LOOK IN MY EYES!

Look in my eyes and see  They will tell you true  Look in my eyes and feel  My sincere love for you.  Look in my eyes and see  My clean tears will not lie you  Look in my eyes and feel  The desire for you.

Time in a Bottle

Time is the sand
That through my fingers slip
Relentlessly marching, moving on
Leaving us behind

Your face before me
A shadow so vague
Your memory deeply buried
The lines, the curves
The sweet, sweet smile
An echo barely lingers
Your voice whispers
From ages long past
Within my lonely soul
Your touch I feel
Upon my skin
How time has dulled the senses

Oh how I wish that memory
In a bottle you could keep
Take a sip, refresh yourself
The past to relive

...'OL ROMY'...

Now 'Romy' was a friend of mine
He stood 'round 14:3
He had a damn good temperament
Well...pretty much like me
Was kind and honest ..did his job
He never questioned orders
we'd chased a lot of cattle tho'
And crossed a lot of borders

There's only once that springs to mind
When he was only three
T'was my fault things got hectic
And 'Ol Romy' would agree
But that's a few years bygone hence
When I was young and green
So pull a stump and settle down
And visualize the scene

I rolled my swag and packed my gear
And walked towards my horse
Happy in my chosen work
A drovers life of course
I placed the sweat cloth on his back
And eased the saddle up
I tightened up the cinches
Then started to mount up

I swung loosely to the saddle
And gathered up the reins
Then 'Romy' just exploded
Like a ruptured water mains
His shoulders lifted rigid
He caught me by surprise
I saw myself in orbit
Right before my very eyes

The gap got real wider
T'ween the saddle and my rear
And I knew that leaving leather
Was very very near
But in determination
With all the strength to find
I hung on for my 'crown jewels'
Were foremost on my mind

He bucked and rose and grunted
I knew something was amiss
For never had 'Ol Romy'
Ever acted up like this
It seemed like it was ages
But was seconds I am sure
Then I got off and left him
I was feeling rather sore

He'd sent the camp gear flying
He had kicked a lot of sand
I looked and there stood 'cookie'
With a shovel in his hand
The look he gave was fit to kill
As I sit here thinking that
If I had spoke a single word
He would have broke my back

But I had turned to 'Romy'
Something was not right
I had to find a reason
For his sudden airborne fright
So I took my gear down off him
To check it thoroughly
To find a damn Nagoora Burr
Was ne'er the death of me

From that day on I never missed
A time to check my 'tack'
I always check my saddle cloth
And brush my horses back
T'was only once in his whole life
'Oh boy' he let me know
And for years we went on droving
North and South with Mobs we'd go

With mobs from up in Queensland
Cross borders far and free
Then down the old 'Strezlecki..
To the railhead at Marree
Where we'd load them into wagons
Then turn our heads for town
To start the next job planning
Another mob to bring on down

But the Droving days are over
Road trains ply their faster trade
Still the Drover has his memories
Of all the trips he made
It's an era I'll remember
Up until my dying day
And I'll not forget 'Ol Romy'
My old mate of yesterday..

my previous and hopeless life

like a life shattered
in a grain of sand
splattered on jagged edges
of painful broken memories
must I have to remember
the torments of my past
uncompromising to my hopes
in my younger years?
choices that were in front of me
I dared not pick
but lived the life I thought
that was full of promises?
if mistakes were made
I am sure as hell
want to forgive
fast forward my reels
30 years in the making
I still see myself
in the same blunders
over and over again
my heart shattered
my soul broken
my spirit lifeless
my eyes shut
my tears dried out
would I ever learn?
one thing I know,
I don't ever want to
live the same me
in any dimension
ever again...

Maple Old

Maple old, maple old,
Maple old it knocks on door,
It's inviting us with friends to go out for stroll.
Tell me why, what goes on,
Why I’m feeling such a joy?
It’s because I see you walking on the sidewalk.

Oh snowfall, that snowfall,
It’s been long since showfall’s gone,
It’s as though the spring as guest has come to see us.
Tell me why, what goes on,
Why I’m happy, why feel joy?
It’s because you have just given me a big smile.

Open eyes, open eyes,
Look above at dome of sky,
Look at how it’s shining clean and bright above us!
Tell me why, what goes on,
Why accordion plays this song?
It’s because one heart is pining for musician.

About this poem:
Just a song from the olden times we used to like very much, just a lyrical melody touching strings of heart, a nostalgia for the magic of spring, for the magic of Love. Everybody has some very good things to remember. You can follow the lines in English, while enjoying the music. The song is performed by Maya Kristalinskaya, now long gone - a beloved singer of those times.

The Impossible Dream!

The Dream

As old age progresses

I do not want to walk alone,
In front of, or 3 paces behind

I would like to walk side by side
Through life’s ebbing journey

To hold hands in fond embrace,
Touching hearts with the deepest of feelings within

Wanting an entwinement of happiness
A happy companion spirit with a person
Of desire!

To be smiled upon while looking into the depths
Of endearing eyes.

Is it still possible to share the bounty of one’s fading days?

To win
The Impossible Dream!

Confused Poet
Dream not of the Past!

Irish People

Thanks George Carlin
I still listen to your jokes
Since I discovered you in 1992 with the comedy album
Jammin In New York
Thank you Michael Moore
You spoke of issues through your movies
Issues like job loss, murder in the U.S.A, 9/ll, and health care
I appreciate you U2
You inspire through your music with songs like
One, Where The Streets Have No Name, With Or Without You, and Vertigo
You're awesome Cranberries
I love Zombie, Dreams, and Linger
You're funny Dennis Leary
With your songs like the A#$%^&@ Song
And Life's Gonna Suck When You Grow Up
You're devilishly funny Leprechaun
I especially loved you in Leprechaun 3 when you went to Las Vegas
Thanks to all the Irish people who have brightened my day

One Journey Thru Life

It was dark and scary
I could not see
Just feel
I wanted to turn and run
But that was not to be

Each step I took
I took in fear
And then I felt it
I knew all to clear.

No going back
that wasn't to be
So I went bravely
Alone just me

I made it
to the other side
So sad
A piece of me
had died

Stronger

swept away with words and gentleness,
the woman inside melted and became whole slowly over so long.
His gentleness made the world seem like a magical world,
the girl reacted and he healed her.

And then one day she lost him and she cried,
but he is a Man who was given to her for a short time only,
now she knows He is happy and ok.

The bubble burst open suddenly one day and the warm sun shone,
her wings opened and she lifted her face to the sun, she smiled.

Now is the time to fly, the idea that there is a Man strong enough
will never die, but until she finds Him she will live and love with her
whole heart.
