July Third

I think of all the wrong that is done in the name of freedom
90 million dead Indians
Three million dead Vietnamese
600,000 dead soldiers in the Civil War
57,000 dead Vietnam War soldiers
Over a million dead Iraq citizens
Countless millions dead during World War I and II
Stealing oil
Stealing land
PTSD
Homeless veterans
Unpunished criminal military atrocities like rape and murder
Friendly fire
Nameless victims
Decorated soldiers
Unfair justice
Countless tombstones all in white

About this poem:
Just got done watching a documentary about rape in the military. 20,000 women and 20,000 men are raped while serving in the armed forces while the perpetrators go unpunished. Now we are going back into Iraq, it's all pretty sad.

ISIS

ISIS
Islamic State of Iraq and Syria
Cutting off heads
Killing men
Raping women
What is Islamic about that?
Why do people use religion as an excuse to be cruel to others?
Why are they here?
I think that it is a result of our cruelty to the Iraqis
Stealing their oil
Taking their incomes from 7000 to 700
Leaving many dead or dead broke
1 trillion dollars stolen for what?
So a peace we supposedly paid for could be stolen in days?
We seem to be in the business of creating terrorists
Terrorism is what we do to other countries and to our own people
Is ISIS bad?
Yes!
But so are we

About this poem:
I have been celebrating Halloween since September 15. I used to celebrate Halloween with ghosts, goblins, and werewolves. Now it seems I celebrate it with ISIS, politicans, and the police state.

WHY

Why is this life so very unkind
it's meaning impossible to find
Why do we choose to help evil thrive
care less and less if good stays alive

Why are humans inexplicably cruel
deception their most preferred tool
Why can't people be real instead of pretend
how does THE ridiculous become a trend

Why are the less fortunate cast out
human decency got lost no doubt
Why can't a broken heart easily mend
why must every beginning have an END

How To Treat Women

Don't yell at them
Don't hit them
Tell them you love them
Show them you love them
Don't control them
Don't get jealous
Don't look at them as sex objects
Listen to them
Talk to them
Tell them you appreciate them

About this poem:
Watched a documentary Domestic Violence. One of the more memorable quotes came from a little girl who said, "If my dad dies, I wouldn't cry." The theme seemed to be that there are a lot of guys out there that don't love themselves, because if they did there wouldn't be all this horrible crap done to women.

HOOK, LINE & SINKER

Hook, line and sinker,
A strange song to a thinker.
Believing without a reason,
Is man’s worst treason.

Hook line and sinker,
A strange song to a thinker.
Don’t go if you don’t know,
It’s no folly to say no.

Hook line and sinker,
A strange song to a thinker.
Knowledge is made for man,
Know all if you can.

Hook, line and sinker,
What an awkward rhythm!

Intersteler home

I was born on the moon
orbiting Pluto
I never left home until
the sun came around
I caught a ride on a solar flare
to see the universe
But I found
there's not much out there

I spent some time
on the moons of Jupiter
I met some really
nice bateria
Living in peace in the craters
Raising their young
But still I hitched a ride
on the tail of a comet

I found a nice planet
full of water and people
I thought I'd make a home for myself
but there was to much screaming
I realized there was no place
quite like home
So I climb back to the sky
and floated through space all alone

On the Side of the Road (redux)

Verse I

I hitch to get to where I need.
I have no car you see.
Times are rough,
But I am tough,
Sometimes you gotta be.
I get good rides most of the time,
At others it's no go.
It's all good
Get what I should.
On the side of the road.

Chorus

On the side of the road,
On the side of the road,
You never know,
How it wiill go,
On the side of the road.

Verse II

There's money lost and money found,
A crapshoot at the best.
Take the things,
Good fortune brings,
And disregard the rest.
I've found the thing to do is just,
Sit back and watch the flow.
What goes by,
Upon the tide,
On the side of the road.

Verse III

Sometimes there are people too,
Out wanderin' around.
Just like me,
They're try'n' to see,
What's out there to be found.
Some are nice and some are mean,
You never really know.
Some are out,
Just roam'n' about,
On the side of the road.

To Rasputina

She calls her band Rasputina,
Melora Kreiger's the one.
Dressed in Victorian underwear,
Her shows are a lot of fun.

Electric rock cello she plays,
Pushing through Marshalls and loud.
Her lyrics are edgy and cool,
Knows how to work up a crowd.

Plays in New York now and then,
Touring costs too much these days.
Caught her show in St Louis once,
Man, does she rock when she plays!

So check her out if you've time,
Listen online if you would.
Her music is best listened loud,
Telling you, it's really good.

About this poem:
The name caught my eye on a Ticketmaster calendar, so I had to check it out. Played in a smaller venue in St. Louis and I went. Got the t-shirt and her autograph. Huge fan!

The world's last system.

Totalitarian goverments are crumbling. Freedom is on the horizon. Self determination is prevailing. As democracy is soldiering on. Today we swear by this system; the right to choose our path. Many believe it the true realm, democracy is indeed "our hearts"! But imagine six billion people, all making their "own demands". Regularly goverments will topple: the citizens in full command. Daily people marching the streets, taking up their own cause. Leader will have to retreat, there will be constant civil wars. With food in short supply, we already have a crisis. "Free people" won't care why, but will demand: fix it! Potiential leaders would be scared. It will be pure anarchy". Freedom will be really "dread," there will be "food" rivalry. Hopefully as the christian belief, a next system is coming. It will bring true relief. Now that, will take some explaining!

Take This Moment

Everyday , Seams so impossible
To Get up And Face the truth
They're Trying to Steal my home

I stand here still for what I hear
Can't hold back my Tears
It's my home , they're tryin' to steal

No more Fights , no more Crimes
But Mama , Please Forgive me ..
If I left you to Die in my own Town ..

Take A moment And think , What if it's your own home
What if they killed the child you give born to
They're Tryin' to break your soul
Take A Moment And Stand to respect the memories
Stand for your own Country
Be careful of the True Enemy
Take A moment , And Cry on what you've lost
But Get up again , to Fight for more
It's your Home who's Waiting for you
It's your Call
Take This moment And on
Today is The Future for your home
Don't Let it down And Stand so strong on it's ground
It's time for you to make it Proud
