I didn't see it as mud slinging, more as a humorous response based on the general sentiments and assumptions of the relationship between Russia and America.

I am originally Canadian, born and educated so I see this whole cold war business from a different perspective....

My thoughts on your comment of the 2 income family model as destructive?

There are also some inherent mythes. Women throughout history have wanted to be paid for their work. All humans have wanted to engage in productive meaningful work and be compensated for it.

There were just not a lot of jobs that paid well or that they were allowed to do. Also the "work" in the home is not valued. Also a lot of men would like to stay home to raise the children and have their partner go out into the world and work - but our attitudes about men's jobs, women's jobs are still strong and dominate the real world.

A longitudinal study was done in Chicago and white men without schooling were hired, employed and paid more than their minority or women counterparts. They were even continued to be employed and given raises if they had bad credit and criminal records....

But I digress......


there are a few studies that suggest that children do much better, and are more successful when their mothers are out in the workforce or getting an education....

I don't know about Darwinism.... I just remember the saying monkey see, monkey do.

I also found it very odd that there is a Statute in San Francisco of Columbus looking out over the Pacific Ocean..... yikes it's no wonder a lot of Americans are ignorant of historical facts.

Columbus is a person, commissioned by Spain? and he actually did not discover the Americas - he ended up in Bahamas? Jamaica? somewhere in the Caribbean ....

If this is a friend's situation; my suggestion is to stay out of it.

If he gets involved with the daughter, he might end up with the older woman as a mother-in-law. When the daughter finds out about the fling - well nothing says deceit and betrayal louder than keeping secrets like this.

I just don't get this attitude of weak willed men? The women here online and in the real world are strong resilient and independent with a mind and a heart they call their own.

When they share their heart, body and soul with another it is expected that the recipient with do the same -

Today's woman wants a man strong enough and confident enough stand beside her, not behind her or in front of her.

I read they were linked to some big robbery there... what's that all about? Why doesn't Ireland do what Scotland did, which is hold a respectable election of all Irish to become a united country? or is it a logistical nightmare to hold the vote in the one country and simultaneously hold it the Irish UK part.

Please explain how this election stuff in Ireland works?

Do you vote for individuals in parties as in representation by population? or do you vote for a person and what they stand for? What does FG stand for? or for that matter FF, Lab, SF or others?

Not all of us are just interested in our own - some of us actually care about the world around us.

I don't understand this exercise .... I have an opinion like everyone else - so what ?

He is our President and time will judge him.

He used his executive act to finally bring health care to millions of American people, in a free market (which is the American way) free enterprise and big corporations that suck the life blood out of the people.

He brought justice to the people who caused 9/11.

He keep the promise of getting us out of Iraq and best he could.

He is initiated talks with China regarding the garbage both our countries are producing.

He didn't bully congress - he just showed the American people how terrible congress is, and the fact that we have now mostly republicans, I blame on the law that allows even stupid people the right to vote.......

I have a tree in my front yard that comes from Malaysia - a Bismarkia Palm.

I am sure when it rains there, it is like the heavens open up and pours a bucket full - and cleanses everything.

Actually where the scene was filmed in Scarface was on South Beach in Miami. These are from across the lower part of Florida on the Gulf of Mexico side in Naples.

If you were in Miami - you would have been charged first for parking in their parking lot, walk in and pay a cover charge..... and then pay for a drink of water..... what's this business about a dash of orange?
