see, listening to Chris over the years on here about the origin of greek words....
GIVEN THE MODERN OBSESSION with the concept of freedom and the almost inevitable link between freedom and democracy it is no wonder that classical scholars show renewed interest in the ancient Greek concept of eleutheria and its relation to the modern concept of freedom. Two foci of attention are (1) democratic eleutheria, in particular the Athenians’ understanding of political freedom, and (2) the philosophers’ alternative conception of eleutheria, in particular Plato’s and Aristotle’s understanding of what freedom is really about.
I think that the media there has made themselves into the story. They through their reporting and giving a voice to otherwise ordinary citizens and residents of Ferguson, now can vent their feelings and opinions. The media has turned this serious tragedy into a circus.
When I see honesty....... I laugh because ..... well just because it is what we all want, and yet how can we call ourselves human and honest at the same time.....
Actually I suspect that independence in Ireland means a different thing versus a woman's independence in Pakistan. and of course, independence in America or Canada or Peru or Cuba.....
A simply-worded headline in Monday's New York Times crystallizes the often ignored tension between the proliferation of disease among the global poor and the interests of the for-profit pharmaceutical industry by declaring: "India's Efforts to Aid Poor Worry Drug Makers."
As the Times reports—much to the chagrin of the "business groups, legislators and drug makers in the United States"— India has increasingly challenged patent protections in order to care for their impoverished population by allowing the production of less costly, generic versions of numerous drugs.
Citing just once example, in a country where roughly half those diagnosed with breast cancer die from it, in part due to the soaring cost ($18,000 per treatment) of one of the most effective drugs, India's pioneering stance against the world's largest pharmaceutical corporations has the business "world watching" as the country strives to bring more affordable medicines to its people, especially the poor.
truly an oath will not work - the only promise that works is in the action and good deeds.
I assume of course, that you have maintained your own financial stability? and you need a mate that holds up his end of the relationship not drags it down.
Also adult classes in photography, or art or geography or other things that you are interested in that also have men in it. If I was interested in men here, I would take up scuba diving, or fishing......
It should be interesting as my friend is visiting from Germany and she is interested in American men..... so should I try and play cupid for her.......
Not that she has any problem meeting men. Still, I think that when you meet someone and you know that they are only there visiting and not long term, you don't become invested in the idea of anything more permanent in mind.
Although once I retire, my ability to rent for longer periods of time in a foreign country are easier than if I was looking to settle down in another country and needed to work. Conversely, at this age hopefully, when I do connect with the special Scottish citizen, he will be retired and can spend the winter months living with me in Miami and then with him or near him in Scotland for spring and summer. Just the cost of travel several times a year. I will have the time, then.
RE: For Love or Money
