You Call It Justice?

I find it disturbing that people can call it justice when a human is killed and mutilated by a wild animal and yet when a human kills another human they don’t want to see the death penalty being implemented.mumbling

Has the life of a wild animal now been elevated to above that of a human being? I agree that poaching is wrong and should be punished severely and I agree that a poacher eaten by a wild animal brought it onto himself but it is not for us to say that he got what he deserved. We are supposed to be compassionate beings; the senseless killing of another living creature, be that animal or human, is a tragedy. At least that is what it should be!uh oh

It is a disregard to human life that leads to callous remarks like we saw just the other day on Annlee’s blog. That is why we have a situation where cruelty to animals, treason, tax evasion and the likes is punished more severely than murder. We have lost our respect for life, especially that for human life.blues

Yet another gender blog

I, as well of all of you, have noticed the amount of blogs of late about gender differences/gender-blaming, gender-bashing and even some gender-loving.

No, I lie, there is no blog about gender-loving.

Now, it is easy to dismiss the more stringent threads which appear to be anti the other sex, these may look like the work of bitter and twisted individuals of both genders.
However, even if the language used is not conducive to most moderates joining in, the simple existence of blogs about these subjects shows that there is a concern out there from at least the minority of men about women (that is what I am going to focus on for this blog)

The main topics…feminism and menopause.

Yes both exist. We are all in agreement about that.

However, the definitions and experience of people regarding these topics seems to vary considerably, from non-existent to off the wall.
Yes, extremes of everything exists. Extremism exists in religion; politics; cleanliness; animal rights; cultures and yes, feminism and menopause.

But should anything be defined by its extreme elements? Most extremists frighten even the moderates of any belief. Moderate Muslims are in as much danger from ISIS as Christians, possibly more, and moderate feminists are probably hated more by extremists than men are.

As seen on Crazy’s blog, menopause isn’t the end of the world for most women. Indeed many see it as a new beginning. And it passes by others without as much as a wave. An extreme menopause is going to affect the woman terribly, and to a lesser extent the man in her life, but extremes are in the minority.

Most people who believe in equality of the sexes are not man-haters, they just believe in equality.

Personally, I believe that in many aspects of life in the West, women do have equality, but it has still to be fought for in other cultures.

And men’s rights also need to be fought for in terms of access/custody of their children; single father’s rights, etc. That is what equality is about, it has to be equal for all.

We are all in this together, we have to either work together for the greater good, or be divided and conquered

All thoughts welcome.

Love is just an Illusion

It’s becoming apparent that love is just an illusion. Love is a feeling and not a tangible substance, love is just signals in the brain, the brain sends out these signals to our loins and these signals make our hearts beat faster and our smiles bigger.

So where do these signals come from, is it seeing someone’s smile, seeing their eyes or perhaps their words?

What or who is behind these signals in our brains?, The concept of love hasn’t been around as long as we think, cavemen didn’t fall in love, they just took a mate for procreation, animal instinct maybe, but animals don’t fall in love, plants don’t fall in love.

Perhaps in the past we were visited by some advanced aliens who planted the seeds of love in us, perhaps they saw our Neanderthal ways a bit too primitive, whoever did this to us will always be a mystery……….Love is just an illusion.

You will argue that love is real and of course you will say that, you have been programmed to think that.

My brain tells me I am in love, but I know it’s not real, it’s just an illusion.

Your thoughts?

An Eye For An Eye?

Does a man deserve to live after he had purposely and intentionally killed another man? I hear this nonsense all the time about his constitutional right to live but what about the rights of the person he had killed?dunno

I believe that every person has the right to live and therefore has the right to defend his own life; or the life of another, providing that he does not use excessive force. professor

Killing somebody by negligence and/or recklessness should be heavily punished according to the circumstances. We cannot claim an accident if we were reckless or negligent.scold

I don’t believe that crimes of passion or things done on the spur of the moment are any different than any other crime. If you have intended to kill at the time, you should pay for that crime.

To me attempted murder is no different than murder. Doing a bad job is no mitigation. It is the intent that matters; not the result. doh

No, I don’t think a man deserves the right to live if he had willfully killed another; no matter what the reason. He had forfeited that right when he took it away from another.

Is It In Our Genes?

Humans have honed the art of killing other humans into a fine art. Our modern military hardware is proof of that. Biological, chemical, and nuclear weapons are just some examples of the destructiveness of man. Whether we want to kill one person or wipe an entire city off the map, we will know exactly how to go about it.frustrated

This is not the case with most other mammals but there are a few exceptions. The most notable of these, is our closest living relative (according to scientists), the chimpanzee. A large proportion of chimpanzee males are on the run their whole lives long, being chased by other chimpanzee males… and killed.shock

Male chimpanzees patrol the perimeter of their territory in large groups on a daily basis. They will think nothing about raiding a neighboring community, killing all males and infants. And killing is not always enough. Sometimes the victims are tortured before being killed.wow

But why do they kill each other? Studies have shown that they kill to gain access to females, territory and food resources. Does it sound familiar?confused

This murderous behavior is not restricted to the males only. Females were often observed to kill infants, and in rare cases to eat them. Observers witnessed an infanticide, where a bleeding mother with a one-week-old child, was pursued by six females, five of which had clinging infants themselves. After a 10-minute struggle, the infant was taken and killed with a bite. These infant killings are more prevalent when food is in short supply.uh oh

At first, this behavior was attributed to the interference of man, but countless studies by reputable researchers indicate that it is in their nature to kill off competition. When I compare their behavior with ours, their violent nature makes it easy to believe that we have a common ancestor somewhere in the distant past. Our primal instincts are still very close to the surface.hole

