WHY do we give?

So many of the world’s inhabitants are in need of basic survival resources, that those of us who are blessed often feel constrained to give what we can towards helping such persons. Hence we are all familiar with “giving”. The very word presents the idea of being selfless/altruistic, but do we always give out of selflessness?

Some of us give because we want to impress others, or repay others or get something in return, so that’s really being “selfish”, not selfless. Some of us give because we may have been coerced/forced to do so, so that doesn’t count either. But, some of us give because we truly ‘want’ to; ‘giving’ gives us joy, makes us feel useful, allows us to share with others as a way of bonding, expressing love or just being kind and compassionate, not expecting anything in return.
Yet even for those reasons, we may be seen as being selfish (but in a good waygrin ).

Jesus gave His very Life for us. Was He being selfish (but in a good way)? If so, what did He hope to gain for Himself by leaving His heavenly home, taking on the form of a mere man, living amongst us, being betrayed and tortured, then dying a cruel death? Yes, He lives again (no thanks to us), but even now He continues to give us His love and attention. I’ve often wondered if He ever questioned whether we are worth what He gave/gives. But for Him, it's all about His Motive/s.

For us to give 'selflessly', I think it depends on our motive/s also.

Blessings everyone.angel2 teddybear

THE CATHOLIC CHURCH...........WHO REALLY NEEDS IT?

Pope Francis has recently come out and publicly stated he sees no problem with homosexuality despite the fact his "guidebook" the Bible has much to say,all condemnatory! For those of you familiar, perhaps former adherants, with the sordid history of the mass pedophilia that has taken place in the Church over countless decades and the Popes' unwillingness to fully address and make REAL attempts at reform, this may come as no surprise. For anyone who has studied the history of the Catholic Church, s*xual immorality has been a constant PLAGUE since its inception,Nuns pregnancy,abortions,pedophilia,homosexuality.....Ad Nauseum! I wont even go into,at this time, the selling of indulgences(allowances for certain sins),collected door to door by willing monks and priests.....or all the other malfeasance that prompted Martin Luther to nail his grievances to the Church door, thus sparking the Protestant Reformation! There is considerable study of the Bible that indicates the "religious arm" of Babylon during the Great Tribulation is INDEED the Catholic Church! If this is true, when anti-christ arrives on the scene,it will be the Pope and the Catholic Church that acts as the "False Prophet", for those of you familiar with the verses describing him in Revelation, power will be given him to raise the dead antichrist when he receives the deadly wound, and, some say,it will be at this resurrection that Satan actually enters the anti-christs' body! This isn't something I am making up, it is all there for the diligent Bible student! as always, let those with eyes to see and ears to hear beware, be ready, God Bless America, President Trump, and all of you!angel group hug heart wings choir

WAS ZEUS UNIQUE?

Zeus is unique because he is the ruler, protector and father of all god's and humans.
Believing in one god is the same as believing in another. If you believe in Zeus, then it's the same as believing in Jehovah.

The "defects" of Jesus (part 1)

Hi everyone!wave

I still remember I once told you that humans are not anyone is perfect, but Jesus! However, recently I have discovered some things that can be said is quite interesting to know: there is a person who has studied the Bible in a very thorough and he raised a number of things that he declared that Jesus had ... some of weaknesses.
I would like to tell you about the interesting things, which I've read. And this blog is to talk about one of the weaknesses of Jesus.

"JESUS WEAK MEMORY"
Near the death, Jesus had the last conversation with the two thieves, who was hanging on the cross next to Him. One of them had uttered these words with Jesus: "Jesus, when you come into your kingdom you, remember me." And Jesus said to him: "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in Heaven" (Luke 23, 42-43).

Jesus did not examine his background to remind how much was the extent of his wickedness. Also Jesus did not consider serious offenses, or misdemeanors of him to just tolerated or temporary punishment somehow that appropriate for him. The thief has appealed His mind, then He was just "remembering" something that he was seeing him in front of His Face, and all unrighteousness before of the thief, Jesus had forgotten!!! The "forgetting" of Jesus reached level: immediately that day, He promised kingdom of heaven right for him (the thief)!
How funny that the Saints said: "This guy, he was a lifelong thief, and until his death, he also stole the Kingdom of Heaven, too!!!"

In the Gospel we see more evidence of a Jesus, Who had such bad memory. And so, through the fable "The merciful father", the event is clear. Luke says that the youngest of two children of the father had taken away the part of its heritage, to run away from home to live a life of dissipated, forgot his father, forgot his brother. But when money runs out, meet in hunger, he returned home to confess sins and did beg to the father gave him forgiveness ...

The father (the image of Jesus), not to mention the old sins, but only looked forward, waiting for the prodigal son to return home. As soon as he saw the boy from afar, he was overjoyed and he ran to catch the child, whom he thought is lost, but now has returned. The father was not bigotry to heckle old sins, but he had ordered servant: "Let get nice clothes, good shoes, precious ring for him, let do calf fat meat to feast, because my son is dead but now it's alive."

