Adapt or Starve

Give me the power to undermine the qualities that restrict the growth of self. Walk away, its over...here stands a new machine.

Endings are the only beginnings from now.
Time waits for no one but i will live forever.
Enter the void...

Everythings real, congruently relevant,
speak up and satisfy our minds.
Project the past, ingest the future,
convert your feelings until the sensation is right.

Everyone tells me i blew it but what they dont know is i knew it.
Two steps ahead of no one i am the king of the world unkown,
to you its a reality full of hostility.

Ive tasted it before and ill swallow it again.
You pushed me too far toward the end.
If theres no end then why do you fear it?

Its evident that your analysis is critical,
of the hypothesis, it never was ethical.
Sample the nerves of the system that keeps them at bay.
In the end youll conclude there will always be a way.

Keep your input open and your output shut.

About this poem:
This is about all the events in life that happen that are out of our control. If things didnt go your way then you have to take action to either adapt to the situation or take steps to rid yourself of the burden.

My original intention when i wrote this was to come off as aggressive and fed up, but ive learnt not to push too many powerful feelings across to the reader and let them substitute their own.

Write For Peace (Soulgoddess challenge-Acrostic)

Worldwide love of nature shared by all
Responsible leaders whose egos fall
Into cities let the green earth sprawl
Take the hand of all those who crawl
Energy made by every roof and wall

Foster belief in fairness for us all
Outlaw nuclear weapons in a brawl
Respect those who answer our call

Prayers when natural disasters befall
Equality for all nations in every trawl
A place for every culture at the mall
Creating goodwill by standing tall
Every voice is heard at town hall

About this poem:
Acrostic poetry style to hopefully list a few universal ideals for "Peace" which I believe really starts with 'respect' and 'equality' for everyone else in the world.

The Raffish Ruffians

Life's a party held for your good measure
For spoiled rotten brats who lives with ease
Still hoping to steal more family treasure
Picking fruits from a basket as you please

What causes all you lost souls to suffer
Existing in a world so filled with strife
Can you think of any streets much tougher
With people who don't value their own life

Once happy playgrounds now filled with anger
Ruled by bully gangs looking for some fights
Like watching neon signs flash with danger
With sirens and strobing red and blue lights

Stumbling home drunk after dark so raffish
Can be so proud of the life you lavish

It's Time to Fight For My Life!

The day after tomorrow
I’m going to discuss my rights,
With everything I am inside
It’s time to fight for my life.
This battle began 27 yrs. ago
And I’ve built a solid case,
But this doesn’t really assure a win
Given all the time and space.
Me and this insurance company
Have never seen eye to eye,
While they have means to bury me
All I can afford to do is try.
I’ll try to open up their minds
So I can take care of myself,
Hopefully they’ll see it my way
And finally allow me to get some help.
My story is not so very unusual
Except I’ve stood my ground forever,
Now I want a change of pace
And can only hope they don’t say, NEVER!
To those of you who believe in God
I sure could use your prayer,
For He might be the only One
Who can convince them to be fair.
I thank you all for your acts of kindness
Allowing my self expression on your site,
There are no words to adequately explain
How creativity helps me to feel alright.
The day after tomorrow
Can provoke a stress I wish didn’t exist,
But I have to face it all head on
If I ever want to get this finished.
Please cross your fingers too
For its prayers and luck I need,
And I will bring you all the good news
When this ends well, and I succeed.

My Travels

Across this world so far and wide
So many different places that I’ve been
And different faces of this world I’ve seen

I’ve travelled across a desert of mirrors
Where broken hearts lay shattered in pieces
Reflecting back their sorrow and pain

Up snow covered mountains where summer is missing
To mountain lakes where mermaids lay sleeping
Dreaming their perfect dreams of heavenly visions

I’ve seen clowns dancing on graves of heroes
To where dead bodies litter the playground
And soldiers die while walking in peace

I’ve walked through the streets of mighty cities
Where the rich grow fatter and the poor lay dying
To where sleep in bed is but a distant memory

Holy men pray and propound their peace theories
In the meantime the dogs of war let off their leashes
All for the sake of the almighty dollar

All these many place I’ve been and seen
But there is one place I have never found
Is where love reigns supreme

Don't ask don't tell

Winds come rushing in clouds go rolling by
A storm is in the making they know but will deny
Don't ask don't tell is their philosophy
So full of hate and greed
They won't stop until you bleed
Wicked seed despising the eyes that see through it all
They wanna see you fall

Don't ask don't tell philosophy
Their lips are sealed but I can see
The things they hide from you and me
Inside a world where nothing's free
What you get isn't always what you see
Don't ask don't tell philosophy

I wonder if I said to much a threatening liability
They will come for me like Leonardo davinci
they will paint a picture for all to see
They will say its me
Burning my image with smiles on their face
Hiding their eyes from what they despise
Don't ask don't tell no compromise

What Quietly Hides Inside

It’s not just the colour that I object
Though that in itself is bad enough
So different they look with dark skin
It’s dirty beasts they remind me of

I looked at him, I was perplexed
Was he being serious, on the level
Or was this some major hoax
I looked around for cameras

They come in our country, take our jobs
The government gives them everything
Cars they drive and houses they live in
So tell me, why do they get it so easy?

