to those around them. They grow in places that have the media, the family and friends feed them the lies about how the world works.

Our government is not just in Washington - and certainly seems like the Congress politicans is only interested in getting elected again and making money when they leave office or while in office instead of setting policy, to make America better.

However, our government is only a small component of ...... bleet, bleets.

Our government is also teachers, a free public school, and public servants that oversee parents who opt to use charter schools or private schools. Free libraries with Librarians, with books and computers. Those guys that go out and inspect to ensure clean water, pick up your garbage or ensure that someone picks it up, monitors the electricity, food products, drugs, regulate business, and of course fight crime, and provide an attorney to defend you in criminal cases if you can't afford one. The mail delivery. The folk who cut the checks for social security, or disability, ensure that people on the road have driver licenses and insurance coverage for accidents, the park rangers, and fire fighters. The local and state governments buy goods and services from businesses in the communities. The government offers social services and assistance to those that apply and are determined eligible for the elderly, homeless, mentally ill, health services. All of these services must be held to transparency, accountable to show every thing they used tax dollars to support. Tax dollars can't pay for everything - so we have to put people in place to set policy and decide how we do this. They set standards and rules.

Our government is not our enemy, it is us, we are part of it. It is not perfect, it is a flawed as the humans who work in it, for it, with it. If it is not us, it is our sister or brother, or family member or our neighbor. When we accept that we are part of a community together and that our government is not out to get us - we perhaps stop some of the homegrown terror. Everyday in America we work at holding those that are elected or hired in our government accountable. There are checks and balances in place

On another note and more in the thread theme.

It is time for the media to starting singing another song. It is not up to America to solve the world's problems.

One of the reasons America does so well, in one respect, is we do not wait for the world to come to our rescue. We solve our own problems. If we have a corrupt system, we recognize it, expose it to the light. We fix it. We hold people accountable. We set up checks and balances to oversee each other.

It is in a continual effort of adjustment to a dynamic, moving, cyclical system.

..... ok, ok I'm getting off my soapbox now.

Just how "academic" an experiment marriage were you thinking? Will you have to write a thesis? Or is it more of an scientific, academic type approach with a lab and home work and testing and being graded? ......

RE: The Ketogenic Diet

Back sure it is a pleasure to do, or something you like, because if it a burden or not fun, or not easy, it becomes easy to just do for a while and then one reverts back to old behaviors.

Did you know that diet is a French word, which means to "feed the soul"?

RE: Are human "polygamous " by nature?

professor I am not so sure about polygamous marriage becoming popular.

Human beings are by nature, jealous. When we are young and if we have siblings, we learn to share. However, we do not always like to share.

Therefore, polygamous marriage which is a sharing relationship.... is not that natural a state of behavior, more of a learned behavior.

Best of luck with it, let me know.

Does it look natural? Best to go with shaved, or balding, or implants, or dredlocks, or thinning on top and full beard.

What ever way you decide to go, just try to be individual and age appropriate.

RE: What should North America do about the Ebola Outbreak in Africa?

The United States will not turn back flights from West Africa over concerns about the Ebola virus, the White House said Monday.

"There are in place a lot of precautions to ensure the safety of the American public and the traveling public," White House spokesman Josh Earnest said Monday at a press briefing.

Asked if the administration would block flights from the affected countries, he said, "No, not at this point."

The comments follow guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) allowing airlines to deny boarding to passengers who are exhibiting Ebola symptoms.

The CDC has also stepped up training for Customs and Border Patrol personnel in order to identify people who should be quarantined for the illness.

Earnest noted that people leaving the affected countries must undergo screening before departure and then again upon arrival in the United States.

RE: Today I will

sigh I must get to work now, otherwise, mostly naughty is the way to play, any day!

RE: If you learned she is pregnant with someone else's kid

I think it depends on several things or ways of feeling -

How does the person feel about adoption? It is the same concept of loving a child that was not your own biological child. We humans have a great capacity to form bonds and align families even those that are not our own. Fostering, adoption, and marrying a person who already has children.

There are different roles one can play in one's live.

So imagine forgiving your girl, taking her back in, and when this child is born, he/she looks up at you in such love and knows that you will protect them and raise them as your own....... and learns later in life that you are not the biological father but they don't care, because you are their father......

or not.

RE: If you learned she is pregnant with someone else's kid

Sadly - if you take her back into your home and life, and forgive her, there is still the baby's father that also can come back into your home.

It might work out, it might not. However, this new wonderful innocent child now has the option of two fathers. The biological who might or might not have rights and the nuturing father who raises this child with the mother.

Nothing happens in isolation.
