Happy Thursday Johnny.
I have a small wood shop in the process of being built right now. I miss those days of making things from wood. I used to sell them online. It was a great feeling when one of my boxes I sold, the buyer of it three years later asked if I had anymore. (a little ego boost I suppose)
Anyway, I love doing that stuff...and I think that is mostly what is important.
Not to mention, I will probably go back to selling some too....maybe even smoking too.
Of course, I don't promote anything that can harm one's health.
That smell of wood. Maybe it's a pheromone, or however that's spelled.
I heard most of your customers were ladies. The really like your wood.
I've come to really like Antiques. Heck, at my age, that's all I've been dating.
True story here.....my ex-gf I made a beautiful chest for her...and when we broke up, that is the first thing she took.
Maybe you are right.
....reference to your antiques....at least you are getting dates.
I heard about a lady who got a free roll of toilet paper just for showing some guy her chest.
I don't know how that relates to your wooden chest, but anyways.
Long Ranger
stay safe
I just like what I like. I could never become a collector of fine art just because it is famous or worth money. I have to love it myself Whether others like it or not is irrelevant.
I love old Ginger Jars, small pieces of silver, as in very old hand mirrors and pretty useless things like that, that are beautiful to look at. Really beautiful persian rugs.
I love to visit people with houses full of beautiful clutter but can't live with it myself. That is, since I now live in a tiny cottage. So I get overwhelmed and claustrophobic if there is too much 'stuff'
Your home sounds beautiful. I paint myself but have sold anything that is anyway good. Small handcrafter tables are my favourite [even though they are quite useless for everyday life but I have one I managed to buy week by week]. I don't have a breathless view as here in Dublin, or anywhere in Ireland that costs a hellofalot of money. I do have a cottage type garden though with plenty of colour and character.
I am the same way, I like what I like too. Being a dealer, my rule is not to fall in love with anything...otherwise, I will be no longer in business. Through the 20+ years I have been doing this, I had to keep 2 items. Otherwise, the nice things I like that are up for sale, I just happen to have them hanging on my wall, or in places that I can enjoy them.
For me, nothing is worse than clutter. To me, it feels like chaos and I could never enjoy living in a space like that. For what I sell, they need to have their own place, otherwise most of the time I don't buy them. There have been a couple exceptions through the years :(....but....not often.
My place is not bad. I consider it a work in progress. I got a great deal on it....it was fairly new....so, I am just making changes to things the way I like them. I usually do not do things unless I add value. I guess that is the business man in me.
I don't think covid could survive on an environment like that.
Bawdy? I am not even sure what the word means. I know what body means though.
What was that lady interested in, the Long Ranger?
and healthy drinks like that.
The beauty of the female form.
Thank you for sharing that wonderful art.
You should try your hand at art again....and yes, just call it abstract if you cannot identify what you have drawn.
You too...stay safe yourself.
It is nice to hear from you.
what do you mean by YOU GUYS are appreciating your own wood work and it's splendor?
I've got nothing to do with any of this. I'm half innocent.
I think this Inhalation is having an affect of some kind on lots of people!!
By the way, you're not one of those people in Michigan protesting for the state to re-open everything and get rid of the Stay At Home deal, are you?
And I need to learn about Rome and the USA from looking at coins.
Hope you are doing good and staying home.
Those people were convinced that our governor went one step too far with her last orders for all stores to close down unless it is absolutely necessary....she even banned selling paint.
I don't know. It is even said that you cannot even go fishing, in a lake, by yourself on a boat.
That one lady that had that sign in her car window saying she wanted to go back to work....that is not what the main issue of this latest protesting. I think the media might be spinning things a bit. Our governor is being considered as a running mate with Biden. So...I am sure politics is behinds things a bit.....sick if you ask me.
Otherwise, no...just enjoying my wood.
yes, I'm doing okay.. my car sometimes takes me to the store, and my dog sometimes takes me for a walk.
Hope all is well and good with you.
...gotta give our government credit for thinking ahead of time.
give that wood a rest. You might hurt yourself.
Usha said that I should learn from you and pat8, maybe about using mayonnaise or something?
I get wood for three minutes tops, maybe two.. and that's it for all of 14 days. I then need rest and recuperation. WHEW!
But I suspect that she is worried about you....and you over using your body pillow collection. You might want to be more constructive with your time. She is concerned for you Robert.
see, with your bawdy talk, as Molly says, you drove off Usha.
She's innocent, you know.
Have you ever given it thought Robert....why is the female form made into art and collected and admired by many. I can understand the actually thing....but the art of it?
Is it like all those women you meet...where they love....love that money?
you know my old blogs, where I mention I belong to the "Nobody Loves Me Club."
It's true, but at least I have my dog and this -->
Would you break the social distancing rule if you land a dandy of a date Robert, who wants to go back to your place immediately...and do you like none of your pillow have ever done you?
