Still the same

In this ever-changing world very little has changed on CS while I was gone. Still the same old political blogs, still the same old religious bashing and still the same old… Hey guess what! Before I could finish reading the second blog and before I could make a single comment, I had something waiting in my mailbox. Yea, still the same old scammers. sigh

But some things did change. The faces did. Lots of new faces which is great. And many are missing. Most are sadly missed while the absence of others are almost welcomed – mind you, I should not say that – they keep things interesting. But it’s early days – they may all still pop up.

And then some still attend their own funerals after putting up a cry baby blog to serve as a tombstone while reading a self written eulogy. What disrespect for the death; not even allowing the self to rest in peace for a single day.doh

It is so much easier to put your bat under your arm and to walk back to the showers in stead of arguing with the umpires. That way there will be no booing from the pavilion when you come out to bat again.

As they say, the only constant in life is change but while nothing changes, things will remain the same.laugh

What worried me most is that in twelve hours since I posted my first blog until I returned twelve hours later only five new blogs were posted. Not good enough. You guys are letting me down and driving me to Wilbur Smith and I don’t really like his books – which unfortunately is all I have to read at the present.grin

Friends

Show me your friends and I’ll tell you who you are. That’s right, birds of feather flock together. If your friends are thieves, then you are a thief too or well on your way becoming one.scold

Being on friendly terms with some people does not make them your friends; they are mere acquaintances. Granted, some better acquainted than others, but still only acquaintances. Friendship is something much deeper. One can almost call it a platonic love affair.hug

Your neighbors are not your friends. You know them due to the proximity of your dwellings. When you meet by chance, you greet each other and maybe exchange a few words just to be civilized.handshake

Your colleagues are not your friends; they were bestowed on you by your employer. You communicate with them because you need to in order to fulfill your duties. Unless you meet regularly outside working hours, you’re not friends; only colleagues.conversing

The other members of your sports team are not your friends. Neither are the pals who regularly drink with you in the pub. I smile when I see somebody referring to on-line ‘friends’. We’re not friends; we are correspondents. Look how often some of us disappear without trace. Is that how friends behave?confused

While it is perfectly possible to have one or more of any of the above people as friends, they do not become that automatically. Friendship develops and evolves at its own pace. If it is not on, it will soon die a natural death.hmmm

Unlike your family who are yours by birth, you chose your friends because you like them and approve of their way of living. You respect and trust them enough to invite them into your home. Your friends are almost more important than your family. You will be judged by your friends. Your friends will make you… or they will break you.professor

The Last Tango

Suicide must be the worse sin you can commit for it leaves you without the opportunity to regret. Not a nice topic, but it happens all the time; as it just happened in my neighborhood.sigh

It also is the worse crime one can commit; a coldblooded, premeditated murder while deliberately leaving enough clues around to be convicted in a court of law. Sometimes even leaving a written confession, before absconding to avoid standing trial. Well, at least in this world anyway.mumbling

A deed planned in detail and executed to perfection. Premeditated! Punishable by death in many countries.scold

But is this the coward’s way out? I don’t think so. It takes guts to execute; a kind of guts I don’t think I possess. Or total insanity.uh oh

I cannot even try to imagine what must go through the mind of the person when he takes that final step that pushes him beyond that point of no return. You should have spoken, Jimmy. There is always hope.sad flower

He's over the line on Twitter...

Several times I've said that Trump abuses his Twitter feed and tweets government things (including influential opinion) that shouldn't be posted coming from his position as president of the United States.
While I say this, I'm sure there will be some comments that he hasn't broken any laws... perhaps, but my opinion is based on common sense.

Every time one of Trumps friends or associates goes to jail, Trump has to express his dismay over the situation... as though they are innocent, regardless of the charges, in an attempt to negate the legal charges. This month, it's Roger Stone, up for sentencing this week. Trump Tweets,"Cannot allow this miscarriage of justice!"
Roger is considered his long-time advisor... although Trump hardly knew him and recently distanced himself from what he actually does/did for Trump...

We had reports that Attorney General William Barr was being influenced and more than 1,000 former DOJ attorneys called for Barr to step down.
Tonight Yahoo! posted an ABC News story of an exclusive interview with AG Barr.

It was interesting to note: Barr criticized the president about him making tweets about the department, people in the department, cases pending in the department and about judges for department cases makes it impossible for Barr to do his job to assure the courts and the prosecutors in the department making sure they are doing their jobs with integrity.
Barr supports Roger Stone's conviction despite Trumps statement "I thought the whole prosecution was ridiculous."

Good night...

Toleration And The Intolerant

At the best of times I’m fairly easy and tolerant but I cannot tolerate the intolerant. I don’t think they deserve to be tolerated if they cannot tolerate those who have different views or believes.talk to hand

This include
• religious groups who believe they have the only key to heaven and that they can kill all those who differ from them,

• political groups who believe that they have the right to force their will on the people and the right to kill their opponents,

• pressure groups like eco-terrorist, who believe that they are on a crusade to save the world and that their goals justify their methods,

• and individuals who think that their opinions are paramount; opinions often based on garbage fed to them by sensation seeking news media while they think that those (often more knowledgeable) who differ from them are fools.

