RE: Who is better in lying?

Actors are better at lying.... or is that good actors are better at lying.

All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players: they have their exits and their entrances; and one man in his time plays many parts, his acts being seven ages.

RE: meeting in the internet versus meeting in real life

I think the internet is JUST a tool of communication. We are truly living now in the age of information. It is likely better (in my opinion) to use a relatively free site over a paid site.

Just as in the early days when people believed in and went to local matchmakers so too there are newly created websites that are virtual matchmakers and is their success rate any better or worse?

Does knowing more about the person you meet on line and then meeting them in real life determine the love or longevity in a relationship? dunno

This site has been very successful for me in meeting people and expanding my social circle. Get-together in Glasgow - and responding to a thread by a now friend in Germany who was visiting my city for a few days.

Not so much in the romance department - so far....

RE: Let our coinage declare our trust in God'

It is interesting I noticed that in Canada it is not against the law to deface coinage or money, yet in USA it is.

However, socially Canadians would never do it, even as a protest, yet in USA they would....

The difference between social rules being stronger than laws.....

Is there some truth in my understanding? I should google it before I speak..... shhhhhh too late.

RE: Let our coinage declare our trust in God'

blushing All right, I'm putting it out there.......

as I climb slowly up on my soapbox.......

When most folks say the Pledge of Allegiance - "I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

When I say the Pledge of Allegiance " I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation (silence), indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

They only added under God in the pledge after 1952.... or so.... is fear of communism ... or so the rumors go.

RE: WHAT MAKE PEOPLE HAPPY?

It's possible to think that if you have a purpose in life, a greater purpose that you feel happier.... although that might not be true - you might feel..... accomplished or driven or passionate or alive but I don't know if it is the key to happiness.

Although my philosophy is more of like....

all people have the capacity to make me happy, some when I see them, and some when they leave.....

RE: best climate in the world...

FOR example the best financial climate in the world is.....

In a recent survey of affluent people in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, Mastercard found that people's definitions of success varied widely depending on where they were from.

The survey looked at affluent people in the region, who are, on average, age 37, have one young child, and have investible assets of at least $200,000. The affluent population is growing quickly in the region, which is expected to be home to 70% of the world's affluent by 2017.

Mastercard found that overall, in addition to finding satisfaction in buying and owning luxury goods, affluent people in the region view "wealth as the catalyst to experience the world."

More and more, affluent individuals in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East are placing value in experiences over things. 30% of the survey's 1,000 respondents rated international travel as their most desired experience, followed by culinary experiences (23%) and golf (12%).

RE: a woman leader

In my opinion.....

Women leaders in the United States have a difficult time

especially in the Republican Party - as it is predominately white men who are currently in power. doh

RE: Favourite Mode Of Transport

It's my plan this year! I do so love Scotland. smitten

RE: Favourite Mode Of Transport

I judge for a school competition called "Oddysey of the Mind" which is creative activities for children from kindergarten through to high school. This years problem was to create an train and train track system that could navigate through some bumps and have a theme of the journey it took. It was so amazing to see these young minds in teams solve this problem.

After seeing the "trains and traintracks" they created - also they could not use model trains they had to build their own with their own way of propelling the engine ...

So I understand the delight in having a little train travel through your garden.... perfect for the garden fairies..... grin angel2

It's always the way, you can pay now little ant or you can pay later, little grasshopper, it's a long a cold winter if you are the grasshopper.

On the other hand, I read on Facebook, a poster that said: you can always make more money, but you might not always be able make the memories later.

RE: I am angry

Overcrowding is one of the major problems in our society today. Noise is just one such result of those overcrowding situations.

Earplugs

or
Advise your landlord that the walls are too thin and if he/she does not do anything about it, you will and bill the landlord for it. A self made soundproof wall - made of quilted padding is a possibility. I am sure if you suggest to the landlord that the level is at noise pollution level and that it will cost him/her, then they will talk to the tenant.... perhaps.
