The monarch of Scotland was the head of state of the Kingdom of Scotland. According to tradition, the first King of Scots (Middle Scots: King of Scottis, Modern Scots: Keeng o Scots) was Kenneth MacAlpin (Cináed mac Ailpín), who founded the state in 843. The distinction between the Kingdom of Scotland and the Kingdom of the Picts is rather the product of later medieval myth and confusion from a change in nomenclature, i.e. Rex Pictorum (King of the Picts) becomes ri Alban (King of Alba) under Donald II when annals switched from Latin to vernacular around the end of the 9th century, by which time the word Alba in Gaelic had come to refer to the Kingdom of the Picts rather than Britain (its older meaning).
The Kingdom of the Picts just became known as Kingdom of Alba in Gaelic, which later became known in Scots and English as Scotland; the terms are retained in both languages to this day. By the late 11th century at the very latest, Scottish kings were using the term rex Scottorum, or King of Scots, to refer to themselves in Latin. The title of King of Scots fell out of use in 1707, when the Kingdom of Scotland was merged with the Kingdom of England to form a single Kingdom of Great Britain. Thus Queen Anne became the last monarch of the ancient kingdoms of Scotland and England and the first of Great Britain, although the kingdoms had shared a monarch since 1603 (see Union of the Crowns). Her uncle Charles II was the last Scottish monarch actually to be crowned in Scotland, at Scone in 1651.
The policies of William the Conqueror, king of England from 1066 until his death in 1087, may be largely responsible for eventually making Britain the most powerful nation in Europe.
At the age of 8, William the Conqueror became duke of Normandy. Violence plagued his early reign, but with the help of King Henry I of France, William managed to survive the early years. After the Battle of Hastings, in 1066, he was crowned king of England. He never spoke English and was illiterate, but he had more influence on the evolution of the English language then anyone before or since. William ruled England until his death, on September 9, 1087, in Rouen, France.
New Age relationship might be in a committed thingie by separate homes but living together by Skype..... or whispering sweet nothings to each other by text and WhatsApp or ....

There are just too much for teachers to teach as it is in order for children to compete in the real world - math, science, technology.....
Ethics might be incorporated into class or classes. Civic duties are often taught in school.
However, there is a certain point in which the parents are the responsible party - ethics and morality get tied to one's religious beliefs and these the religious leaders want to keep in their faith and in the home - not in public school.
I find it quite the mystery why there seems to be a mixing of religious culture and beliefs into secular life. Especially in America the Christmas tree and the rituals around it have nothing to do with one's religious beliefs. 2 separate concepts keep very far apart - it seems only in Europe and the East that there is a merging of one's religious thoughts and secular thoughts.
I forgot to add books into my structured life too - sheesh! so many books and so little time.
I also have a co-worker who at precisely 3:05 pm in the afternoons, after we all indulge in the ritual cuban coffee or coffee cubano or cordoditto (darn autocorrect) reads the headlines either from CNN, Local sports, events around the nation, homeless issues or I read an item from the Fraud Examiners newspaper latest...
I wish I had some female friends who could grant your desires and of course theirs as well.... but I don't know any women to match your profile living in your area ....
