Ireland & Snakes ; Myth Debunked

Ah religion , stuffing the simple-minded with tales of inaccurate grandeur, in order to get them to be controlled to do ridiculous things like human sacrifices, wars, terrorism, worshiping something that doesn't even exist, money donations, and putting ashes on their face. laugh
There's fairy tales of gods, devils, people rising from the dead, heaven, hell, and amazing deeds by gods, religious leaders, and even saints. laugh

A common one this time of year, is that Saint Patrick drove all the snakes out of Ireland.
Indeed, religion is the cause that many people dislike snakes and thus favor such a fairy tale.
Snakes strike fear in the minds of many people, even the snakes that aren't the least bit dangerous to us.
Due to the bible & religious teachings, and the simple minds of some people, they accept snakes as the devil. devil laugh

Don't get me wrong, I am not particularly fond of venomous snakes, nor very large constrictors.
I certainly attempt to keep my distance from them and yet, have encountered several in real life and ....even on here. laugh
But to think of all real snakes as evil is so ignorant that it is a bit hilarious.
They are a natural animal that evolved to fill an environmental niche, not a demon.

Regardless, Saint Patrick did not drive snakes out of Ireland. Snakes are cold blooded animals
that require warm environmental temperatures and Ireland simply doesn't offer that environment outside. Ireland is an island surrounded by cold Atlantic Ocean waters. So, since at least the melting of the ice age, snakes can't slither there and warm water sea snakes would never swim there.
There are no snake fossils in the ground of Ireland. Thus, LONG before Saint Patrick, there were no snakes evolved within Ireland. Nonetheless, there ARE snakes in Ireland, just not wild ones.
Ireland's residents are permitted to have snakes as pets and some people there have.
Indeed, sometimes people have even let their snakes go to live in the wild (i.e. during difficult economic times). But apparently that is a death sentence to the snakes, who can't find an appropriate environmental temperature in wild Ireland.

Sorry to spoil yet another (i.e. religious) fantasy and to again educate you about reality. laugh

Still, I hope you have a terrific Saint Patrick's Day. wave

Day of the Lord is near

God said in bible in zephaniah 1:2-3. I will completely remove all things from the face of the earth.
i will remove man and beast,i will remove birds of the sky and fish of the sea,and the ruins along with the wicked.I will cut off man from the face of the earth.
zephaniah 1:14-18. Near is the great day of the Lord, near and coming very quickly.Listen, the day of the Lord.
In it the warrior cries out bitterly,A day of wrath is that day,a day of trouble and distress,a day of destruction and desolation,a day of darkness and gloom,a day of clouds and thick darkness,a day of trumpet and
battle cry,Against the fortified cities and the high corner towers,I will bring distress on men,so that they
will walk like the blind,Because they have sinned against the Lord. And their blood will be poured out like dust, and their flesh like dung.
Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to deliver them.On the day of the Lord,s wrath, all the earth
will be devoured in the fire of his Jealousy,For he will make a complete end, indeed a terrifying one,
of all the inhabitants of the earth.
So don,t be wondering about corona virus that is killing people,is spread in all the earth and will kill
more and more till end.
will be wars and many bad things that will kill people, will be many sicknesess too.
will be earthquakes, floods and many other things.
So repent and improve and believe and obey God and learn bible, that you may be saved.
There will be people who believe and obey God, they will be saved and live on earth when kingdom
of God comes. So obey two greatest commandments of God: Love God with all heart..,and love
your neighbours as yourself.neighbours are people you see daily.and then obey ten commandments
and so you will be leaded to be saved.

Talking to the Dead

I know a few on here will be interested in this, so for you few here we go.

I've been trying to get the video to load where this lady talks about her son dying.
For some reason it won't load so I'll give you a little back story.

This lady, as I understand, she was raised an Atheist, so she believed in nothing but what she could see. Her son was 20 yrs old and killed himself. A gun shot to the head.
His name is Erik, soon after he died he started coming through to several people and doing things around her house that only Erick knew about.

So to make a long story short she has been communicating with Erik through other people for years.

Erik also has been bringing people to the mediums to talk to people who are left behind.

I've watched a few of these and didn't really like the questions being asked of the spirit on the other side. But today I found one that was very interesting. I knew both people well enough to know their manner of relating information and it really came across in this video.

