Disappear?

How does a jet plane carrying over 200 passengers just disappear? This is day five, and still no sign of where it is. You would think with technology today, there would be transponders that would give indication of its whereabouts? They say there was a transponder, but it was not working or it was turned off. What?

This whole ordeal is hard to believe, given we live in the 21st century.

@Johnny..... I heard on the news that some men boarded the plane with stolen passports. It is just strange how a jet this huge vanishes.
My thoughts and prayers are for the passengers and crew and for their safety!!

normally when planes crash into the sea there's bits every where , but instead of breaking up its on the sea floor ....and what disaster that could kill every one on board befor a call or help could be made , points to a explosion of some sort at high altitude to depressurize the interior of the plane and kill everyone ...

I saw one explanation from a pilot on the news, following possible decompression in the cabin the pilot set the autopilot to return the way it had come before putting his oxygen mask on & then blacked out, with 3000 miles of fuel on board he reckoned it's probably in the Indian Ocean

You would think that they would have been found by now with all of the boats and planes from different countries looking for them.

I hate to say it, but I am starting to think that the plane may have been hijacked. If so, I have prayed that everyone is safe!

I thought this only happened in the Bermuda triangle.

one of our jumbos went missing over the Indian ocean some time ago. The last that was heard from it was when the pilot reported smoke in the plane. The first debris only came up after about two weeks. I cannot remember if the flight recorder was recovered.

It is just mind baffling how this is even possible in this day and age.

I also heard some friends and family were calling the cell phones of passengers and they were ringing. Really strange.

I am with you all, my prayers are going out also.

Jim, I seem to recall that happened to the golfer Payne-Stuart in his private jet, a crack in one of the window & they all died but the plane carried on for hours

in this case they know it turned & if this pilot is right the search area is 3000 odd miles out

yes Johnny, its quite strange actually no body can smell and trace that MH 370, many countries are involved to find them but the plane like disappear just so simple....
anyway... we hope they will be found as soon as possible...

Hello Johnny... It poses an interesting question, doesn't it? I have a friend who has actually taken that flight before ( obviously NOT on the day in question!) ... he believes that it veered off course and they are looking in the wrong locations for debris, in fact, he surmises that they are 1000 k's off course.

I am not sure what to make of his idea... if the plane has been a 'victim' of a terrorism plot, there is a chance the inhabitants are still alive. So I want to believe there is a chance.
