Dancing Amidst the Fireflies

- Dancing Amidst the Fireflies -

The cycle of the year is nearly done, with seasons passing swift,
Samhain's time, departing, leaving naught but the snowy drift...
What mighty hand did fashion the wheel that turns things thus?
In what power may humankind, in need, place firm mortal trust!
Each soul, like moths to flames, will find in the hour of true need,
The way unto the light of its' maker, the source of a richer seed.
How like unto angels in flight, are mortals in their greatest plight,
Ascending and descending between darkness and blessed light!
God in all, and all divine in nature, unsuspecting of inner power,
Yet within the spirit, coiled like a serpent, lies a celestial flower.
In the hour of our bloom, we glow brightly with good, manifest,
For all to see the beauty thereof, and for none to dare contest.

Flitting like the fireflies, so swift the shadows cannot disguise,
The beauty of movements beyond mortal eyes 'neath the skies.

Look for the good in all creation, for it is there if your eyes open,
Not with mortal sight, but sight purer, will your perception ripen!
I am the hand that plays the pipes, which resound in the fields,
Whilst the sun warms the fading snows, and the chill air yields.
Of old the maidens danced around singing songs now forgotten,
Whilst shepherds tended flocks and made their living, begotten.
How long the years since I have gone from fields to valleys new,
Where now the fireflies dance at at night, before the virgin dew?
I wonder at the changing world, the seasons that are passing...
And I wish that love, like my immortal soul, could be everlasting.
Perhaps it is; I have only to reach out to the hand that answers!
Let me know when it is come; my love and I will be the dancers.

Flitting like the fireflies, so swift the shadows cannot disguise,
The beauty of movements beyond mortal eyes 'neath the skies.

Dancing amidst the fireflies, king and queen of our own evening,
An eternal night of wonders, filled up with all that is enchanting!
Let the music of the pipes play upon the winds by angelic hands,
For we must dance across the darkness, whirling past the lands!
Wither are we bound, let no mortal mind guess the sacred place,
Only that it will be an Eden anew filled with love's blessed grace.
One look upon her face, and I will know all these joys and more,
For love is joy everlasting, and fate has much joy for us in store.
So come to me, dear child of the night, come dance at my side...
Here amongst the pale, pale moon where velvet shadows abide!
Your gown shall be spun of the silks of elfin weave, of ages gone,
Fair shall be the dance we dare, hidden from the light of the sun!

Flitting like the fireflies, so swift the shadows cannot disguise,
The beauty of movements beyond mortal eyes 'neath the skies.

About this poem:
A poem I penned back in 2009, to celebrate the Samhain season of that year. Few times of year have as much power, mystery, and magic! Let us dance amidst the fireflies now, no matter the time of the year.
(I originally posted this at the Starlite Cafe poetry site back in 2009, under the name Grailknight777.)

Weekend

Life, return into me!
I want to feel free.
I want to brake out,
yell, scream and shout!

Alive, I need to be.
Else I don't recognize me.
Love, burn me deep within.
I want to dance, I want to spin.

Rhythm, come and caress!
Let me flow, forget the stress.
Music, wake me up!
Please, mister, fill my cup!

stay away.

when i see your heart so wet it makes me glow with faith again,
when i feel all held back its like the wind blowing my hair back,
when my feet are all blistered and sore its like they marched many more,
when thy arms ache like heel its like they pulled a car upon a cliff,
but most off all my brain pain it only accours when i think of that
stuff ,
a beach a ball a camera a holiday or maybe just a stay away will do.

Halloween Pumpkins

For many years I've carved
Halloween Pumpins large and small
Bats and Skeletons
Vampires and Demons
Scary Faces
Funny Faces
Vote 4 Obama
Vote 4 Kind
Ghosts and Graveyards
Witches and Sorcerers
Werewolves and Owls
I carved ten last year
This year I will carve five
Before that I carved three each year
From 1996 till 2009
I carved one a year from 1985 to 1995
So I've carved about 65
Carving pumpkins is quite easy
Get a serrated saw and some patterns
Put the pumpkin inside overnight
Or the pumpkin will be too wet to hold the design
Cut your lid at an angle so the lid stays on top
Scrape out the seed and pulp
Thin the pumpkin so your saw can go all the way through
Put on your pattern with scotch tape
Poke holes through the pattern into the pumpkin
Remove the pattern and follow it as you saw hole to hole
Carefully pop out the pieces
Use a plug-in light through hole in the bottom of your jackolatern
Carve it only one day ahead of display or day of to keep rot away
Enjoy and let others enjoy your halloween pumpkin!!

Happy New Year

Where has the year gone
2011 will be over soon
oh lets remember it with a tune
Ill sit in my old blue chair
just thinking about
my life how it changed
in this passed year
as I watch the deer out
my frosty window
down my face runs
a lonly tear
as I partly smile
about the new coming year
oh lets remeber it with a tune
as I turn my radio on
and tap my foot
and twist my hair
thats all curly and blonde
yes Iam just thinking of
the passed year
how happy my family is
and God was so good
to us all
oh but soon it will be
spring and ,summer , and
again fall
other year will end again
as I say with a grin
Happy New Year to you
hurry,,,its almost through

For a reason
For a joy
A Christmas tree
And Christmas lights
For all to see
For your delight
Red and white
Its all so clear
What a site
Christmas is here
All the treats
On his slay
All so sweet
He will say
HO, HO, HO Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas

Family time

For I see my family
all around a lot
business a lot of
sound conversations
here and there people
busy everywhere.
On in do not hide fill
your plate but you must
eat it all for that is
the grandma's rule to all.
For many come up late,
but there's always still
food to fill your plate.
Everyone is always nice
For there is alcohol to
calm the nerves, so sit
down next to the citronella
candle while it burns for
there is a lot to learn

Going Down

For the holidays seem
to pull me down.
Where as i feel my spirit
is on the ground.
Low onto the floor i go
sopping up my spirit so
i can get up enough
positivity to be able
to go on.
I put a smile on my face
and fake it for a while
you see because holidays
are just not for me.
My spirit is trodden
down and i try to lift
it up yet no success
do i see.
I just want happiness
for me real soon Lord
help me see the way
you want to get there
for me.

Mushrooms & Toadstools!

Mushrooms & Toadstools!

Pixies & Fairies in the forest dawning light

Playing under toadstools, nibbling on mushrooms such an awesome sight

Dancing in the mist of dawn, laughing at night’s passing bye, such a heavenly delight

Music of nymphs playing in the woodlands
Before the night passes by

Singing songs of laughter rising to the midnight sky

Dancing with friendly flying happy Fairies, why don’t you give it a try

Tiny Fairies flying amongst the swaying trees

Fireflies lighting up the woodlands like glowing little bees

Lighting up the forest so that everyone doth see

Magical music inviting us to come

Bring your children, daughter and your son

Wildly dancing in the forest beckoned by the early rising morning sun

Mushrooms and Toadstools in an eerie Christmas glow

Dressing up for the holidays

Cause it’s Christmas time in the forest … don’t you know?