A Different Kind of Loneliness

Today I learned that being lonely and alone isn’t all that terrible. God shared with me that I don’t love myself and it’s apparent by my actions. I don’t go to bed on time, I drink too much, I don’t get ready for work, my hygiene is questionable and my weight has skyrocketed. He makes a fair point. I don’t have a comeback. Like I ever did anyway. So He said you are not ready for a relationship at all...at all! Today He said that very loud and clear. He finally told me why He’s been telling me no for years. All I could do was receive His gentle correction. I don’t know what to say. I don’t have anything to say. All I know is that I’m willing to stay single for Him now no matter how long it takes. This is a big step for me because I was never willing to do that before. But when God talks to you that clearly, you listen. There’s nothing you can do but listen. Recently I told a guy friend how I felt about him. He prayed to God about if we could be together. God told him to tell me no. So he came back to me and said God said not now. Gee I wonder why. I think He finally told me why because He knows I’m in love with this man. Totally in love. I’ve known this man for years and he’s the one. But I’m glad God finally told me today hey you’re messed up! I won’t give you anyone until you fix that. So this aloneness I feel is good. It’s different. It’s a purposeful loneliness. It will be guided by Him.

And thanks for reading. I needed to share this with strangers and not on Facebook. It’s too personal for Facebook. Sometimes you just gotta share with strangers.

Let’s Ban It

It’s about time we did away with science. People are always wanting to know how things work. Then off they go to their laboratories to do experiments, which lead to discoveries, which lead to more questions and more experiments, and yet more discoveries. We will soon know so much stuff that we won’t have any room left in our brains for it all.

Knowing too much about how the Universe works undermines our appreciation and need for God. At least once every week, people would put on their best clothes and congregate together to thank God for the beautiful flowers and all the birds that sing, but now the processes of biological evolution get all the credit for it. How uplifting is that?

Thank you God for giving us the atom, and all the wonderful particles that dwell within. It just doesn’t sound right, does it? We shouldn’t even know about atoms. It’s not our place to know about atoms.

Medical science is probably the worst. What’s the point of praying for your loved ones when some know-it-all doctor can just come along, prescribe something, and make them better? There was a time when all a doctor could do was scratch his head, attach a few leeches to you, and maybe wrap you in vinegar and brown paper if it was something really serious. All you could do was hope for the best but know not to expect it. Then you would get prayed for, and whatever the outcome, it was fine, because it was God’s will.

Even God’s patience has limits. Every time we figure out how to cure a disease, God has to create another one to take its place. How long before he gets so fed up that he throws the most terrible of incurable diseases at us to teach us a damn good lesson. Just think of all the things that used to kill, disable or disfigure us, that are now no more than a slight inconvenience. Who is going to turn to God and wait for days or weeks to find out how merciful he’s going to be when they can just pop down to the chemist’s -or drug store- and pick up something that will have them right as rain in no time?

We have gone too far; it is time to stop looking to science to fulfil all our wants and needs. Unless we go back to putting all our hopes and wishes into prayer again, and once more learn to live with disappointment, humanity will find itself wandering off into a spiritual wilderness, albeit in a better state of health.

Did the Pope commit Rank Heresy ?

"Pope Declares No Hell?"

So ran the riveting headline on the Drudge Report of Holy Thursday.

Drudge quoted this exchange, published in La Repubblica, between Pope Francis and his atheist friend, journalist Eugenio Scalfari.

Scalfari: "What about bad souls? Where are they punished?"

Bad souls "are not punished," Pope Francis is quoted, "those who do not repent and cannot therefore be forgiven disappear. There is no hell, there is the disappearance of sinful souls."

On the first Holy Thursday, Judas betrayed Christ. And of Judas the Lord said, "Woe to that man by whom the Son of Man shall be betrayed; it were better for him if that man had never been born."

Did the soul of Judas, and those of the monstrous evildoers of history, "just fade away," as General MacArthur said of old soldiers? If there is no hell, is not the greatest deterrent to the worst of sins removed?

What did Christ die on the cross to save us from?

If Francis made such a statement, it would be rank heresy.

Had the pope been speaking ex cathedra, as the vicar of Christ on earth, he would be contradicting 2,000 years of Catholic doctrine, rooted in the teachings of Christ himself. He would be calling into question papal infallibility, as defined in 1870 by the Vatican Council of Pius IX.

Questions would arise as to whether Francis is a true pope.

Mathematical equation...

According to estimates, there are roughly 4,200 religions in the world. The word religion is sometimes used interchangeably with "faith" or "belief system", but religion differs from private belief in that it has a public aspect.

So using simple math we can calculate that the odds of you picking the correct one are :

4200 to 1

Or

A 1 in 4200 chance of picking the true religion

Or 0.0002380952%

So putting 4200 people in a room everyone with God in their heart (just a different interpretation of that god) would be most entertaining ...