It is the last category that irritates me most. They often shoot their mouths off about something happening on the other side of the world while they seldom understand the real situation. confused

As an example let’s look at the death penalty. It is all too obvious that the people in Sweden will have different views on it than those in South Africa. After all, they have very few murders and it is not a big issue. However, when fifty people in your country are murdered every day and about the same number survives attempted murders, it is a different matter. And if you have lost a parent, sibling or a child to a murder, it becomes a sore point.very mad

But that was just an example; I could just as easily have used an example like food production, illegal immigrants, hunting, racial issues, or terrorism. We all have different views on it and even when we do agree, it is to varying degrees. When the problem is far away you think about it differently than when it is close to home.mumbling

And it pisses me off even more when people shoot their mouths off about the history of another countries while their own histories are written with blood and the very things that they rant about still prevails around them every day. But they don’t notice that, do they? It is more convenient to rave about the sins of others in order to justify or ignore the shìt (and the buried skeletons) in their own backyard. And if you dare to say something about their countries, they are ready to start another crusade to the holy land.doh

What I’m trying to say is that we cannot condemn somebody for having a different view while we don’t understand why he has that view. Everybody have different views but the opinion that is based on hands-on experience is normally the more accurate. What you hear or read or see on the TV is usually what somebody else wants you to believe, not necessarily the whole truth and often exaggerated and/or spiced with lies for the sake of sensation.professor

Five Years Today

Yep, five years and it feels like yesterday when I first stumbled across Connecting Singles after googling for “Connecting Terminals for Single Wires” while fixing a washing machine. I joined the next day and life had never been the same for I became a CS addict. Of course I was not allowed to post immediately. That was the longest week in my life. grin

Five eventful years it was; especially the first two. Lots of fighting on the blogs and I even managed to get a few blogs deleted and got myself suspended once; mercifully for only ten days. Mind you, with all the times I went AWOL I can probably only claim four years on-site. Just in 2017 I was missing from mid February until mid November. doh

During my sojourn here I met some great people; sadly some of them have left us. sigh

Also met a bunch of arseholes; mostly trolls and sadly some of them are still with us. I have no doubt that some are just as keen to see me closing the door from the outside. Bad luck! I’m here to stay for a while longer. tongue

Then there were the weird ones. They come and go and it is not always easy to keep track of who is who when they reincarnate. But I enjoy them; they keep things interesting. How boring it would be without them! popcorn

And finally, of course, there were the scammers but what will a social site be without scammers. At least they kept my mailbox going those days. Mind you, I have not been troubled with scammers so much lately; I think they have me black listed. I used to mess them around too much; thinking out new excuses why the money has not arrived kept me quite busy those days. :uhuh:

If I subtract the 52,400 ±10 Private Messages from scammers, gays and men (those that I have deleted from my mail box) from those who have viewed my profile, I’m left with exactly 109 (estimated and not reviewed by peers giggle) ±10 real women who had viewed my profile. When you consider some of them viewed my profile more than once, it is even less. rolling on the floor laughing

All in all the blogs had gone quiet. Lately the only fights we get are about politics and religion. So boring; I wish they would ban those two topics; it does not seem to promote romancing. flirty

Seven people commented on my first blog and four of them stand out today. See my first comment about them.wow

But never mind the niggles, this is still the best social site on the planet. I don’t bother with Facebook, Whatsapp, Skype and the likes. CS is tops and I’m looking forward to many more years on this delightful site. thumbs up

Hunger for the sun.

It seems it has just got colder here, Winter has indeed arrived.
Although I do not recall the warm embrace of a summer sun. There was however the illusion of warmth. An anticipation of the feeling for which I almost hungered.
It was a warmth that came in the company of damp spirits, and now in the growing dark of ever shortening days the hopes of respite from my own wet bones has gone. Like a loved one leaving to find work abroad I can only hope that soon there will be a joyous return.
Until then an old familiar acquaintance will be my companion. An associate I will study.
Every day, I will watch with intrigue the furrows and ridges and dips and brows that make up his pale and stormy demeanour. I will Gaze up in constant squint and relish in pleasurable optimism at any sign of the cracking of that ever presence that exists within a totalitarian cover which is his face and tormenting winter sky.

Draughts and whistles are the order of business today. I have a multitude of gaps in windows and doors that need plugging up before the real onslaught of hail and wind begins. I must patch the cracks of my temple and then in quiet meditation, I should contemplate the cracks in my life.
If only they were so easy to remedy with sticky tape and old newspaper.
Strange how that works! Patching up the exterior world with old news and Addressing the old news of the interior World That causes the cracks in a life when it is done. Stranger even that when you finally get rid of winters whistle from the last opening to the outside world that the whistle of the other begins. Every wrong that We have imposed on others and every unjust trespass made against us. All begin to sing their winter song. It is good to hear the song of the soul It reminds me that in some way I have worn both masks on my journey toward light I have been Sinner and Saint.
It is good to know this for with this knowledge No person can label me with untruth.
“Know thyself” What a simple shield to wear in this virtual plane were words are the weapons of choice.

Thankfully I can muse with the song of the haunters that sing in my head. I have no tell-tale heart burred under my foundations nor any skeletons in my closet. I am in modern terms relatively free.
The shadow puppet theatre of Plato's cave Perhaps nothing but a genetic memory.
The bloodline journey that brought me here is relatively unknown to me. But its Joys struggles and teachings all make me who I am today. I would be foolish not to listen every now and then and take what note I can of my songs eternal wisdom. Peace and Truth to you. May all your ghosts sing softly on this season of souls.
