RE: Paranormal Activity....Do You Believe

I've had a loud, crashing sound in my late husband's room a few months after he died while I was talking to a palm-reading friend of mine about his ED...we ran in there and nothing had fallen or was out of place, but the hairs on our arms stood straight up from the energy crackling in there.

The day my Papa passed away, my dad and I were on our way up the back stairs in our house when the door behind us opened and closed, and then the door between the room we were heading up to and the one next to it opened and closed. We felt a very cold draft pass us on the steps.

I've had many other experiences, but those two are major ones where I wasn't alone and it was someone close to me. I believe. wine

RE: Let's reveal our bad traits!

I don't know if you could, Pat, but I have been able to do so. I can't do it with cigarettes though...at least, not yet. If I give it some time, I might be able to do that with them as well, though I probably will choose not to for the same reasons I quit. wine smoking

RE: Paranormal Activity....Do You Believe

I can't watch videos at work, so I can't click the link to watch that, but I will say that yes, I believe in paranormal activity. I feel spirits, and am sensitive to their presence, even though I rarely see them.

Actually, the day this was originally posted was the 2-year anniversary of my husband's death, and for the last 40-45 minutes before I went to bed that night, I had a beautiful experience with him making his presence known and me talking to him while he stroked my face. Not all encounters are negative or scary. wine

RE: did you like halloween when you were a kid?

I don't hand out candy or treats because of my dogs. I either have to crate them for hours, or rush out onto my porch to hand out candy. I just turn out all lights and pretend I'm not home...or leave so that's true. wine

RE: did you like halloween when you were a kid?

Yes and no. I loved the candy part of it, but not the haunted houses and scary things associated with it.

Now I love it as a sacred time to honor my ancestors and deceased loved ones. It's not candy and costume time for me, but the sacred day of Samhain (pronounced sow-in). wine

RE: i got a game .

I have a corn chip in my left hand and a mouse in my right.

RE: If people are so perfect.....

Well, Jan, I think I found the inspiration for the bad traits thread. laugh

Really, we are all going to paint ourselves in the best light possible on a dating site if we're looking for a mate. I'm not now because I believe I've found him, but even when I was I was honest about my "dark side" and admitted when I made mistakes. None of us are perfect. And some of the bad ones have come into the forums...the trolls, for example, and the bitter ones with bad attitudes (though some of the latter heal and change).

None of us are perfect, we all have some bad traits. For example, I can have a very bad temper, though it's got a longer fuse on it than it used to have. When I blow, it's best to let me get it out of my system...takes about 5-10 minutes...and when it's done, it's done. I don't hold onto it and bring it up again later that week, months down the road, or years from now. Let me vent it, and later I can't tell you what I was so angry about at all. And my sense of humor isn't far away...make me laugh out loud, you'll diffuse it faster. grin I'd have to say that this is my worst trait.

RE: Let's reveal our bad traits!

rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing I love it, Gowan. Apparently I share some of your evil traits, except the recliner.

Hmmm...okay, I have two dogs that live with me and are allowed on the furniture in the living room, and are allowed to be dogs, rather than expecting them to act like furry adults.

I have two teenage sons who are my first priority in life. If I have to choose between them and a man, they'll win every time.

I insist on having the toilet seat and lid down because my dogs have a water bowl in the kitchen, and because I believe in Feng Shui.

My home is mine, and nobody has the right to tell me how to live in it. I will respect the same in your home.

wine You're right, very cathartic.

RE: your first love

hug comfort And it means that the two of you weren't meant to be, or it would have been resolved and you'd be together now. However, obviously it was meant as an experience to teach you how to love and how to treat those you love. You loved, lived, and learned...and that's what life is all about.

My first love was an 18-yr old that I met just shy of my 16th birthday at the timeshare resort my family belongs to, the week of the 4th of July. I still have many fond memories of him and our brief time together. He taught me many things, but mostly the power of myself as a woman, and he was pretty mature for his young age. wine

RE: Gubmint, and how it works...

You think the Government realizes that it's inefficient? Heck no!! They think they're doing the right thing and that all things will be better if under government control.

We The People need to unite and overthrow the government and start over. Honestly, it's the only solution I see to the mess we're in now. Time to start over. wine

RE: Help with Psycho Chick?

If you only have a small circle of close friends, I'd change phone numbers and email addresses, and get a sturdy lock for the door or a dog. wine

RE: Life lessons I've learned

I never ask a question unless I'm prepared for any answer. None are wrong, but there are some that can hurt, depending on the question asked. I don't ask if I can't take a hurtful answer. wine

RE: Christians... There Is NO RAPTURE!!!

