Religion in America is certainly different then anywhere else.

The fundamental difference is in the separation of Church and State.

sorta true.... history has the settlers in the communities and the law followed, whereas in Canada, the law went first then the settlers came after. So a totally different approach to justice.

Also, Canada is a younger country and only 26-28 million whereas America has 308 million folk living here.

also to continue on this thought, I read that about 90% of the protestors were not from or living in Ferguson, they came to Ferguson to protest and .... some to cause trouble.

Ideal thought - intentions are good.



America is not like any other country in the world. It has some similar things, but overall it is a very different bird of another color.

And therefore, the reason for Grand Juries in America; to bring to the justice system the cases that rise above what the law normally considers.


If the State's attorney or district Attorney whatever they are called, does not bring charges against a public official (a police officer), then it is up to a Grand Jury to do the job as investigation, calling witnesses and determine if there is enough to indict.

That is the way America works, and everything as consequences. Anyone in America who acts out in violence, the looters, the arsonists, the instigators for violence in the town of Ferguson, will likely face America's system of law in some form or fashion.

For the police officer - the system is not through - there are the federal government's civil violations department who will review it. There is the State's civil courts of law that can review this cause.

I do like to listen in on other peeps conversations on their mobiles and also our community is so over populated that it is extremely normal for me to not be bothered by cell phones and people talking and texting.

Lately, tho, I enjoy all the people using technology in public

Chris, do you really think that people have to believe in something in order to celebrate their social customs?

Also does there really have to be a link to the evergreen trees that are decorated and put in the home as strictly a Christian belief?

and this has been touted by the news media as the great generation......

It is truly all about the spin on things - now when I read or watch the news, I ask myself who are the sponsors and advertisers and owner of the network that wrote the story? 9 times out of 10 it is some business that needs to keep top ratings so they spin the news to sensationalize it.

I on the other hand say they are a perfect place at work, church and on a date. It is not so rude as much as it is the need to develop new rules of how to behave with each other when operating technology in public......

I read that Santa was actually a real person (can't remember the country of origin - Dutch maybe?) named Nicolas, perhaps sainted to Saint Nicolas. The tradition for the folk to leave their shoes outside their homes at the doorstep - wooden shoes? and he would put money and stuff into those of the poor while they slept at night. So when they awoke in the morning and put on their clogs, they would find the money.

the tradition grew from their, where people acted like St. Nick.

What is the your truth and what while folk in America heard over this certainly different in the minds of what black folk in America heard and believe. It's a crazy country. I am not suggesting what I think or understand, I am just sharing with you in conversation I have had with my friends and colleagues and what they still believe - to spite the evidence.

Anyway, after the civil suit and the other criminal acts and trials, that former NFLer is locked up where he belongs.

Sorry to burst your bubble there, but here in Miami there are still my black coworkers who believe that football ex husband did not kill nicole and ron (let's start by giving back the respect to the victims and not glorifying the killers by mentioning their names, like the Canadians). I am a baffled as you - but it is about the race - or else we would have so many laws and rules on the books about equality and the path to equality.