Love And Hate

I was always under the impression that love and hate was the same emotion; just opposite ends of the scale but I was wrong.blushing

I have learned that people can both love and hate somebody with the same intensity. This is more often so with women (no intention here of bashing women), while men rather tend to dislike.professor

Hate is a dangerous emotion and it consumes more energy than anything else. It will eat you up from the inside and spit you out as an empty shell when it has burned out, leaving you bitter and lonely. You can never be happy as long as you carry hate in your heart; it is all consuming.sigh

When you love and hate the same person, nothing – not even the death of that person – can satisfy the urge for revenge. Death will only rob you of the object of your hate and leave you empty. Therefore you would help such a person if possible if his life was in danger.help

When a man dislikes somebody intensely enough he will enter a stage of feeling nothing for that person. No love, no hate, no dislike, just nothing. The person would not exist in his life and he could not be bothered if the person was alive or not. A far more dangerous emotion or rather lack of emotion. He would literally feel nothing for the person.talk to hand

If you walk around with hate in your heart, get rid of it; before it consumes you. It will imprison your heart and ransom your soul.mumbling

Paris, not like it used to be

Things change. Sometimes good and sometimes bad. We get elated when it's good but when it's bad we feel dissatisfied and disappointed.

This is how I feel about Paris. It used to be different. Very clean and relatively safe. Now I strolled downtown, ate and shopped in the same place five years ago and I feel so much different. I can feel the deterioration and lack of safety which was prevalent in the old days.

My friend who lives here for the last 30 years feels the same way. Like everyone they share the sentiments of being diluted, polluted which eventually leads to the biggest fear every European feels in the current political and social cultural events sweeping the whole union, the influx of migrants from Africa and middle east.

Change is constant, nothing is permanent. I only hope that this volatile climate doesn't lead to the complete disappearance of the old, distinct and unique European culture as we once knew.

Anyways, I am here to enjoy myself and simply observe how it is. I will try to come every year and feel for myself the events that shape a country I used to love before it's completely lost.

Hallelujah...Finally the veil of ignorance has been lifted.

Thanks to the political intelligentsia of CS bowing, the veil of ignorance that had shrouded me has now been lifted.
I shall never view history the way I once did. Now I understand. Now I know.

They did it to themselves.

It all makes total sense now.
Any group that felt hard done by, garnered public sympathy by attacking themselves.

It was never due to hate-fuelling rhetoric by the leader of their enemy, or the fanaticism of their opponents, it was all concocted and carried out by themselves.
The foresight to plant a loyal supporter as a fanatical opponent who attended their opposition's rallies years before is truly admirable. It should be applauded.

That this brave man drove around in a van with politically-motivated posters on his van , planting pipe-bombs against his own people, surely is a call for his elevation to sainthood. Especially considering he will surely spend the rest of his life in prison for this selfless act.
And the brave party members who allowed the pipe bombs to be sent to them will surely be rewarded in heaven.
All to make their party look like the victims? Yes, it was indeed a cunning plan worthy of its place in history.

Speaking of history, it made me think of other atrocities which must now be questioned. If they weren't carried out by card-carrying members of the group who were blamed for doing it, was it all a big conspiracy by the supposed victims?

Were the Jews so disenchanted by their treatment by the right wing party in government that they planted some people to carry out atrocities against themselves to garner public support? It makes total sense. And it worked,
Did Poland and The Netherlands arrange to be invaded?
Are there Palestinians amongst the illegal settlers on their lands?
The list is endless and mind blowing.

As my tiny imbecilic brain cannot possibly take all of this in, the only two simple things I can take from this are:

1. The obvious perpetrators are never at fault.

2. Any outspoken fanaticist is probably a plant from the other side.

Thank you for opening my eyes. teddybear

A Muslim President

Americans have never had a problem making it clear what they want and what they don’t want. Years ago, the country wrestled with the idea of a Catholic presidential candidate named John F. Kennedy. Eventually, cooler heads determined that they young man could indeed think for himself and would not be taking orders from the Pope on how to serve the office of President. Many of those same principles have helped us vote into office a number of “different” people including the first black president. Race, color, creed, and political belief rarely have a serious impact on the capability of the individual to serve their nation and the daunting task of the Presidency.

All of that being said, one must also be aware of the all too important factor of timing. The timing of when a person can and should run for president is essential. Essential to gain political, financial, and emotional support to stay in and be victorious in such a daunting task. Some would say that the presidency is really all about acceptance by the majority but those that have studied the office as well as those that have served in it realize that it is really all about being able to represent the American people. Not just the majority but the minority as well. Insuring that every voice is heard and all are considered. Certainly not easy when a person tries to stay true to their own beliefs as well as represent those of others then not only might not agree with, but with whom they might have serious reservations about.

A Muslim president would face even greater scrutiny. Not only from every non-Muslin but from the devoted Muslims who claim the Quran directs all sort of things that would be in direct conflict with other major religions here that must be given equal representation without reservation. A Muslin president would have to defend the rights of others where it would also directly conflict with the views of Clerics who would certainly demand strict obedience to their own interpretative point of view.

So, while a Muslim certainly has every legal, ethical, and moral right to run for and hold the office, the challenges and difficulties of the same would seem to be insurmountable. We can only add that similar opinions were held against the idea of a Catholic president, yet we had a very successful one.

My own father used to always tell me that just about everything in life boils down to a matter of politics or timing. At this point in time it would certainly appear that here is a case where both politics and timing are all wrong. Perhaps in the future, a very moderate person of that faith might be able to be elected, but they would most certainly find the challenges to be great. We can only hope that we will once again see a day when all faiths are at peace with each other and such a person might be able to measure up in the eyes of the American public, but sadly, that day is not now nor does it appear that it will be in the near future.
