Frosty the Snowflake

Frosty the Snowflake
Was a very depressed little soul
With a six sided icy body
With icy projections
And a heart made out of dust
Frosty the Snowflake
Was a fairy tale they say
He was made of ice
And the children know
That he isn't very nice
There must have been some hate
In that speck of dust that ice was around
For when he fell from the sky
He invited billions of pals to come down
Frosty the Snowflake was as nasty as he could be
And the children say
At least he got me out of school for one day
Frosty the Snowflake knew the sun was hot that day
He said to his icy pals
Hey lets have some fun and flood all their homes away
Down to the village with debris in his and his buddies hands
Running here and there all around the square
Saying catch me if you can
He led them down the streets of town
Right to the traffic cop
And he only paused a moment when he heard him holler HELP!
Frosty the Snowflake had to hurry on his way
But he waved goodbye saying go ahead and cry
I'll be back with all my icy buds again some day
Bumpity, bump bump
Bumpity, bump bump
Look at Frosty go
Slamity, slam slam
Slamity, slam slam
Over the hills of snow

A parody of Frosty the Snowman. We have snow all week here, thankfully just the 1 to 2 inches a day stuff.

Christmas is For All

Trees bare from the depths of autumn,
winter stealthily creeps upon us,
leaves are missing for the lack of the sun,
but soon the christmas cheer will make such a fuss,

Our children and grandchildren will be full of highs,
wondering what gifts Dear Santa will bring,
on christmas day we will see the delight in their eyes,
all the joys of love will make our hearts sing,

This is the time of year when some of us are alone,
but with friendship that abounds within this site,
with loved ones dearly missed, and hearts like stone,
read the blogs and threads and smile with delight,

So instead of cussing and hurting those near,
think of all those who have no one to share,
try and think of those, just say a little prayer,
and show that in this world, some of us do care,

About this poem:
I was having a hard time remembering all the performances, there have been 11 so far. I was told this would be the last year for it due to lack of student help. I hope they are wrong. I enjoy the talent shows more than anything else on the show. My favorite so far was a girl dancing to Betty Boop, she was spot on.

I Wish You A Merry Christmas!

I Wish You A Merry Christmas!

A heavenly lighted Angel decorates our Christmas tree top for all to see!

Silver tinsel hangs glistening falling upon it’s branches, put there haphazardly by you and me!

Sparkling Lights like Shinning Stars adorn it with a Christmas glow

Spun Glass Fantasia colored balls fill it’s Boughs of Greenery, as we wait for the weather to start to snow!

Holiday Christmas train express circles it’s bottom ... underneath, puffing smoke as round and round it doth go!

Presents adorn their messages of love, neatly displayed upon the floor, beneath our wonderful Christmas tree

Oh! I see one there and I thinks it’s there for me!

I see another small one, it’s card says it’s for you …
Jewelry comes in small packages!

I wonder what it can be?

Christmas songs are playing old fashion music of years gone bye!

Christmas cheer bottles are open, pouring happy laughter for you and I

Caught you under the mistletoe, Ooh! I don’t want to let you go!

Come here! Santa’s helper, I want your sweet kisses, as if you didn’t know!

Tiny snow flakes are tapping on our window panes
Dancing upon the snowman smiling face, guarding our house alone out in the cold and misty snow

Our tiny dog is barking, someone’s singing Jingle Bells and standing at our door

Wishing you all a Merry-Christmas and hoping all is well!

Ah! Christmas Day is coming soon … as if you couldn’t tell!

Merry-Christmas one and all!

