really good question - for I have had a variety of different women bosses over the years and they are either, from my experience, really good, or really not.
Women that adopt their own style of leadership do much better than those that try to take on the characteristics of male style leadership.
the my way or the highway style does not really, in my opinion work for women. Except if it is a military leadership environment.
If the woman's communication skills are strong and she is a good listener - the office can thrive. But mostly women who know what they are doing, and can communicate that to their employees are the most successful.
I seriously point my finger at corporations - those mammoth beasts that hid behind boards and shell and dummy companies while manipulating the structure of employment so that the "little folk" get shafted.
Example retirement - they put the required retirement funds into a special company offset of the corporation - put only what is required into it, then let it go bankrupt so that they don't have to pay all those people their pension..... and those employees are just too old to fight it. And it is all legal......
I think that is the key. Some countries just set policies and rules, never negotiate with criminals.... well negotiate, but make sure the outcomes saves lives.
Any man worth his salt will stick up for what he believes right, but it takes a slightly better man to acknowledge instantly and without reservation that he is in error.
Except I understand that in south and central america, kidnap and ransom is the locals cottage industry. Mostly for their own country's rich folks, or corporations employees.
