Some guy called Obama

I looked wistfully back at March 2016 and guess what, there were 3 - only THREE wow - political blogs on this international singles website. One about Japan, the other 2 by a nutter were demanding changes in the US. That blogger's profile is shown as deleted, but the anger and wild wording is remarkably similar to a 'new' blogger currently showering us with violent opinions and multiple exclamation marks. roll eyes

We've heard more (often foam-flecked) about this guy Obama since the other guy took over than in all the years of his administration. confused why do the new lot feel so irrationally threatened? Actually, don't tell me.I'll go read a blog if I ever get interested enough to care. Certainly plenty to choose from. Three years ago, 3 political blogs on TWO screens. Just on our first screen on an
international
singles
website

there are 16 political blogs about the USA. Overkill.

More to the point, though, spotted a few names back then who are MIA, does anyone have good news about Dedovix, Catfoot, Vikingson, Jarred, Abby, GoldenGloss, Ccincy, Unlaoised, Pedal, Ed1941? I know Chrome is getting married, wine Mapmaker I wish would come back occasionally even if he is violently allergic to US politics, and oh we miss you Pat8lanips. If it is just the political thing keeping you lot away, we can raise a petition or something.

(There were others who I do know have reappeared under new profiles since 2016 eg Dreamcatcher hug)

More Important

Few things can annoy me more than people who think their cause is more important than others who are in a similar situation.

BLM comes to mind. It is not that I think that black lives don't matter. To me, when a white (or black) cop kills a black (or white) man in the USA, it is no different than when a black (or white) vagrant kills a white (or black) farmer in South Africa. The fact is that all lives matter. scold

Sometimes we are too fond of playing the race card when we cannot get our way otherwise. In my experience such a person either secretly resent who he is and really wish he was somebody else or otherwise he uses racism as a ruse to gain sympathy for his cause.

Using racism as a prop just takes the focus away from the real problem.professor

Area 51 and UFOs

What's your belief about them?

One time we drove from Tahoe to Las Vegas and passed by this place.

It was fascinating to know about this most guarded secret of the military. I researched about it. During the early 90s, Google or Wikipedia wasn't around yet so I had to go to the library and found out more about this place.

Well, what was printed then was so limited that sometimes my curiosity wasn't quite sated as it is now.

Anyways is there anyone who believes in this unidentified aerial phenomena? (UAP) Or it's just one BIG CONSPIRACY THEORY.

Please share your experiences or mere opinion(s) about it if you have any.

I'm fascinated considering how tiny SPECK we are in this vast UNIVERSE.

Good day everyone. teddybear

Be Yourself

It is so easy to spin a yarn to impress somebody but it always backfires. If it requires a lie to be the person that somebody wants you to be, it is doomed to failure; for one lie is never enough. You have to keep lying to maintain all the previous lies and before you know your whole life will be build on lies. You may even believe your own lies in the end but sooner or later the whole card house will collapse.professor

If you are not what the object of your affections requires you to be, give it up. You can never be exactly what other people want you to be; they will always find fault with it. You will be pretending and that will make you a fake. And sooner or later fakes are always discovered. doh

Don’t try to change yourself into what others want you to be and don’t expect them to do it; you will be wasting your time with one unsuccessful relationship after the other. Precious time that could have been used to find somebody who likes you just the way you are. innocent

Sure, work on your shortcomings, by all means. Develop and better yourself. Those who can accept you with all your flaws will only like you more if you improve yourself. Widen your horizons but in the directions that you want to go. Don’t allow others to decide what you want to be. Only you know who you really want to be. thumbs up

Remember, you cannot ever please everybody so please yourself. Those who do not like you as you are not worth your time. grin

Ego

Are we that caught up in our own need to be right that we just cannot be humble anymore?...Does your need to nourish your ego make you intolerable to others?...bruised ego aside...it is truly a great attribute to be humble...whether it be to allow/listen to others' opinions or to admit fault and/or bad behaviour...

Breaking up

I don't look forward to this part of a relationship. Yet it is inevitable. When things are not working as planned and or the so called love is going sideways for whatever reason. What is next? Forward or Reverse?

I am not the person that is easily convinced that trust and commitment will get restored if both are willing to work it out. Really?

I am finding the right door to get out at the moment. lol, hopefully the door is wide open.

Anyways share your feelings if you can relate to this.

Do you find ending a relationship quite easy? Or hard? I know it depends, but to me, it is a very uneasy feelings to go through.

America is great, is there any place better?

For me, Switzerland is the only place I can think of. Opportunity, economic, social and health services considered.

So many people were wondering what makes America great and I think this information will give a good answer.

