OCTOBER

A chainsaw drones, in the twilight as the sun sinks into warm red blankets of sky and memories fly-
To childhood bedtime hours, when you used your wiles and powers,
to stay out just another little while
To watch that noisy machine eat its way through sweet scented pine and oak, soft downy sawdust pile,
white and clean, making a snowlike scene in the muddy October evening dark and cold,
banished off to bed for being bold.
Sneak a peek through the heavy curtain just once more to see,
The strong hands regulate that toothy saw and the sawdust dance wild and free, circles now of timber, no longer a tree and droopy eyelids steal the scene from me.

No more Pain... Dad!

In the attempt to give it one more try,
I knew would be the first and last to cry.
All I wanted was that father daughter bond,
I was happy when you made the effort to respond.
Not knowing how long it would last,
But didn’t think it would be this fast.
I’ve helped you through hard times,
Every time it’s me who has to climbs.
I have to climb to rebuild my life,
I’m Fed up with this strife.
So maybe now it’s time to walk away,
At least then my feelings can’t decay.
Dad, I hope you know what you’ve done,
You can’t keep making me feel this way.
This time being the last you do,
Why should I keep taking put downs from you?
Now I’m gonna start standing tall,
No longer am I going to fall.
I’ve tried time and time again,
Now I’ll save myself from more of this pain.
No more am I coming back,
Just to have added to my life another crack.
Don’t you think I’ve been through enough?
I can’t handle that kinda stuff.
I came to you for advice,
Was it meant to suffice?
So now I say good bye for good,
I just wish you understood.

Walking away from another.

You are just the same as dad,
The things you done are bad!
Them things there was no need for,
But you should have thought of that before.
You are another one who is meant to be,
There to help and support me.
But where was in you in times of need?
No matter how much I would plead.
When something came out where did you go?
Why should I have to put on a show?
Beside me is where you should have been,
Since then an empty space is all I’ve seen.
So dear mother, I will stand no more,
I hope one day you fall to the floor.
I hope you get the help that I received,
After all it was me you never believed.
And for them few other things,
Hope you can handle what life slings.
I’ve taken all I can handle from you,
Those things I’m tired of going through.
So yet another bad termed good bye,
I can’t believe you wanted me to try!

Weekends

Luke, you are a bright boy,
Luke you're such a good kid,
You'll have to figure all this out for yourself,

But I'm not the antichrist,
Christ I'm not the antichrist,
You see she only sees her own side.

Meet me soon for pancakes,
Meet me on Sunday for sandwiches,
At the funfair - on your favorite rides,

Act Strong, Fight Hard, Be Well,
Dig deep and give them hell,
Fridays are for matinees and Sundays for goodbyes,

Some kids have plans to run away,
Some kids have plans to rule the world.

I Missed You!

Blonde hair, blue Eyes, dimples
Pretty Smile
so infectious,
She laughs,
tears of joy in her eyes.
Her girl like features lighting
up with love,
she hugs me and simply says...
Hi Mum, I missed you!

Never Ask Your Mom

What should you do on a snowy day?
Don't ask your mom, is the first thing I will say.
It all happened on the 13th of December.
A very cold day, I'll always remember.

You see the snow was coming down fast.
I thought to myself - How long will this last?
For hours I paced around my room.
Each minute lasting longer, I filled with gloom.

At my lowest moment, feeling quite blue,
I gave up and ask my mom what to do.
She said, "I'm glad you asked and let me tell you why!"
Oh, she had this awful twinkle in her eye.

"Oh son, you've make me the happiest mom alive!
Now go out there and shovel the drive."
I put on a coat and zipped it up tight.
I gave into her request without a fight.

I started out plowing; it's really a cinch.
Then I look around and only uncovered an inch.
Those snowflakes kept falling, one by one.
This is horrible, when will I be done?

My hands were frozen and my feet were numb.
Asking my mom what to do, sure was dumb.
I worked and worked and shoveled away.
I finally was finished, too cold to hooray.

I came in the house and fell to the floor.
My mom saw that I had finished my chore.
My teeth started to chatter, my body started to shake.
My mom took one look at me and said, "You need a break!"

"You shoveled the drive just like a pro.
How about some cookies and hot cocoa?"

I ate and drank and feeling a little better.
I changed my clothes and put on a sweater.
I've learned from this - here's a clue.
Never, never ask your mom What can I do?

RAIN

I LIKE THE RAIN, IT HIDES MY PAIN.
COVER MY TEARS; BLOCK YOU FROM SEEING MY FEARS.
AS I WALK AROUND DODGING MY PEERS.
HOPE MY GLASSY EYES BLEND IN.

MY MIND IS LIKE A RECORDING.
VISITING MY PAST.
REFERING TO MY PRESENT.
FROM WHO I RESENTED, TO WHOM IM PERSUEING.
FROM PRIOR MISTAKES, TO OPTION I HAVE TO MAKE.

LIFE OF PAST SORROW, TO ADVENTURE FILLED TOMORROW.
ACCEPTING OF MY FAULTS, TO A FUTURE OF MY CHOICE.

AS FOR THE RAIN, THAT SHIELDS MY TEARS & HIDE MY FEARS.
I HOPE FOR THE SUN TO BRING ME PLENTY DAYS OF FUN.

A feel good poem

I like to make up poems on the spot, i never know what im writing from one line to the next, i tend to think this is the best and most expressive way to write. Seriously though, if you fancy a poem on any subject/topic/or silliness, send me an email here and I will post one just for you.. Enjoy :-)

Its funny sometimes,
how the little things matter,
how we listen to gossip,
and mindless chatter

Its funny sometimes,
how we stress for no reason,
we feel down on a sunday,
or we change with each season

Its funny sometimes,
how we can feel so alone,
wanting someone to visit,
wanting someone to phone

Its funny sometimes,
how we just need a hug,
to scootch up on the sofa,
and cuddle and snug

Its funny sometimes,
when things get us down,
always looking at the floor,
always showing a frown,

Its funny sometimes,
if we just lift our heads,
look at the world,
and smile instead

Embrace every meeting,
enjoy every talk,
sharing those special moments,
laughing together on a nice long walk.

Open our eyes,
and take in every sight,
theres no time for sadness,
its time to fight!

Its funny sometimes,
that everything is fine,
and the people who love you,
have been right here the whole time.

MOM

You were always there
for me when hard times
came our way

From the first time
our eye's met you have
had my back and cared
for me no matter what

Even when I made mistakes
it was you who showed me
the wrong I had done and it
was you who help me better
myself

There is no price or bounty
of riches that would allow
me to repay you for all
that you have done

through the years we have
weathered many storms and
together we have faced them
all head first

you have planted my roots to
keep me grounded while at
the same time left them loose
enough for me to fly

So thank you MOM for shaping
me into the man I am today
and remember that it was your
love that kept me strong

I LOVE YOU

To Amber

Amber you are such a joy to me,
have been since i first saw you.

Your cute little face, your pretty
eyes, and smile, just make me
happy all the while I think of you.

Altho you are grown now, i hope that
you see, what a wonderful grandaughter
you are to me.

Stay as sweet as you are honey
I love you