Luke. 15, 20-23
He was in the distance, the father saw his son. He had compassion, and ran and embraced his neck and kissed him. Then the son said," Father, I actually obtained crime against God and Father, I do not worthy to be called your son ...." But the father said to the servants, saying, " Bring quickly the best robe it on him, put a ring on his hand, and shoes at his feet, and then go catch the goat was slaughtered fattening we opened celebrations! ...".

We can see in these cases that the memory of Jesus seems to not work anymore!!!!!confused grin wave

John 13:1-15

Jesus Washes the Disciples' Feet
1 Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that His hour had come to depart out of this world to the Father, having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end. 2 During supper, when the devil had already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray Him,

3 Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come from God and was going back to God, 4 rose from supper. He laid aside His outer garments, and taking a towel, tied it around His waist. 5 Then He poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples' feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around Him.

6 He came to Simon Peter, who said to Him, “Lord, do you wash my feet?”
7 Jesus answered him, “What I am doing you do not understand now, but afterward you will understand.” 8 Peter said to Him, “You shall never wash my feet.” Jesus answered him, “If I do not wash you, you have no share with me.” 9 Simon Peter said to Him, “Lord, not my feet only but also my hands and my head!” 10 Jesus said to him, “The one who has bathed does not need to wash, except for his feet, but is completely clean. And you are clean, but not every one of you.” 11 For He knew who was to betray Him; that was why He said, “NOT ALL OF YOU ARE CLEAN.”

12 When He had washed their feet and put on His outer garments and resumed His place, He said to them, “DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT I HAVE DONE TO YOU? 13 YOU CALL ME TEACHER AND LORD, AND YOU ARE RIGHT, FOR SO I AM. 14 IF I THEN, YOUR LORD AND TEACHER, HAVE WASHED YOUR FEET, YOU ALSO OUGHT TO WASH ONE ANOTHER'S FEET. 15 FOR I HAVE GIVE YOU AN EXAMPLE, THAT YOU ALSO SHOULD DO JUST AS I HAVE DONE TO YOU.”

John 18-19:42

Jesus Arrested
18 When He had finished praying, Jesus left with His disciples and crossed the Kidron Valley. On the other side there was a garden, and He and His disciples went into it.

2 Now Judas, who betrayed Him, knew the place, because Jesus had often met there with his disciples. 3 So Judas came to the garden, guiding a detachment of soldiers and some officials from the chief priests and the Pharisees. They were carrying torches, lanterns and weapons.

4 Jesus, knowing all that was going to happen to Him, went out and asked them, “Who is it you want?”

5 “Jesus of Nazareth,” they replied.

“I am he,” Jesus said. (And Judas the traitor was standing there with them.) 6 When Jesus said, “I am he,” they drew back and fell to the ground.

7 Again He asked them, “Who is it you want?”

“Jesus of Nazareth,” they said.

8 Jesus answered, “I told you that I am he. If you are looking for me, then let these men go.” 9 This happened so that the words He had spoken would be fulfilled: “I have not lost one of those you gave me.”

10 Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. (The servant’s name was Malchus.)

11 Jesus commanded Peter, “Put your sword away! Shall I not drink the cup the Father has given me?”

12 Then the detachment of soldiers with its commander and the Jewish officials arrested Jesus. They bound him 13 and brought him first to Annas, who was the father-in-law of Caiaphas, the high priest that year. 14 Caiaphas was the one who had advised the Jewish leaders that it would be good if one man died for the people.

Let's Talk Man Talk...

"A man who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the LORD."

I had to share this, because it gives both men and women something to think about during the dating process especially, those who seek marriage.

"There are many problems in relationships. Too much jealousy, womanizing, selfishness, selfish-ambitions, and many relationships are based on lust, instead of true love. All these ungodly things cause fighting, cussing, and sleeping around from bed to bed with other women. There is a lack of respect for the other partner, not much intimacy or romance (this does not involve sex), between couples, defrauding each others with lies, and a lack of respect or fear of God, or for the other partner, or for self.

The Scripture passage Proverbs 18:22, does not say, "He (the man) who finds a woman finds a good thing." It clearly says, "He (the man) who finds a "wife" finds a good thing." This lets us know that when a man goes in search of a suitable mate to be his wife, he should be careful to look for a woman who already has the inner qualities of being a wife. He should spend time in prayer and fasting seeking God for the woman who has these qualities that God speaks about in His Word. But the man must also have the qualities God speaks about in I Timothy Chapter 3, if he himself is to be viewed and respected as the priest of his home after marriage, and as a wise husband or a real man, when he is seeking a wife.

All women are not qualified to be a wife... And all men are not qualified to be a husband..."
