Christmas Blues Poem

Embedded image from another site

It's Christmas time
only coming once a year
Salvation Army people singing
soon family will be here...

Light the candles
let's decorate the tree
lot's of nice presents
to open for you and me...

Baby Santa Claus is coming
Jingle Bells times three
I hear you in the kitchen
cooking up a Christmas Jamboree...

It's all about peace on earth
there's not many stockings on the wall
love is what counts baby
good will towards all...

Just you and me
a fire before the tree
as I cuddle with you
on this Christmas Jamboree..

Happy Poet’s Corner Holidays 2014

Though I celebrate Christmas and you may celebrate something else,
may the pillars of goodness and love in all faiths serve as foundations
for bridges of knowledge and understanding to be built toward compassion.
Rejoice! Darkness is bent toward light by winter’s solstice transformations.

***

To all those individuals behind monikers with profiles set
to criteria through which my thank-you notes cannot get,
each of you should know that your kind words are valued
and your feedback heard, most gratefully, word for word.

To all of the poets and others who read, to a poster’s delight,
and take time to leave comments, your appreciation to show
(for it is through your kind comments each poet does grow),
I wish you Happy Holidays and bid you a peaceful good-night.

Christmas joy

As I walk along the streets
All I see and hear
Are little boys snd girls with their scarfs and mittens
screaming with Christmas joy
They see Santa sitting on his sleigh
Rainderrs in tow
Christmas carolers
Seeing merrily
While standing under the beautiful christmas tree
The young and old laughing so joyfully
Holding hands stealing kisses
I can't help but smile
That was me not long ago
Skipping down the streets merrily
Here's wishing all of you
A very merry Christmas
Filled with much love, peace and joy !

A Christmas Snow------monorhyme

A Christmas Snow

The soft snow flakes fall gently coating
the land, which to white is turning.
Trees brushed white stand gleaming
as Christmas dawns with sunlight bursting.

A hush settles as people start stirring
emotions high, children in the snow delighting.
Soft and pristine white as the wind sets it flurrying
its touch a whisper as it brushes cheeks now settling.

Magical flakes of pure white glistening and sparkling,
while icicles translucent adorn trees decorating
their branches and trunks with colour reflecting.
The people filled with awe as Jesus they are welcoming.

Holiday Wishes To You And Yours

Holiday Wishes To You And Yours

When the first true cold winds began to blow,
autumn soon shifted, and the first frost came.
Complaints for summer’s end were often heard,
but the year went by too fast, all the same.

So time to unpack the cold weather gear,
and yes, turn our thoughts to the holidays.
We all shall gather around the table,
to count our blessings these past weeks and days.

There’ve been challenges for many of us.
We bow our heads for each answered prayer.
We share and we speak to those we have lost.
We set a place for those who can’t be here.

May we raise a glass and offer good cheer.
May we light a candle and not forget,
all the dear ones who make life worth living.
And so speak with kindness and not regret.

May we all join hands and then our hearts,
never letting go of the peace we feel.
This is the season of faith and magic;
the LOVE we share and a God blessed meal.

A time to ponder all that is sacred;
the condition of our beliefs and soul.
A time to forgive and release with joy,
all that would prevent us from being whole.

Thank you Lord for every single blessing.
My life is a gift you hold in your hand.
When I have done what I am meant to do,
I will walk with you and I’ll understand.

Bless Us All That We Walk In Love
Ever Hand In Hand

A Caroling Acrostic

"Carol of the Bells", from faraway Ukraine
"Hark! The Herald Angels Sing", we hear again, and again
"Rocking Carol", though familiar, is an old Czech tune
"I Heard the Bells”, we all enjoy, and cannot be heard too soon

"Silent Night", Holy Night, from Austria to thee
"Tannenbaum, O Tannenbaum", about the Christmas tree
"Mary's Boy Child", in the charts, year on year, on year
"Angels We Have Heard on High", always brings a tear

"See, Amid the Winter's Snow", and we end right here

About this poem:
This 'surprisingly' just won a contest for a 'Christmas' acrostic. I think it was the idea of using the carols rather than the actual quality of the poem, that and the fact that there were only 19 entries. But what the hell... a win is a win :)

Christmas Star

In Bethlehem on Christmas Eve there shone a mighty star
To guide the three majestic kings who traveled from afar
The object of their searching was a child born that night
Whose birth in a dreary manger stall belied his holy light

And now on Christmas Day we’ve come to celebrate His birth
And give our thanks to what He’s wrought upon this planet Earth
So join our merry band this day, and sing a cheerful song
That we may rest our hearts and souls, and perhaps to sing along

Dear Santa

Maybe I should ask for a dog

after all they are loyal, protective

loving and a good companion

They never talk back and expect so

little in return just food and shelter

and a little love in return

What more could I ask for

About this poem:
Just thinking of some of the things that entertain me. I'm still waiting for a song this year that has my interest. Royal by Lorde was my last popular song I liked, not counting Weird Al's last album.

Presents

What would I want to have if there were no limits on me?
Santa would have a majic sack to give them all for free
A new porsche would be great
Along with a daily meal of steak
A round of golf anywhere on the planet each week
My own jet that would be sleek
A end to any kind of work
No more hanging out with a boss for a jerk
Skiing in Switzerland would be nice
Having my own studio where I could carve some ice
Friends to play video games with me
They would even want to go ski
A girlfriend who is nice and hot
She would be excited to get what I've got
Peace, love, and joy would be my daily feeling
Away from me hate, jealous, and fear that keeps me reeling
Lonliness would be a thing of the past
As well as perfect teeth that would last and last
The ability to eat anything without consequence
The desire to live free and take a chance
The ability to dance any dance
An endless supply of money
And a woman to wake me up by saying "I Love You Honey!"

About this poem:
The list is endless. I got a newspaper on Thanksgiving and it weighed five pounds. Advertisements for an endless shopping list of great deals. The only thing that left me feeling empty, besides the materialism, was having people work on Thanksgiving.