Closed For Thanksgiving

Why are the stores open Thanksgiving?
Don't they care?
Thanksgiving is for family
Not greed
Not 8 PM sales
Thanksgiving is for football
Thanksgiving is for floats
Spiderman, Snoopy, Charlie Brown
Shame on you Pizza Hut for firing that manager
All he wanted was his employees to have a day with their families
Shame on you Walmart and the rest
You don't need to start this Black Friday till Friday
I already did my shopping on November 1
So I could relax and enjoy the holiday
Singing Christmas songs, lighting my tree, and eating too much
Please
I'm begging you all
Put up those old signs
Closed For Thanksgiving

About this poem:
I remember that it used to be that the only businesses that were open for Thanksgiving were gas stations, and that was it. No grocery stores, department stores, or resturants were open on Thanksgiving so the workers could at least have two days off a year.

Christmas Tree Ornaments

I hang you up
You are so special
Each of you have a different meaning
The fish ornament I made in second grade in 1976
The 50 year old ornaments I rescued from my parent's auction
White House ornaments from the around 2005
Ornaments from my brother moving out of his house in 2006
A Simpson's ornament from Burger King
An ornament I found in the trash
An angel with my middle name on it
A school house from Jennifer, a 6th Grader in 1995
Plain red, blue, gold, silver, and green ornaments
Hockey puck from the Dubuque Fighting Saints
Snoopy on skis
Cartman and Stan from SouthPark
Candy canes
Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer, how I could relate to you
Santa
Snowman and Snowwoman
You all hang on my artifical tree
I bought it with my starter ornaments, lights, and garland in 1996
So this will be the 18th Christmas for my 5 and a half foot tree
My light will be blinking in 10 different patterns for all to see

About this poem:
Put up my tree today. I put my Christmas tree up the Saturday before Thanksgiving. I try to add one ornament each year to change up the look. I prefer cartoon characters if I can find the right one.

Christmas Magic

Christmas Magic

The air is full of expectation
mystery lurks round every corner
the presents passed out bring exhalation
none of this possible without your partner

Close your eyes, let go and think back
to the days of your childhood
remember believing in Santa and his sack
nowadays what is the likelihood

The magical spell of Christmas
is surely in the special fragrant smells
frankincense assaults me at mass
brings memories flooding back in swells

The warmth of feelings
as friends gather around
sitting down to dumplings
makes my heart abound

Dumpling in Scotland we make a fruit dumpling that is around 2 feet wide placed in an unused pillow case and steamed served hot Christmas day or New Years Eve and then cold or fried they usually last 8-12 days

Santa Santa

Santa Santa
Slip a Packer's jacket under the tree for me
Been an aweful good boy
Santa Santa
So hurry down the chimney tonight
Santa Santa
A 2014 corvette too
Light blue
I'll wait up for you Santa
Santa Santa
So hurry down the chimney tonight
Think of all the fun I've missed
Think of all the gals I haven't kissed
Next year I could be just as good
If you'll check off my Christmas list
Santa Santa
I want a jet ski
For me
Been an angel all year
Santa Santa
So hurry down the chimney tonight
So hurry
Tonight

About this poem:
A parody of Eartha Kitt's Santa Baby. I'm sure there lots of other things I would add to the list, like a house and millions of dollars so I could retire in luxury.

Santa Slay

Santa has had to deliver presents once a year for 1,000 years
He made a bet with an angel
If he could not put his curling rock closer than the angels
Without the rock going into a fishing hole then he would have to be nice
Instead of killing people
So the bet has expired and now Santa doesn't care
If you're naught or nice
All he wants to do is kill as many people on Christmas as he can
He kills a dog by kicking it into a fan
He kills a woman by drowning her in the egg nog
Santa puts a turkey leg in a man's head and through his brain
Santa uses a tree star as a ninja star and kills a woman with it
He pins the Jewish deli owner to the wall with a menorah in the neck
He has his musk ox eat a valet
He kills a mugger with a candy cane
He runs over grandpa with his sleigh
Santa electrocutes a bouncer at a strip club with a stripper pole
Yes Virginia there is a Santa Claus
And he's coming to get you!

About this poem:
I start watching Christmas movies on November 1 through Christmas. This was my first Netflix rental for this Christmas season. I highly recommend it unless you're not into seeing Santa as a bad guy.
