It's Only GoodBye

Everytime I see this look
When you look all over my face
Like you're kissing me
Without Touching
And your eyes are moving so fast
wanna capture every detail of this place
Every moment counts now
Seams like everything is ending
Or fallin' down
Like those tears , I see
Wanna feel me before
You go out of this door
Only one word can describe
This Look in your Eyes

It's Only Goodbye

Untitled

You leave
With a heart unbroken
You are the great devestator
In the greatest fable ever told.

To speak so effortlessly
Words
Syllables
That can crush in an instant

Half finished
Half written
No, ill lay half empty
Until i am dead.

a coat of paint?

lives bundled in boxes/
melodies of memories chime/

Dear Poet,

Where do I begin?
Now, moving in,
cartons on the floor,
the radio playing to bare walls,
picture hooks left abandoned
in the unsoiled squares where Monet's
hung proudly not so long ago.

Something reminding us
this is like all the other moving days;
finding the dirty ends of someone else's life,
a half eaten apple, melted candle wax,
lipstick stained "I love you" faded
on the bathroom mirror
things not preserved, yet never swept away
like fragments of disturbing dreams
we stumble on all day...

in ordering our lives, we discard them,
scrub clean the floorboards of this our home
lest refuse from the lives we did not lead
become in some strange frightening ways, our own.

We plan not to tolerate our fears- a year laid out
like rooms in a new house- our dusty wine glasses
rinsed off, vases no longer filled,
the bookshelves sagging with heavy
self-help books.

Seeing the room always as it will be,
we are content to dust and wait.
We will return here from the dark and silent
streets, arms full of poems and metaphors
eager to greet the spring and looking
for the good life we have made.

Yes, poet, now we plan, postponing,
pushing our lives forward into the future-
as if, when the room contains
us and all our treasured junk
we will have filled whatever gap it is
that makes us wander, discontented
from ourselves.

The room will not change:
a rug, queen Ann chair, or new coat of paint
won't make a difference:
our eyes are fickle
but we remain the same beneath
our freckles & suntans,
pale, frightened,
dreaming ourselves backward and
forward in time,
dreaming our dreaming selves.

I look forward, poet,
and I see myself look back.

I must close,
be well sweet poet,
be well and safe in your existence.

Poetry Corner Challenge.

Hi all,

Poetry traffic has been very slow on "The Corner" for a while, so I'm laying down a challenge for all poets to write something, anything, even if it doesn't rhyme.
(The treacherous subject
is "Love".)
So get those pens out and share your thoughts.
All poets welcome !!

Good Luck....
Mick.

FOR ALL WAR VETS, TO WHOM MY FREEDOM IS OWED

Please go and rest
my friend, my hero
dream of a land and lea
mountains, and rivers,
ocean, lakes, placid and serene
as once your youth was
before the momentum
of brainwashing and believing
in your innocence
how I will live free
under the serene and calm
swaying of the trees,
leaves fluttering in the winds ..
a music to my freedom.

Go and rest your weary soul...
remember I am with you all the way
to this cause...
I can't do it all
by myself
and while tears are yet pouring
for a cause I never knew
nor understood
until now,
with the torments of
your heart and soul
left among the pains
among the sorrows
far deeper
than love can cause
in the jungle, was I to know?
was I to be told?
that my freedom
was the very depth of your
sufferings?
so that my children
and their children's children
and billions more to come
can really be free?
Rest, oh thy heart that
has been torn
body that was broken
will that was bent
and a soul that is restless.

Rest and I will pray for you
as all of those who gave
their innocence and youth
their strength and hopes
and yet neglected, misguided
misunderstood, left for no good
the least I can do
for right now.

Rest..I am with you.

God bless.

About this poem:
I am still crying for my friend RHR and all those who are now misguided and misunderstood, helpless living in a world that can't be fathomed. Deep down is a curse only God can heal.

For the veterans who are now living in oblivion. Not because of lack of support from the government but the drugs they used to numb them against the terrors and brutalities of war render them conditioned with an affliction only miracle can cure.

Near but so far

I dream of you to kiss those lips wanting you
I dream of you each day
Shy to talk shy to approach

I dream of what to say
Your hair dazzles me takes
my breath I can hardly breath
I drown in breath

To be near you to hold you close
To taste those lips
Your my princess held pedistals high

I want to be near you to hold you
Talk to you to kiss you
my wanting feelings for you
But I hide from you from a far

From other ends of this earth
I dream of you
hoping I can be with you my love how I miss who you are

Buzz Kill # 3

Forlorn and downtrodden even cold and solemn
Such is my fate this cold February evening..,no
morning... for it is 1am and my mind is numb .
Thoughts are dull and senses seem to be of
another man far removed. Am I just going thru
the motions. Others have slowly erased
all my emotions. What happened to that young
and fearless man with great dreams and promise.
Time and responsibilities and parasites sucking
at my flesh 'til nothing left but scar tissue, broken
dreams and shattered aspirations. It's so difficult
to save the world when one can not even save
themselves. If poet be the creation of regret, then
poet you are born of noble blood. Thoughts of
crawling up to the edge of a void my sullen lofty goal.
What became of those idealistic dreams and do
I have time and or energy to even foray into
the cruel world to quest after them again. Time
my friend...in but an instant as decades are gone
as if in decay and can not however willfully
coerced ..,can not be regained. Led down a wrong
path, led in a wrong direction, led down a one-way
street now hoping to find the end and reroute myself.
Finding there is no end as it becomes a one-way
circle and I notice past habits and scenes repeat.
Oh how could I have lost my way for so long
and can I find the fast lane back. The age old question
asked, but still without logic answer. Why God, why me?
Was I not a good person...or is this indeed the rhetorical
answer. It's difficult for good people of integrety to
survive in this world of deception, manipulation and greed.
Oh God I only pray I can find the road back and soon.

your touch

sitting in the darkness
with curtains closed
waiting for you to come home
waiting for your touch
so soft and sweet
you turn me on
with your fingers on my neck
i light up when i see your face
following you around
like a puppy dog
wrapping myself around you
laying down i'll keep you warm
reading a book i'll stand behind you
closing your eyes falling asleep
love your hands on my neck
your turning me off
sleeping you must
i'll stand here watching you
wait for you to wake
i'll give you my light
when your eyes awake
because i am

your lamp

Love Abounds Uniting Hearts

Love abounds in the still air
Setting poets hearts on fire
Two souls filled with melody
Eros shot his arrow true

Piercing the organ of love
A sensual yearning starts
Within her heart an ember
Until touch sets it alight

These two poets united
They sing in sweet harmony
As their words of love pour forth
blending together in rhyme

Together they face the World
Rising to each new challenge
Within shared words they are bound
Two hearts now forever changed
