Today

There was a time I lived for tomorrow not for today.
In a rush to fulfill my dreams. Letting nothing stand in the way.
Reaching high I didn't mind felt the world was there for me.
Then I reached a time of living life in yesterday.
Today was to painful to see.
All my dreams seemed to fade as I looked at what was left.
Just memories of a life I loved, just hanging in the past.
Then I woke to find life moving way to fast.
And I craved to live again.
To feel the thrill of life.
To enjoy till the end.
To live each moment as it comes.
To live life till its done.
So no more living in the past for it is already gone.
The future is not here who knows I might never see.
So I will take the right here the right now for me.
So I will take each day as if tomorrow may not be.

My Melody

Embedded image from another site

Her body glistens in the light
I've longed to play with her all night
I pick her up and hold her steady
Take a deep breath, we're both ready
Anticipation grows to show her what I've learned
From deep within my heart my passion burns
I gently grab her neck and pull her near
My right hand on her body the time is here
As I trace her curves with my fingers
The smell of sweat begins to linger
Slowly now I plug it in
A moment of silence as we begin
I hold her steady, we both are ready
I begin to sing she begins breathing heavy
The sounds and feelings grow more immense
The movements become more intense.
She screams and screams from love in motion
When my heart stops as the door swings opens
My mom walks in and with a frown
Says, "Your guitar is too loud, please turn it down"

About this poem:
The twentieth anniversary of Only one of the coolest bands ever "Weezer". They were a big influence for me then and now with my music playing- writing, and poetry. The song below always reminds me of good times because Ive been playing in my garage since I was ten. Wow twenty years, I never really accepted I was getting older until I heard Pearl Jam followed by Led Zeppelin on the classic rock stations.cheers

"In The Garage"
I've got the Dungeon Master's Guide.
I've got a 12-sided die.
I've got Kitty Pryde
And Nightcrawler too
Waiting there for me.
Yes I do, I do.

I've got posters on the wall,
My favorite rock group, KISS.
I've got Ace Frehley.
I've got Peter Criss
Waiting there for me.
Yes I do, I do

In the garage, I feel safe.
No one cares about my ways.
In the garage where I belong.
No one hears me sing this song.
In the garage.

I've got an electric guitar.
I play my stupid songs.
I write these stupid words
And I love every one
Waiting there for me.
Yes I do, I do.

In the garage, I feel safe.
No one laughs about my ways.
In the garage where I belong.
No one hears me

No one hears me sing this song.

THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS ...

SOMETIMES I SIT AND PONDER
'BOUT MOST THINGS IN MY LIFE
LIKE GROWING UP ...AND CHILDREN
A HAPPY HOME ..A WIFE
THEN... JOY..AT LAST IT HAPPENS
EACH DAY SHARED IS BLISS
EACH MORNING UPON WAKENING
IS STARTED WITH A KISS

AS TIME MOVES ON WE WONDER
WHERE....IF IT EVER ENDS
DEEP DOWN INSIDE WE HOPE NOT
BUT THEN IT JUST DEPENDS
ON WHAT OUR DESTINY UNFOLDS
WHATEVER'S MEANT TO BE
OF WHERE OUR JOURNEY TAKES US
LIFE'S PLANS FOR YOU OR ME

A THOUGHT BEFORE WE THINK IT
IDEA YET TO PERCEIVE
IS SET FOR US BY GOD HIMSELF
THAT'S WHAT I BELIEVE
SO AS EACH NEW DAY PASSES
AND NEW THOUGHTS FILL MY MIND
I WISH THAT YOU COULD SHARE WITH ME
A JOY FOR ALL MANKIND

NO TEARS ..NO PAIN ..BUT LAUGHTER
MEET AND LOVE AND LEARN
SHARE A LIFE OF RAPTURE
IS THAT NOT WHAT WE YEARN
BE HAPPY ... BE CONTENTED
WALK HAND IN HAND AND ON
UNTIL THAT LAST GREAT MEETING
IN A PLACE SO FAR BEYOND

Unde Sunt Zapezile (Where Are The Snows)

Fiecare celebru pare sa fi plecat
Nimeni nu le aminteste în viitor
Faima este ca pulberea pamântului
Omul traieste cu ambele picioare în mormânt
O spune-mi, dragi prieteni - adevarul
Unde sunt zapezile de odinioara?

