It is natural to feel disappointed
When things don’t go your way
It’s easy to think ....
"I can’t do it, so why try ? "
But no matter how scared you are of making mistakes
Or discouraged you may become
Never give up
Because if you don’t try and
If you don’t go after what you want in life
It won’t come to you
And you’ll be forced to accept
Things that you know could be better
Success is not measured by
Whether you win or you fail
There is always a little bit of success
Even if things don’t go your way
What’s important is that
You’ll feel better about yourself

About this poem:
It seems history repeats itself again
It would be nice if Saskatchewan wins the grey cup
However it is similar to wrestling I think
there is a script that des not exist but profesized
Funny how things happen

I have to break these chains, in this moment I can change, the old must fade away and set fire to ablaze
Through the smokey haze shines eyes that never turn to gaze, from the ashes rises, a flame retardant pilot
As the future approaches history, one doesn’t need to look to see, if one believes in destiny, then that is one will ever be
I orbit this mess while trying to tune my self-awareness but it still doesn’t make any sense so I abandon it
Follow me while I fall, it’s not that far to go, try and catch the meteor, putting on a show
Captured by the snow, a lonesome lonely rainbow, when all the fire has fallen, there’s still no letting go
And so it begins
The story has changed to accommodate the new way we go about reading the day, and in time, it will change again, to better suit the current trend
If the minds decide to wake, you can bet that most will shake, to come to find the truth, which has been hidden in plain view, will surely take its toll upon the already burdened soul
So forget the past with bliss because ignorance will win, it’s not what you’re without but what you hold within

The beginning of an era
A question of freedom
Those who seek to do well and survive
Are now being put to the test and ordered to do wrong
And those who seek to do harm and survive
Are now being slapped on the wrist and sent on their way to continue doing harm.
We`re being told that we can`t do this, we can`t do that
Because of someone else`s mistakes and misfortunes
First, goes the reputable breeders of so many kinds of animals
Next, the breed clubs, and national organizations
What`s next? No freedom to grow a garden, build a home, or have a child?
Will our next generations become lost to the mainstream of public rules and regulations
Acting like robots stuck on autopilot?
Why are our "great leaders" so afraid of individuality?
Individuals keep things alive and interesting.
If individuality is outlawed...
We`d have no media or news
Thousands or millions of people would be out of a job because someone somewhere told them they can`t do what they feel passionate about.
Are these so called leaders afraid to reach out, touch somebody, and support something that grows, learns, and teaches?
Something our people have been doing since the dawn of time.
Our freedom should be just that.
Free.

About this poem:
Written 2-21-02. Back when I raised show rabbits, there were rules about how many rabbits a breeder could have before it was considered "commercial" and needed a license. Same with dogs, because of what some people did badly. IE, poor care of breeding stock, animals dying or no vet care etc. So, the responsible breeders were faulted for it, not the ones making the mistakes. But with this ripple effect on good breeders, eventually so many other things would be affected and our world would come crashing. That law didn`t pass but it`s still hovering over us.

only three lines long
five, seven, five syllables
join disconnected thoughts

About this poem:
I rather like Haiku, actually!
I believe the 'modern' traditional format is three lines, with five, seven, and five syllables per line (though a five line stanza with 5,7,5 followed by 7, 7 is common too?).
What I really like in haiku, that I fail to express in mine, is to see independant thoughts that combine to form an image. That is to say, three things which aren't related through transtions, and accessories like 'and', 'with', or possessives. Blah blah blah, right? lol
Maybe I'll slip by later and try my hand at a more thoughtful haiku. :)

Essential is the air we breath
Like water is to land
The world rotates with love and anger
Now this I try to understand

Verse I
Pow'rs that be play politics,
To them we're only pawns.
Glories past won't help with this,
Those days have come and gone.
Chorus
Our dreams all turned to dust.
To feed their power lust,
They have betrayed our trust.
What's to become of us?
Verse II
Their posturing position,
Self-serving one and all,
Leading us to destruction,
We're headed for a fall.
Verse III
There must be some solution,
To stop this downhill slide.
Without some intervention,
The end is suicide.

Cradled and comfortable for death
I wept, I wept and cried a sleepless pain
And the empty darkness consumed the rain
For which I'm known
I'm born I'm killed I'm dead, I'm dead
I'm you if you were me
I'm every life ended in pain
I'm every life ended in pain
End it in pain
Unaccepted, I don't want to fight you
The emptiness is filled with the absence of light
I'm young I'm old I'm inbetween
And everone is affraid of things they dream
I can't life but I don't want to die
I don't have what it takes to even try
I'm the sadness in your eyes
I'm the sadness in childrens eyes
In childrens lies
Litigation, Don't make me beg
Acting as if nothing was ever said
I'm dead, I'm dead in an open grave
And when the sun came out thay made me their slave
I'm you if you were me
I'm you if you were free

The world around us is dying
they say they can help but are they trying
children with no place to live
rich people who refuse to give
humanity is ugly if we won't help the small
it will affect us all
have we gotten so compleasent that we don't care
that we poison our own air
the planet we walk on everyday
is simply rotting away
garbage lines the street we drive
but hey we will thrive
if we are even still alive
if we all did just our part for our kids
they will do what there parents did
if we would stop just talking about it and actually try
maybe some people won't have to die
donate a dollar or don't throw trash on the ground
or maybe return the wallet you found
let's remember we are all human and live on this earth
and recall our childrens worth

About this poem:
I really feel this way, if everyone out there just tried to be the best person they could be imagine how much better ythe world could be. I know this sounds childish or like something a pagent queen may say, but I think it is so true. So many times we allow ourselves to not be good human beings whether someone else makers us mad or that we just claim we don't have the time or money or whatever, we allow ourselves to not be the best people we can be and I think it's sad. The world is dying but we as a whole kind of say, hey we'll deal with it tomorrow and it's saqd. And the thing I think is the saddest is I do it too and if everyone in the world took five minutes to make a difference could you image...The whole world united in one thing for five minute, one thing that would help us all for five minutes....Anyone like that is reality and I swear I am not psycho enviromentalist ( not that there is anything wrong with that ) But really I know I could try harder at being a better human being...Thanks for the time *lol*

Cold Fusion
By the red glow
Of atmospheric events,
Aurora,
Burning, in a sense.
Eden burning,
Sunlight shining,
Curved,
We are round,
Not square,
Cold energy
Masquerading
As dark matter.
Still, and quiet,
Starlight shining
Cold and vast,
It's soul-blinding,
Small, and
Smaller by the day
Incredible
Shrinking-planet
This I say; cold,
No comfort
Greed and hate,
Cold-fusion hard,
This I do relate.
I cry at night
Aye, I do weep
The rain falls down
And then I sleep.
