Home...

Home is sweet, not bitter,
Home is fun, not a drag,
Home is full of meaning, not a perplex,
Home is perfect, not an angst,
Home is right, not wrong,
Home is easy, not difficult...

Home is an anchor,
Home is where you hear laughter,
Home is warm and fuzzy,
Home is where earl grey tea tastes better,
Home is a delight,
Home is exciting,
Home is where Mom is,
Home is where the children are,
Home is where your friends are and people who smile at you,
Home is where your work is,
Home is where you can take your mask off and be yourself,
Home is where you are,
Home is... home...

Worlds within...

When I was young and naive, I believed the world was out there,
I looked at the vast continent on which I was born, my beloved Africa,
And I drooled,
What beasts were hidden just beyond yonder?
Who lived just across that river?
What was that jungle like way over there, where the horizon met the sky?
What islands lay just beyond further than I could see, yes, yes, just over there, just out of reach surrounded by the magnificent and never-ending Indian Ocean?
And my young heart pounded with excitement at the prospect of crossing one more river, journeying into one more jungle, setting foot on one more island...

Now, after some fifty plus years of exploring terra firma, my thirst has not been assuaged one iota,
My wonder-lust is as expansive as ever,
I still want to visit more islands, cross more rivers, sail more seas, meet more new faces,
However, I have travelled far and wide,
And have seen a lot more than my teenage eyes had,
And, now, now I wonder what’s within,
I find myself besotted with another kind of wonder-lust,
This time though,
Its directed inward,
To those equally vast and endless worlds within,
The ones the ‘banksters’ have sought to keep from us, so their enslavement of us can continue unabated,
Now, even ‘respected’ professors are talking about ‘population-reduction’,
There’re far too many of us on the planet they say,
They only need 500,000,000 of us, one can only wonder if their relentless attempts to vaccinate us, to send us to war, to poison our food and water, to ‘chemtrail’ our skies,
Are mere veiled weapons of mass-destruction, a term one hears bandied about more and more,
‘eugenics’ they call it,
I call it mass, homicidal, murder perpetrated by cowardly technocrats, revelling in the slaughter of innocents, including angelic, little children...

Although I’ve spent a couple of decades exploring the worlds within,
I know I have not yet scratched the surface,
But, I journey on,
Experiencing a delicious breakthrough every now and then,
But, I still feel like some Lilliputian,
Travelling down some forlorn stream in a matchbox-boat,
Fancying himself to be on the high seas exploring...

Border Wars (A Kickit Challenge)

A thousand steps walking a crooked fence
Meanders across a craggy rock strewn field
This boundary only makes little sense
A clumsy border to keep one's eyes peeled

Tufts of grass ring the badly cratered ground
Jagged shards of twisted steel lie in rust
Only a monstrous waste of life be found
Threads in between the warring tribes of trust

If only glory could walk a fabled past
Across a barbed and razor sharpenned wire
Would anyone give hope for peace to last
A much better reason for a cease fire

When borders cease to create a barrier
Indeed the whole world becomes merrier

About this poem:
Inspired by Kickit's openning line...which happenned to be fortuitous
pentameter for my fav sonnet style....my poem envisions a disputed border fence as a symbol of mistrust....

Paul Ryan

He's so handsome
He's so fit
He's as good looking as Sarah Palin
but he doesn't wear designer glasses
He comes from Wisconsin
Janesville to be exact
He has a wife and three children
He's a good speaker
But...
He wants to cut the budget
Take away social security
So they say
His running mate is Mitt Romney
He looks like an evil man riding a horse
He has shipped jobs away
He has money in Swiss Bank accounts
Like Sarah
Part of me wants to like him
But he is a Republican
Like Reagan and the Bushes
Not like Lincoln at all
I can't vote for him
I couldn't vote for Walker either
But you gotta admit
He's a good speaker

About this poem:
This whole election has me troubled. Last time I was all happy to vote for Barack Hussain Obama. Now it's like in 1992, but no Ross Perot to be found.

The Reason.........

