If the Bible is correct...
That would mean that there is something alive and conscious around us at all times that is undetectable by us.What if the Bible is in fact true?
Prayers are heard and pondered by this invisible life force and then determined if they shall be answered or not.
Our every move and thoughts being recorded and will be used for our judgement.
"God" as he/she/it is called knows all, including our future.
Can billions of people over thousands of years be that gullible into believing something that is in fact not real? ...seems hardly possible.
Has modern society forgotten about this being/force and will we be reminded?
Actually, I do not know for a fact...but there are times that it seems like in fact prayers are answered....etc...

I often thought, whoever or whomever wrote the Bible, really had a deep understanding of human nature.

It sounds like your job has you in touch with these spirits. ....hypothetically providing more proof of their existence.
I think there is much more going on around us that we have no clue about.
We were given 5 senses....or possibly more that have not been used or developed yet...and we are deliberately only taught to use those 5 for a reason.
I do agree with you that the world seems to be becoming a darker place. I wonder if it has not always been this dark and we are only now understanding how dark it always has been because of the internet.
I would also add, I think the world also has a lot of good in it as well and it is important not to overlook that as well.
