Handsome Man Club

After many a drink
in some far away pub
I once or twice fancied
joining a handsome man club...

Hmm it first seemed a plan
the only prerequisite
that one be a handsome man...

Realizing error or room for reasonable doubt
or possessing picture proof to show
that I could very well be left out
after gazing in foggy hanging bedroom mirror...

Seeing no dashing movie star look
thinking my name will never be found
in some shady Hollywood agents address book...

After coming down to cold sobering reality
perhaps even calling this absurd idea a day
my love hugged and whispered to humble me
she would always love me unconditionally anyway...

Even if I am some wild weed or flowery shrub
I was her forever lover and eternal best friend
that I didn't have to be in any handsome man club..

Weathered Barn

Weathered barn
All idle and gray
Through vacant doors
Hollowed black
Sills rotting with decay
Another year stands
By autumn woods
As colors fade away
Day by day
One by one
To all are gone
Once long ago
You were young
New and green
Like the trees
Make fallen logs
In late spring
In a skidder hauled
To the rushing saw
At the watermill
Down by the falls
One by one
Day by day
Board by board
The builders
Made you strong

that guy

you speak to me in certain circumference of

yet not knowing ever the distance

not to even ask the real grated

upon the beauty
of link

to
wave my hand
i understood

leave not a woe
sit
like me
gush the feel, it was a time

a miss is strength upon the wave
foremost

stranger
coming in with the tide

Thoughts on a rain soaked morn.

Inclement climes set early in today
lacking mercy at dawn's soft hour,
the lake now ruffled torn and dour,
as sad the world was hard at play,

Thus to counter my abysmal gloom
and annihilate natures harsh brooding storm,
sojourned I to my favour'd cosy room,
lit the lifeless fire, then my inglenook was warm,

Thus contented I, relaxing with the blazing air,
thought I of thee soft faced and fair,
tho' dull outside, indulged I in vision's care
whilst inclined upon my rocking chair,

There, dare but I, my eager love set free
and behind the curtained wall discover
hallowed time where fond thoughts prevail,
and life's emotional knot ne'er be severed;

reality of hate

entering life's core
center crust
of existence
tore from limb
to limb
serving in peace
inside the heartache

opening crypts
within the mind
speaks in
its own world
is this life
we live
worth living

naked outside
our being
such bitterness
could turn
the beauty
of joy
into sadness

a battlefield within
oneself could turn
love into hate
pain and suffering follows
overturning happiness leaving
the dreaded darkness
of oncoming doom
words spoken meaningless
full of
empty promises

a forever dream
destroying future plans
one foolish game played
judging one completely
without good reason
down trodden
without mercy
fighting in
the light

your shame
is haunting
turning a sanctuary
into a dark prison
emotions greater
than oneself
found the answers
behind unforgiving
truth in reality
i let you go
with love

Left Behind

Oh no I am left behind again.
Sometimes I feel like I am invisible.
Seems like there is some kind of pecking order going on here.
And I say "What about me."
Ok go on. I don't care.
So I go and just waddle off on my own.
Sometimes it is hard to be the last one.
To wonder what is wrong with me.
I'm not that strong.
I wear my heart upon my sleeve.
And people just keep hurting little ol me.
They say I need to toughen up.
But all I want to be is a yellow duck.
They seem to get all the time.
Of the people who come close to the ponds line.
There feathers are colored all so rich.
Mine are tan with touch of dark brown.
And sometimes I feel that even Ma don't want me around.
So I continue on my search.
For my place in line.
Ut-oh! I don't see Ma and the others.
Oh brother I am lost.
As I sit and cry.
Asking myself repeatedly.
Why oh why.
Hey hey stop that!
That is the back of my head.
There is Ma pecking me.
With a beak of lead.
Pushing me back in place.
With a look upon her face.
Oh I am just a young duck.
Who has just run out of luck.
I'm going, I'm going.
Please quit pecking me.
Are you sure you're my family.
I don't look like you.
Look at your other two.
Aw geez I am coming.
Stop.

About this poem:
While feeding the ducks this morning I seen one that seemed to be all alone. Till a big one came and got it and pushed it in the line with the other babes. So this is his story according to me. LOl

missing earth, or whatever

I see, is becoming more than bored
to be around, and there
right here
Used to be a better population
something new every day, every minute
now, just wait, nothing happens
Liberation, say comes with a price
price of unique?

Book

There are times
When I feel an affinity
With an old forgotten book
Dusty and worn
With a sad pitted cover
Where the elements and time
Have taken their toll
The chapters of my life
Make no great reading
Like the book
Neither of us is a classic
But we both have a story
To tell
In pages so steeped
Within sadness and sorrow
As great bitterness and regret
Weep from both our spines
And the glue
Which for so long
Bound us both
To our own existence
Had deteriorated
Beyond all recognition
But more than any other thing
The final two words
Of both our journeys
Remain true and constant
“The End”

Memory Lane (sonnet)

Take a walk today down memories lane
what is it that you remember the most
is it the childhood memories of Spain
maybe the first time you went to the coast

into the waves you ran without a care
dancing and tumbling you played carelessly
drifting out to sea you had a big scare
when saved your mother grasped you tightly

or could it be the day you fell in love
all starry eyed remembering that kiss
like a shooting star falling from above
never had experienced such bliss

memories last a lifetime don't fade
reminiscences can not be mislaid

A SIMPLE MAN

I am a true Old-Fashioned Gentleman
which means I'm just a Simple Man
Without question a dying breed
selfless and manners my creed

Being the good guy can be cumbersome too
"Nice Guys Finish Last" doesn't have to be true
I'm chivalrous to a fault I can honestly say
couldn't imagine being any other way

Bliss for me is being reason behind others joy
my personality is synonymous with 'coy'
Yes I am owner of a heart as big as any
the times it's been broken surpassed many

When it comes to woman I have an insatiable appetite
assuring their satisfaction first always felt right
Tooting my own horn I have never been about
staying A Simple Man in these days deserves a shout

I relish the fact that in good ways I differ from the rest
early on I realized being the opposite of others was best
by doing much more listening than talking I gained prudence
I also ascertained many love to speak but few make sense