Having said that, I am sure there's more personal thoughts or ideas that wouldn't necessarily be reflected on this article.

Feel free to share what makes you think our one and only US Of A is great (or not). I know that it is the most sought country in the world or we'd have no illegal immigration problems.

"The United States is a highly developed country, and its economy accounts for approximately a quarter of global GDP and is the world's largest by GDP at market exchange rates. By value, the United States is the world's largest importer and second-largest exporter of goods. Although its population is only 4.2% of the world's total, it holds over 30% of the total wealth in the world, the largest share held by any country. Making up more than a third of global military spending, the United States is the foremost military power in the world and a leading political, cultural, and scientific force."

From Wiki.

If you value freedom, you'd better like America.

Women!!!

Using a broomstick to shove a pound of fresh dairy butter up a mosquito’s backside will be an easier task to accomplish than to understand women. They are indeed the strangest creatures on this planet.wow

One can never tell what they expect you to say or do. I wonder if they know themselves. Like this one girlfriend I had a few years ago. One day she said that I’m just after her body.doh

I told her that it was not true and I spend 10 minutes to explain that she had many other virtues that I adored and that her body was just a minor attraction amongst all her other fine attributes. Then she started crying and wanted to know what was wrong with her body that I did not like it!crying

But I don’t want to sound like a woman basher today and I don’t want to discuss women in general. It is one particular woman that mystifies me at this time.confused

We have been corresponding in non-romantical fashion for quite a while. Just talking, sharing our pains, our joys, our fears and expectations for the future. Every now and then she would say her good-byes and Poof! Her profile disappears with her and no contact until she comes back which may be a day, a week or a month later.writing

A short while after her last good-bye, I took my leave as well. When I returned on Friday, I found something recent from her in my inbox.cheering

I typed a reply and when I clicked the ‘Send’ button, CS informed me that her profile was hidden or deleted. I copied and pasted my message into my word processor, saved and tried again later. Same result. On Saturday I tried twice more. Still no joy. Last night (Sunday night) I logged in to find a rather snooty message from her. Said she can take the hint and won’t bother me again. I tried to respond and that time CS informed me that the member has blocked me from contacting her again. How now, brown cow?shock

Come on T! Get off it. Remember we are in different time zones and we are seldom on line at the same time. You cannot prevent me from replying and then still be upset about not getting a reply. I cannot reply while your profile is hidden.mumbling

Your Profile And You

Does your profile reflect the way you see yourself or the way other people see you? If you think that it is the same thing then you have another think coming. You are only who you think you are if most other people more or less agree with that view.professor

When you look in a mirror you only see what you want to see. Other people do not see what you see when you look in the mirror. And they do not notice the same things about you. Some will find certain characteristics more important than others. The things that you deem as important may be completely overlooked by them.mumbling

You may stand proud because of your honesty, but it is not written on your forehead. The fact that you never lie or cheat may go unnoticed to some. Your high morals may be taken for granted and they will be quick to notice your flaws while others may stare themselves blind into your virtues and not notice your shortcomings.uh oh

Some 20 years ago I asked a number of friends and family members to assess me and to write down my strong and weak points in order of importance. Both genders were represented and their ages varied from sixteen to seventy. I was about forty five at the time. I made a similar list.writing

It was an eye-opener. It revealed strong points (important to them) that I did not rate as worth mentioning and weaknesses that I was not aware of. Some of the points on my list appeared nowhere while some only showed up with the younger bunch and other traits were noticed only by the older people. The most similarities were among people of more or less my own age group.shock

So what was the purpose of the exercise? Well, it did give me a few things to work on.grin

You may believe that what other people think of you is not important, but if they see you vastly different than what you see yourself then you are mispresenting yourself.scold

So, I ask again. Who is represented in your profile? Is it the you that you see in the mirror or the you that other people see?dunno

Not that it is important, I just wondered.playball

See, the weekend has arrived. Enjoy it!wave

PS
I cannot find the word 'mispresenting' in any dictionary. I nevertheless used it in my blog because I cannot think of a better word. If anybody can suggest the proper word, I'd be very grateful.help

You wouldn't do it to a dog!

Nobody in there right mind would starve a dog or cat to death by cutting off it's food supply, but now by law it's fine to do it to a human being wow

"LEGAL permission will no longer be required to end life-prolonging care for patients in a permanent vegetative state, the UK Supreme Court has ruled today"

"The ruling will effect up to 24,000 patients with permanent vegetative state (PVS) and minimally conscious state (MCS), meaning they can now be effectively starved and dehydrated to death if the medical staff and relatives agree that this is in their “best interests"

Is it just me or is this just wrong on so many levels dunno