Fapte bune si dragoste neimpartasita merge
Toate frumusete piere sub soare
Lucrari in timpul lui pasaj omului se naruie
Nu a mai ramas din domenii fructuoase nimic
Verde verde a dat cale de a deserturi
Unde sunt zapezile de odinioara?

Muntii sunt purtate în functie de timp
Crearea ia cursul firesc

Every one famous seems to be gone
No one recollects them in the future
Fame is like the dust of the earth
Man lives with both feet in the grave
O tell me, dear friends - the truth
Where are the snows of yesteryear?

Good deeds and love go unrequited
All beauty perishes under the sun
In time's passage man's works crumble
There is nothing left of fruitful fields
Verdant green gave way to deserts
Where are the snows of yesteryear?

Mountains are worn down by time
Creation takes its natural course
Everything that lives is bound to die
And so the world is at once renewed
It begins all over again as always
Where are the snows of yesteryear?

When you ask me if anything lasts
It would be our sorrows and laments
Our lost loved ones come with them
All that remains is fleeting happiness
Do not ask if you don't seize it now
Where are the snows of yesteryear?

I look at what winter brings with it
Beautiful white adorns the land
And relentless cold is its handmaiden
Then I ask again where is the snow?
Alas, its the snow no longer with us
Where are the snows of yesteryear?

The question asked the answer given
Look at all that snow in front of you
It will not last beyond a few days time
Where my snow, have you gone now?
Thus the refrain of my song you hear:
Where are the snows of yesteryear?

About this poem:
Francois Villon wrote a famous ballad in the Middle Ages with the famous interrogative question about the passing order of things.

I have composed a ballad that invokes it though its more about the snow which we only get to enjoy for the short time its here.

And in life, our happiness is fleeting like the snow.

The clencher

When the sun comes up
and I hear the day begin
I try to smile, to say S'up
every now and again
I love to hear you laugh
I love to hear you sing
I love to see you you smile
every now and again
Yet you are so far
Yet almost as near
You have never said hello
You would'nt know me on the street
Isn't that the clencher?
Life's a kick in the pants

Shades of Blue..part 1

Old Jim,he takes the album down
Wipes the dust off with a frown
He cant believe another year
Has come and gone
He slips the vinyl from its sleeve
Being careful not to leave
A thumbprint
Where it does not belong.
He turns on his old pioneer
A relic,of those bygone years
And looks on, as the needle finds the groove
Then he pours himself a Scrumpy Jack
And reaches for his ciggy pack
As that smooth silky vinyl sound
Seeps through.
Jim picks up the record sleeve
And turns it over,to reveal
A rainy winters day in Stephens Green
And three young guys, with stars in their eyes
Rockin n Rollin under leaden skies
In that January scene
In nineteen seventy two
Now forever captured
In Shades of Blue.

Jim remembers that time so well
The sights, the sounds, and that Liffy smell
When he and Sue travelled up from the sticks
To have some fun amongst the city slicks
And he will never forget that fateful night
As they strolled hand in hand,
Under Graftons street lights
Fresh from a picture show, still full of life,
And looking for some action,
Of the musical type
That's when they caught the sound
Of an old blues beat,
Creeping out from a side street
And plucking at the heartstrings,
A lonely guitar
Calling one and all to the Zodiac bar.
In a trancelike state, they were drawn inside
Slow blues were calling,
And there was nowhere to hide
As down the narrow stairway they went
And into that dark and shadowy basement
Sue hanging on tight, for all she was worth
In her platform boots, and denim skirt.
As their eyes grew accustomed,
To the smoke and the dim
They began to move around
And he got some drinks in.
It was then that they first set eyes,
On Phil, and the boys
They were playing in a corner
And making plenty of noise
He made his way up front, with Sue on tow
And he could see that the big man
Was the star of the show
Yes,..the guitarist was inspired
And the drummer was on fire
But for charisma and charm
Phil was the one to admire
And the fans did just that
As they crowded right in
Everyone wanting a piece
Of that would be black king
And Phil just stood there, with that big grin
Yeah man,he was taking it all in
There were rockers, and bikers and posers in suits
Groupies, and snoopies and a few cowboys in boots
All lost in the moment,as Phil laid it on
Yeah, those guys they could do nothing wrong
Everyone was getting up,and going down
But then, thats the way it was.
When the Lizzy boys were in town.
Old Jim remembered Sue having a bit of a laugh
When he went to ask for an autograph,
Well Phil answered the request with a little jest
And duly signed it in his very best