Everyone ......has a reason
To express ...what they say
Some just to heal....Others
For recognition.. their way

Whatever ......their choice
Whatever ..........they say
Open.............. mindness
Is.......... always the way

For writing .....an reading
Is ...........to be blessed
More luckier .....than some
Whose life... may be messed

Everything .that is written
Will always... be critiqued
As .....the balance of life
Is just.......... so unique

Teaching my boy to rise above
Things .......that maybe said
Bad comments ....not regarded
Will never mess with your head

As adults i would have thought
That ...some tact would be had
And respect ...to All who read
Whose company... we share glad

In a..... very public platform
As regarded........... as this
People........... come to read
The poetry........ ......Bliss

Black and White

From my first waking moment
To the moment I drift off to sleep
It eats at my insides
Like a gnawing rat in deep

Throughout the night I toss and turn
Beneath my cardboard shelter
The cold it seeps into my bones
To battle with my hunger

The colours of the world reduced
To this blackness called hunger
What would I give for one good meal
My soul I'd sell to the devil

My world reduced to black and white
No reds, greens or purples
No pretty colours do I see
Just blackness that is my hunger

restless sleep

everyone is born with a beautiful heart
right from the very very start
its the corridors of life
that get you into strife

so be there way

some dark lonely places
reflecting saddened faces
like voids an empty spaces
bad manners an no graces

everyone has a say

or the brightness of light
everything is alright
love is your respite
living a delight

a joy for today

what should be right
is but wrong
is that what changed
where you belong

i can not say

darkness meanders around us all
waiting silently for us to fall
will you walk or will you crawl
grit your teeth or just bawl

no time to play

hope is so far far away
i'm only a child here today
i understand not the words you say
influence is but survival anyway

please can i stay

i ponder on the lives of then
how it affected women an men
whats different between now an when
when solace was seeking a friend

i hope an pray

reasons of life run very deep
secrets for themselves to keep
embracing life or maybe weep
the joy of love or restless sleep

WAKE UP!!!!!

Wake up!!!
To this cruel society
Look whats going on to,
the forces you cant see

Signs are all there
We recognize & know them

But its hard, to face the fear
When your mind is not consciously
There.

You cant escape the dream
When everything has a meaning

We are in an illusive state,
When we take, in the bate

Everytime we turn on the tv
What you dont believe, the deception
We breath?

Take a look at the entertainers in the industry.
How they dazzle & distort, what we see.

Flaunt there power, money & greed.
They compensate, fakeness in there spiritual identity.

They put up signs & symbols, in sinister gestures
with there hands.

Each picture they take, has a hidden message in
There stance.

Its scary to concieve, you still dont believe?
Watch the rituals that take place,
During half time, superbowl sunday.

As long as theres media coverage,
We consume this everyday.

Just be aware & most of all
WAKE UP!!!!!.....today

I'm Not Giving You a Broom!

I waited for you
To make the first move
You were in charge
And did what you do

Looking in my glass house
You saw what you see
I was vulnerable
So you took advantage of me

In the first petition we faux wed
And you created my future course
But, I’ve finally had enough of your scam
Now it’s time for us to faux divorce

You were the one with the masterful plan
And what I really needed didn’t matter
All you wanted was to make your play
So you’d get whatever you were after

Simultaneously,
You put me in the driver’s seat
And handed over the keys
While you got in on the passenger's side
And feigned giving the control to me

Being unlicensed and trusting you
I then took hold of the wheel
Not knowing you were just using me
To get my signature on your lucrative deal

The one where I became an indentured servant
So others could decide my fate
But, eventually I exposed your treachery
And since then I’ve gotten nothing but hate

After once upon a time
Smiling sweetly in my face
So handsome, and oh so grand
YOU, the TOP GUN
The BIG MAN with a plan
Didn’t want to hang your head in disgrace

Lately
You’ve been getting a wee bit upset
And still doing whatever it is you still do
While I’ve made plans to quicken your step
By encouraging you to make your next move

Because you need votes and connections
From one to the other end of the State
Who will enjoy sitting down at your table
Eating your food from off of your plate
And
Together you’ll make merry and laugh
At the joke you made, oh yeah, that’s “me”
Determined to hang on until the end
And to never allow me to go free

As you bask in your hay days
And all the money you made
You’re happy with the respect you achieved
At my expense and others like me too
While we paid your debts
And still want answers from you

But, you underestimate us
And my willingness to strive
When you left me with nothing to lose
After you lied
And cheapened my pride

And now you’re getting angrier
The more doggedly I share
Me, the little mouse
Fat cats no longer scare

BUT,

DO YOU REALLY THINK THAT I CARE?

Why don’t you put your… oops,
OUR money
Where your mouth is
Let’s finally meet together in the courtroom
I’m sure your posse will be there
And the new Judge can decide
Preponderance
Evidentiary documents
And sworn testimony too

Then I’ll show my hand
Politely address you as “Sir”
And mop the floor up with you!!!

Oh, that’s right, I almost forgot
You prefer that we mediate without proof
In a private room where no one can see
So all your bad faith acts will stay buried in history

But I’m not giving you the broom that you need
So you can sweep me
And what you’ve done to everyone
Quietly
Under the rug

Especially since your new plan
Is to avoid a public scandal
In your campaign to be elected his Honor

The reigning JUDGE!!!