HL, I can't watch the video at work, but will comment on the Rapture, and my belief regarding it. I think it coincides with all of the other prophecies like the Mayan 2012 and the Native American 7th Fire prophecies. Some evolutionary leap is going to happen to us very soon, we're preparing for it on many levels, and I see the Rapture as just another prophecy relating to this.

Have a great day, and I hope your thread stays polite and on topic. hug

RE: Would you break up with your boyfriend/girlfriend if they hooked up with a stranger once ?

That, Cas, is wehre it gets tricky. Can there be cheating if you've never actually met? Or is it cheating if someone is talking to multiple people and declaring their love and exclusivity to each of them? Each of us must make our own decision on that one, I guess. (And personally, I think the latter way.) bouquet

RE: the meaning of life for you is?

To me, our purpose for being human is soul growth, and all that we experience is part of the process. We're spiritual beings on a human journey. wine

RE: Would you break up with your boyfriend/girlfriend if they hooked up with a stranger once ?

Ditto, on all counts. wine

RE: Relationship problem. X-girl friend

As Morgan said, only you can decide what to do here. You know how she broke it off with you, and what she said then, and how you feel about her now. I will say that one thing it would be good to do is at least be kind about it if you reject her now. There's no need to be unkind unless she pushes you too far.

RE: this goes to far

I agree that we live in a world where things have gone too far. Children can't wear pirate costumes with swords anymore, even in kindergarten, and a boy scout who brings a tool with utensils to school gets suspended, even though he's a dream student. sigh

Honestly, this is ridiculous, and I hope they win so that maybe the tide will start turning. And it's not all just because of Columbine, nor just affecting schools. Have you traveled on an airline lately? The things not allowed to be carried on them are just as ridiculous post-9/11. We need to get a grip and stop living in fear at the cost of living with ridiculous rules.

Benjamin Franklin said it well: "Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both." wine

RE: Relationship problem. X-girl friend

As the song says, "you don't know what you've got til it's gone".

RE: Relationship problem. X-girl friend

And she knows that you won't treat her badly like the man she just left.

Offer her your friendship if you feel you can do that, but unless you want your heart broken again, I'd be careful about a relationship. Of course, it could also be a case of now she realizes what she had with you and honestly still has deep feelings for you and is being genuine. I'd proceed cautiously and slowly if you still have feelings for her. wine

RE: what do you prefer- spontaneity or stability in a relationship?

I prefer a mixture of both. I like someone who is stable overall, but can be spontaneous. They'd have to be in order to keep up with me, since I've been known to change plans at the last minute "just because". laugh

I do need the relationship to be stable, though, and a man to be a bit of a homebody since I am more homebody than party animal. However, I'd like them to be sociable enough to go places with me when groups are gathered. wine

RE: OMG!!!! Think I'm Going To Faint.......

Yes, we are, and sorry about that Morgan. Done after this one. wine

I'll check those out and re-evaluate him then. Hmmm. I'm willing to give second chances...after all, he might actually have grown up.

Again, sorry for the hijack, Morgan. It wasn't intentional. hug

RE: OMG!!!! Think I'm Going To Faint.......

I've looked at your pics, and I totally disagree. scold

That, or you're the best looking Lurch I've seen. laugh

RE: OMG!!!! Think I'm Going To Faint.......

Thankfully, my two teenage sons don't expect me to speak "basketball-ish" or "football-ish" to have a decent conversation. laugh They do keep trying to drag me into playing video games, though. doh

And I was laughing hard at myself for that one! laugh

Soccer isn't followed as much in most of the US, but it does have its fans here.

The Finnish guy, I rolled. It's hard to laugh that hard silently, but I managed...twice, 'cuz your comment on it made me do it again! I might be able to breathe normally by the time I leave work tonight. rolling on the floor laughing

RE: OMG!!!! Think I'm Going To Faint.......

rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing OMG, wiping tears now...that is definitely NOT how I see myself.

Thanks, my friend. That was my second really good laugh today.

RE: OMG!!!! Think I'm Going To Faint.......

I think he's too stuck on himself to be attractive, but I'll agree with the talent after seeing him in "7 Years In Tibet" (the only movie of his I think I've seen, but what do I know?) dunno

Sorry...have I ever mentioned that I'm rather impervious to what most consider "eye candy"? I'm not fond of "pretty boys", but do like rugged good looks and strength.