Just then, from inside the cover,
An old polaroid glides
Faded in colour and bent at the sides
Old Jim retrieves it
That snapshot in time
As the music continues
To dip and to climb
On the back of that old picture
That has now started to blister

Best wishes to Jim and Sue
From Phil and the Thin Lizzy boys
January 1972.

Unknowing
as Most

I began my stride
My path

Like a marathon

Smidgens of hand outs

at times

A

Wealth
Simply smothered in Knowledge
What feast!

Filtered
Yes

Back then

(Knowledge)
It will
and

would caress

Yet Be So Far Away
Tucked away for many years

BUT
CAPTURED!
Waiting to dance

They stood at the sidelines
finish line ahead

"Isn't it a ribbon?"

I just ran
sweeping all

There I halted my stride

LAST

"Time of impact?"

HAPPINESS!!!!!!!!!
Cloaked in

"which emotiion would YOU "Take"

OR
CHOOSE

Yes

I

as walk

run

fall

into our storms

Circling

around me

"Thinking
This must Stop"!

"I BREATHE"

So

"It's up to me"

....I thought so....

About this poem:
Number one is symbolic of the sun,

Spiritual Meaning of Number One One: One primarily deals with strong will, positivity, pure energy. The number One reflects new beginnings, and purity. The symbolic meaning of number One is further clarified when we understand One represents both kinds of action: physical and mental. This combined with Ones urgency for new beginnings, we begin to see Ones recurring in our lives indicates a time to exert our natural forces, take action, and start a new venture. One encourages us our action will be rewarded in kind.

Ms. Pacman

I first played you in 1981
You were a lot of fun
Eating cherries, strawberries, peaches, pretzels, and apples
Eating pears and bananas made you able
To have two children later on with your Pacman
After dots, power pellets, and blue ghost you ran
A beauty mark on your cheek and a bow on you head
You kept yourself well fed
So here's to you Ms. Pacman who is 35 years young
To all the people who played you were a lot of fun!

Emotions

The world seems so full, when we're happy
Full of life and abundance of good things!
We see rainbows that never were, visible...
We see the sea so bright and blue kissing the shores
We see the birds and hear them singing throughout!
We see life waiting just to be lived till we're old and grey!

We see all the world in darkness, when we're sad
So blurry and not showing signs of ever clearing!
Bleakness dwells within four walls and outside too...
Remorse follows us throughout the day
Drawing us into recklessness and withdrawing
Emotions that cannot be mended for ever till we lie silent!

Superbowl Commercials

I remember the frogs
Bud
Weis
Er
I remember the farting horse and the candle
I remember the monkeys in the office
The koala holding a coffee cup getting punched
The Budwieser Clydesdale horses
Talking babies
The fat dog losing weight
Ferris Bueller selling cars
FedEx delivering helium balloons to the munchkins
The running of the squirrels
Britney Spears Pepsi ad
Castaway parody
Terry Tate tackling employee taking too long on break
Alien saying "Why don't we use FedEx"
Dog biting man on crotch to get Bud Light
Bad dog
Bear dancing with Burt Reynolds
The majic frig is back
Caveman losing job and getting stepped on by a dinosaur
David Letterman and Oprah watching the Colts and Bears(Colts won)
Face slap replacing the fist pump
There were some really funny ones
This year not so funny
Not really
Four million dollars for a 30 second ad
I guess they can't afford to be as funny any more

About this poem:
I have always looked forward to the Superbowl ads, especially the really funny ones. This year was a big letdown in that department. The team I picked did really well though. The Seattle Seahawks crushed the Denver Broncos 43-8.
