I love viewing works of art and will continue to do so.

Happy Thursday Johnny.
Me too Bear. thumbs up I also love to create them as well...if possible. Today I will be working on my stairs going into the lower level of my house. I have been working on them now for a little over a year....granted, I only do it when I have time. Guess what, I have some extra time now. laugh

I used to do a lot of wood working back in the day....there is nothing much better than doing wood working and smoking some legal weed. (of course...being very careful with power tools) grin

I have a small wood shop in the process of being built right now. I miss those days of making things from wood. I used to sell them online. It was a great feeling when one of my boxes I sold, the buyer of it three years later asked if I had anymore. grin (a little ego boost I suppose) laugh

Anyway, I love doing that stuff...and I think that is mostly what is important.

Not to mention, I will probably go back to selling some too....maybe even smoking too. dunno laugh

Of course, I don't promote anything that can harm one's health.
Johnny,

That smell of wood. Maybe it's a pheromone, or however that's spelled.
I heard most of your customers were ladies. The really like your wood.
beer
Johnny,

I've come to really like Antiques. Heck, at my age, that's all I've been dating. groundhog cool
Hey Robert.

laugh

True story here.....my ex-gf I made a beautiful chest for her...and when we broke up, that is the first thing she took. laugh

Maybe you are right.

laugh

....reference to your antiques....at least you are getting dates. thumbs up grin

cheers
Johnny,

I heard about a lady who got a free roll of toilet paper just for showing some guy her chest.
I don't know how that relates to your wooden chest, but anyways. beer
funny you say that Robert.....I was just thinking how somebody can make a fortune at making stylish masks...

Long Ranger

laugh

stay safe

cheers
Hi Johnny, before it turns into the usual J/R bawdy dialogue tongue, I too like art. I have a few hand-sculpted wooden pieces in the house. Unfortunately not by me but some by a friend, more from Spain and a couple of African pieces. I also have paintings in every room. Some prints and some originals (no Picasso originals though laugh )
I just like what I like. I could never become a collector of fine art just because it is famous or worth money. I have to love it myself Whether others like it or not is irrelevant.
Pat, wouldn't you prefer if someone other than yourself appreciated it as well?
Johnny S ~ I love beautiful things around too. Alas I usually see what I want looking in to a window like the little match girl or going through an antique shop. Anything I really want is usually way out of my league financially.
I love old Ginger Jars, small pieces of silver, as in very old hand mirrors and pretty useless things like that, that are beautiful to look at. Really beautiful persian rugs.
I love to visit people with houses full of beautiful clutter but can't live with it myself. That is, since I now live in a tiny cottage. So I get overwhelmed and claustrophobic if there is too much 'stuff'

Your home sounds beautiful. I paint myself but have sold anything that is anyway good. Small handcrafter tables are my favourite [even though they are quite useless for everyday life but I have one I managed to buy week by week]. I don't have a breathless view as here in Dublin, or anywhere in Ireland that costs a hellofalot of money. I do have a cottage type garden though with plenty of colour and character.

Molly wow uh oh ....are you feeling all right? No disagreeing on this one? laugh

I am the same way, I like what I like too. Being a dealer, my rule is not to fall in love with anything...otherwise, I will be no longer in business. Through the 20+ years I have been doing this, I had to keep 2 items. laugh Otherwise, the nice things I like that are up for sale, I just happen to have them hanging on my wall, or in places that I can enjoy them. grin

wave
Pat...sounds like you are an artist in your own right. laugh

Yes Urb...some of those antique silver and silverplate hand mirrors are very ornate and beautiful. I have sold many through the years. I have sold some rugs as well. There have been a couple of those I probably should have kept through the years...I love the old Native American rugs. I have weakness for that stuff. In fact, one of the pieces I kept is a Meso American ceremonial shield...it is just gorgeous. I love the vibrant colors.

For me, nothing is worse than clutter. To me, it feels like chaos and I could never enjoy living in a space like that. For what I sell, they need to have their own place, otherwise most of the time I don't buy them. There have been a couple exceptions through the years :(....but....not often.

My place is not bad. I consider it a work in progress. I got a great deal on it....it was fairly new....so, I am just making changes to things the way I like them. I usually do not do things unless I add value. I guess that is the business man in me. laugh

Old shorts Robert...confused you mean the ones that you have a slight brown skid mark in them since you wore them for 2 weeks straight and the band was starting to fall off them because you have owned them for over 15 years?

