Doubt that the sun doth move.
Doubt truth to be a liar, But never doubt I ....... fart. giggle innocent

RE: Why do people troll?

Just for the international community's sake define what you mean by troll. I have heard the term many times and I think I know in general what it means, but could you elaborate?

RE: Historical events

In Babylonian astronomy, records of the motions of the stars, planets, and the moon are left on thousands of clay tablets created by scribes. Even today, astronomical periods identified by Mesopotamian scientists are still widely used in Western calendars such as the solar year and the lunar month.

Using these data they developed arithmetical methods to compute the changing length of daylight in the course of the year and to predict the appearances and disappearances of the Moon and planets and eclipses of the Sun and Moon. Only a few astronomers' names are known, such as that of Kidinnu, a Chaldean astronomer and mathematician. Kiddinu's value for the solar year is in use for today's calendars. Babylonian astronomy was "the first and highly successful attempt at giving a refined mathematical description of astronomical phenomena." According to the historian A. Aaboe, "all subsequent varieties of scientific astronomy, in the Hellenistic world, in India, in Islam, and in the West—if not indeed all subsequent endeavour in the exact sciences—depend upon Babylonian astronomy in decisive and fundamental ways."

So I guess I would like to witness the firs writings of human kind.... but I would not like to stay in this time period.

RE: Historical events

thumbs up We all forget that everyone doesn't have our particular history of social norms, customs and knowledge.

Rosa Parks on that ride who refused to ride at the back of the bus. There were also the 3 young folk that sat at the whites only lunch counter.

RE: Word to Live By - Part 3

Unfortunately we first world countries people have a bit of time on our hand to do more than just survive - we are able to thrive. When getting up and going to get fresh water, or getting enough food, and avoid being killed is the top priority in your life.... well who has time for questioning anything.....

Martin Luther King said: Human progress is neither automatic nor inevitable. Every step toward the goal of justice requires sacrifice, suffering and struggle; the tireless exertions and passionate concern of dedicated individuals.