Easy, I thought, you must be joking
Arrive on these shores, left all behind
Their country full of death and violence
And you say they’re blessed with luck

Should send them back to where they belong
Or drop them from high flying plane
If that don’t work could always shoot them
Soon get the message, not welcome here

I slid aside to take a closer look
A monster is what I expected to see
But he looked normal like you and me
And that is what scared me the most

About this poem:
I was quietly enjoying lunch the other day when I overheard a conversation ... from all these drastic actions he was advocating I expected to see a monster ... all I saw was by appearance a mild mannered man, normal by all appearances ... one never knows what dark monsters lurk deep within waiting for the right time to surface

Full Circle

In The beginning of humanity there was a humble caveman
Who lived in a cave with his female companion. As they
Looked for food and created various weapons, their
Society grew and they became more advanced in their
Ways of life. They made primitive spears and used wooden
Clubs to kill their prey. As time went on they discovered a
Way to make fire. As thousands of years went by, men
Had evolved, living in huts and using coracles to fish in
Rivers. They created metal armour and weapons, so that they
Could fight wars and secure land and wealth by fighting and
Winning battles, but costs were very high, as people
Would die to protect what was theirs. Time progressed,
And men became more civilised after discovering the wheel,
But now wars became bigger and the loss of life was
Higher, but men's conquest excelled, primitive men
Became intelligent and they built roads and buildings to live in.
They were a modern society, which created governments
With wealth, by taxing their people and forming a controlled
Society with laws that had to be obeyed and groups of men
Who became Police and enforced rules that would cost the
Society money if they broke them, and inprisonment
If they were found guilty, - those laws were to be obeyed or
Refusal would cost people dearly. As Governments evolved
They concentrated on a military force to protect the people
From harm. There were soldiers who would travel on
Land and sea and later air. Bombs and super weapons were
Created to blow up cities and possibly the world as we know it.
As the biggest invention since the discovery of the wheel was
The Atom Bomb. It destroyed many lives and left the fallout of
Heavy nuclear radiation around for years to come.
In the 1950's it threatened to end all life on Earth, and the
Threat has been real ever since. Inventions are designed to
Improve the quality of life in our society, but with all these
Weapons of war have we really learnt at all, or reverted
To our savagery coming full circle back to our past,
Were we used to exist like the primitives in the realm
Of a prehistoric society fighting with rocks, clubs and spears.

A Conversation

"Please Sir, Can you spare a dollar?
I've not eaten in a while.
The nights are cold, mid winter now
and shelter I have none."

[Why does he look at me like that? Does
he not understand how hard it is for
me to beg like this. There was a time
where I would never have needed to beg
like this. Can't he see this is tearing
me apart.]

"Yes Sir, work I've tried to find
but it is so very hard.
They find out no address have I,
get told to move right on."

[Why is it the first thing people say
is 'get a job'. If they had any idea
how long and hard I've been looking
they would be shocked. They have no
idea of the prejudices out there. If
you have no home or only list a
shelter they take one look and tell
you ever so politely 'you are not
what we are looking for.' ]

"No Sir, I have no family.
My wife died three years past,
took with her our only child.
Twas a driver who was drunk."

[ I had a family. A wife I loved
dearly and a beautiful son. A drunk
driver plowed into them at a
pedestrian crossing. Killed them
both and that damned lawyer of his
got him off. Not responsible for
his actions due to poor upbringing.
I admit I hit rock bottom and
tried to drink myself into oblivion.
Haven't drunk for more than a year
but once down they don't like to
make it easy to come back up. ]

"Bless you Sir, may the angels smile,
may your life be filled with joy.
There is enough here to eat for a week
and contented I will sleep tonight."

[ I can see by the look in your eyes
that you are wondering if you are
being conned. It does not matter why
you are being generous it just means
I live for another week and who knows
tomorrow might bring hope. ]

I'm in Here

Look really hard....
See? Here I am
The packaging is a bit worn perhaps
But look inside
Beyond the wrapping
See?
No....wait!!
That one's unfinished, unversed...
I know it's agleam now, but that will fade
And the packaging will fray

Look really hard.....
I'm in here