I don't think covid could survive on an environment like that. uh oh laugh

cheers

Bawdy? I am not even sure what the word means. I know what body means though. laugh

What was that lady interested in, the Long Ranger?

laugh
And remember to take Vitamin C daily to help from getting a cold or stuff. Most people I know get their Vitamin C from drinking the seven up drink with seagrams seven, or that hard lemonade (liquored lemonade)
and healthy drinks like that. wine
Hello Ms. Usha...

The beauty of the female form. smitten grin

Thank you for sharing that wonderful art.

You should try your hand at art again....and yes, just call it abstract if you cannot identify what you have drawn. laugh

You too...stay safe yourself.

It is nice to hear from you.

wave
Usha,

what do you mean by YOU GUYS are appreciating your own wood work and it's splendor?

I've got nothing to do with any of this. I'm half innocent.
innocent
Johnny,

I think this Inhalation is having an affect of some kind on lots of people!!

By the way, you're not one of those people in Michigan protesting for the state to re-open everything and get rid of the Stay At Home deal, are you? laugh
I'm waiting for the yard sales and swap meets to re-open. I need clothes.

And I need to learn about Rome and the USA from looking at coins.
beer
Okay Robert, then learn from Johnny or even Pat and keep yourself busy. laugh

Hope you are doing good and staying home.bouquet
No protesting here Robert.

Those people were convinced that our governor went one step too far with her last orders for all stores to close down unless it is absolutely necessary....she even banned selling paint.

dunno I don't know. It is even said that you cannot even go fishing, in a lake, by yourself on a boat. dunno

That one lady that had that sign in her car window saying she wanted to go back to work....that is not what the main issue of this latest protesting. I think the media might be spinning things a bit. Our governor is being considered as a running mate with Biden. So...I am sure politics is behinds things a bit.....sick if you ask me.

Otherwise, no...just enjoying my wood. laugh
Thank you Usha blushing

yes, I'm doing okay.. my car sometimes takes me to the store, and my dog sometimes takes me for a walk.

Hope all is well and good with you. very happy
Robert, thousands of years after we are gone...there will be many new things learned from coins...like in Rome.

thumbs up ...gotta give our government credit for thinking ahead of time. laugh
Gee Johnny,

give that wood a rest. You might hurt yourself. doh
Yeah Robert, put those body pillows down. You tell 'em Usha. laugh
I put about two hours into working my wood today Robert. laugh
Johnny,

Usha said that I should learn from you and pat8, maybe about using mayonnaise or something? dunno
Johnny,

I get wood for three minutes tops, maybe two.. and that's it for all of 14 days. I then need rest and recuperation. WHEW! sigh
Hmmm...true Robert.

But I suspect that she is worried about you....and you over using your body pillow collection. You might want to be more constructive with your time. She is concerned for you Robert. conversing
Hmmmm....I think I could have went on with my life not knowing that Robert. groundhog
I see ads now Robert where they are making masks cool. You have one yet that does not have a brown streak down the center? ...one of the cool ones I am talking about?
Johnny,
see, with your bawdy talk, as Molly says, you drove off Usha.

She's innocent, you know. wine
It did Robert.

Have you ever given it thought Robert....why is the female form made into art and collected and admired by many. I can understand the actually thing....but the art of it?

Is it like all those women you meet...where they love....love that money?
Another thing, I cant wear the face masks that fit flat against my nostrils and mouth, it makes hard for me to breath. I gotta get them ones with a cup and an oxygen tank back pack.
listen to your doctor Robert. thumbs up Anytime one of your ladies offers you just one cup of excitement, you should never hesitate on accepting. That is what another doctor told me. laugh
Johnny,

you know my old blogs, where I mention I belong to the "Nobody Loves Me Club." laugh

It's true, but at least I have my dog and this --> beer
No, I don't smoke. I just have that problem now and then about breathing. I have worn them painting masks that pop out like a cup in the past when doing painting work or stuff around the home. They're okay with me, but they're also all sold out at stores. frustrated
laugh Robert....you know, that actually might be a great idea. You might get many dates like that Robert. Although, you couldn't do nothing with them until the year 2025 or they discover a vaccine.

Would you break the social distancing rule if you land a dandy of a date Robert, who wants to go back to your place immediately...and do you like none of your pillow have ever done you?
I wore one of those mask one in a store Robert. They recommend that if you can keep a safe social distance, you don't need to wear one....but I went to an area where it was needed.....most were not wearing mask, but I must admit...it felt liberating to be walking around in public with one on...and it was socially acceptable for the most part. thumbs up
