Uh oh. Trump is in trouble again. This time from part of his (former) base.

Yesterday in Christianity Today;

Repent sinner ! You have allowed yourself to be used by a devil-like scammer
and fooled by Russian publicists successfully convincing you, that Trump was a better choice.
They misled you to believe that lies were the truth and the truth was lies.
Do research from REPUTABLE sources !
Have no faith in those who spout lies and shoot messengers, rather than intelligently discuss issues
without such horrid behavior. Use your brain !

What is the purpose of life?

“If you resist change, you resist life.” Sadhguru

“If your body, if your mind, if your emotions, if your energies are not functioning the way you want them to, then this is the worst kind of slavery, because somebody else decides what should happen within you. If somebody else decides what should happen around you, that itself you call as slavery. But if someone decides what should happen within you, is it not a more horrible way of being a slave? But please see, the whole world is in this slavery. The only consolation is everybody is like this.”

Significance of Easter

Hello Everyone

Does Easter have any religious significance for you personally?

For most of my life it was about chocolate eggs and a few days off work but, following an unexpected religious experience recently, this year I am looking at it through different eyes.

So, who else here is enjoying Easter in a religious way?

We all know nice, decent Muslims.

But there are some terrorists, and the nice ones should help to suppres these. Plus, the Holy Khoran would be better if a few passages commanding killing infidels woud change. Your thoughtss here? Aa.

St. John's Eve/Bonfire Night

As I look out my window, I see plumes of smoke billowing in many parts of the city.

'Rioting and looting?', you may ask worriedly.

No, it is Bonfire Night or St John's Eve. The fires are lit in every city, town, village and crossroads in the country.

Many who are now laughing and joking as they feel the heat of their fire, may not know exactly why they built it. But it is in their DNA to collect pallets and pieces of timber, and just about any other flammable material for days prior to tonight, and set the communal fire alight.

It is an ancient tradition passed down from generation to generation since times immemorial.

It was hijacked by Christianity probably in the 5th or 6th century, but it continues unabated.

Midsummer was an important time for our ancients the Summer Solstice. A time of long days, growth, and lovekiss

Star-crossed lovers used to jump over the fire hand in hand.

Maidens used to fast all day, then put a white table cloth on the table to eat her meal. Her future beloved was summonsed to then turn up bodily, or sometimes in spirit.

People used to gather the ashes from the dying fires and spread them over their fields for a good harvest.

Both communal and family fires were built. Stories were told around them, music played, matches made.

There are at least 5 communal fires within a kilometre of me at the moment.

I must now go and light a little fire of my own to connect with my ancestors, on this important night.

Do we really love God

How can some claim to love God and hate their own brother, sister, neighbor, friend, spouses.

1 john 4:20 says, if a man says, I love God and hateth his own brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his own brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen

The Source - Part 1

We are all connected
to that mystical primordial source
which underlies and transcends
all time and space

It floods the consciousness
lifting it to a dimension
that lies beyond
thought and language

To some
the source is manifested as a divine essence
with an attribute of the holy
that instils a sense of awe and worship

To some
the source is the essence of the creative spirit
that seeks expression
in original works of art

The source lies beyond thought and language
As Lao-tse says:
He who knows does not speak
He who speaks does not know

We are all connected to that source
for there is a fundamental unity
of everything in the cosmos
of which we are merely a part
