RE: WHO IS OPPOSING PEACE IN GAZA ??

Hugz,

You really missed the point I made. You've allowed yourself to be a rug and get walked on by Ray.
Let me try and put it one more way that I believe you would possibly understand. If you get a supeona to appear in court, do you answer it or does someone else go to court impersonating your words?
So if ya don't get the point from here on, that's your problem, not mine. OK sister, you be the rug and we'll call it a truce for the night. Kudos to ya too!! Have a good evening handshake

RE: WHO IS OPPOSING PEACE IN GAZA ??

How dare I insinuate? Oh Hugz, c'mon. If ya write to someone specificly, do you honestly expect someone else different to write back? One might say that another person is impersonating. Example: Try writing a letter to a friend and getting a response back from someone else. You'd be saying, "WTF is going on?...someone else shouldn't be answering my letter."
If Ray is Ray and You are You, then Ray had no business in budding in to something that was addressed to you. It's known as impersonating you.
I don't care if ya get mad girl, don't like what I write or disagree with my views,it is your right. And I'm OK with that. But at least I hear it from you directly. Now that is the point I'm trying to make here.
No matter if your views agree with Ray's, your beef should be with Ray for shutting you out. Go yell at him for giving you the old heave-ho to your right to speak. I gave you the chance to speak...he didn't.
I'm outta here for the night. G'nite and sleep well. yawn

RE: WHO IS OPPOSING PEACE IN GAZA ??

Ray,

Here's my answer on this question you asked.
Did you not ever go to school to learn how to take paragraphs in a book and paraphrase them down a bit?
On occassion it may be appropriate to cut and paste several pages, but to use it repeatedly with every detail on the postings with page after page after page after page in a row for eternity seems to get old after awhile. I know you've seen what I'm talking about.
There's only 50-51 pages for each forum allowed.
Truthfully, I personally kinda glance or skip the superfluous multiple cut n paste pages and read the poster's actual writings and dialogues. It's more personable and upfront.I may not always like what they have to say, but I will critique it and respond directly back to them. That's fair play. And they may respond back to me.
I've been told by others that they do the same thing and skip over and go right to the posters own real writings.
If someone wants the readers to read the entire chapter or chapters in a book, then just refer us to the book and pages where it is and let us decide whether we want to read it. Or just point out something very specific in that entire reading.
Hopefully, I've clearly answered your question.

RE: WHO IS OPPOSING PEACE IN GAZA ??

Ya know Ray, you make a one line quote of the question I asked to Hugz. So don't ask me the question, go ask Hugz the question. It was directly questioned to her with more than one line to the entire posting.
By you answering for her, I am gathering the following possibilities:
#1) You are the real Hugz here and that her picture and profile are phony or that you are the phony and trying to impersonate Hugz. That is a strong possibility of what you are conveying to me here.
#2)Or is it that you think that you have to speak for her because maybe you think she is not literate or educated enough to answer for herself?
Personally, I think that she is highly educated and literate and can very well answer for herself without you pulling one liners out of context without the entire posting together.
You have failed miserably at the rules of conduct within a debate forum to allow a person who is asked a question to speak. You basically shut out her right to speak when you jumped in and pulled a one liner out of context. That's the way propaganda writers do...pull a word or sentence out of context. Well bud, you've lost your credibility.
I'll await her reply....whether I like it or not....but at least it will be hers and hers alone. Unless sweetheart, you are the real Hugz and she is the imposter.

RE: WHO IS OPPOSING PEACE IN GAZA ??

ASK THE QUESTION YOU HIGHLIGHTED IN BOLD RED PRINT TO HUGZ. Perhaps she can clarify her stance better regarding the equality of both people's living in peace. If she has the solution that makes the United Nations, the Palestinians and the Israelis all happy, then I'm all ears and I'll listen.
Hopefully, she'll cut down on the cut and pasting a bit.

RE: WHO IS OPPOSING PEACE IN GAZA ??

And please do tell us all where exactly on this earth do you think that the State of Israel should exist, considering that Hamas does not wish it to exist?
And into what country's land do you wish to export the entire State of Israel next? Perhaps Canada as it has so much land? It can't be the U.S. because it would shoot to heck our immigration quota and blow apart our welfare system to support more immigrants and integrate them into our society. Maybe they will live in your neighborhood Hugz and you get the job to integrate them into Canadian society. Mexico, South America maybe?
And while you're at it, please do tell us if you think the Palestinians in Gaza should exist....but at the expense of other human rights?
Since you have broached the subject, I'm just trying to get you to clarify better the existence of Gaza too so we may see both sides of what you may think is the solution to the problems at hand. If your idea is reasonable, then perhaps both people's leaders and the United Nations should be notified.
Point I'm really trying to make here is that you are being realistic in your thinking when you write that Israel has a right to exist, but more idealistic when it comes to where you think they can live and exist in peace. You're either for Israel's right to exist or you're for Hamas palestinian doctrine of anihilation of the Jews to remove them from the land permanently. Which is it girlfriend?
Just my opinion here Hugz, I don't think the Israelis are moving their State of Israel out anytime soon. And I doubt the world thinks so either, nor wants that to occur.

RE: WHO IS OPPOSING PEACE IN GAZA ??

I agree with you too on this one. I most certainly recall having many air raid and civil defense drills in the 1960s where we went down to the basement of our elementary school. When we heard the 12noon sirens, we all moved. We also had an an air raid shelter under our homes and kept canned food under the basement steps.
People thought that we would get attacked. People had radiation fallout shelters built. I never doubted for one minute that an attack would occur directly in this country again in my lifetime. Just how, when and where was the question.
BTW, I grew in a suburb up right outside of New York City in one of the boroughs Westchester County. So we took civil defense rather seriously back then even.
But when the Cuban crisis passed, our country got rather lax in security my opinion. We've taken a few hits to toughen up a bit since.

RE: WHO IS OPPOSING PEACE IN GAZA ??

Gee, just for a moment...try thinking outside of the political box. Consider that Israel has been so frequently hit with suicide bombers and various attacks from terrorists inside their borders and consider that the U.S. has been hit with a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor, bringing the U.S. into WW2. It would be a no brainer for Iserel Harel in 1980 to have very good insight to remind the U.S. that attacks within their land could happen again if the U.S. isn't vigilant. It'a also a no brainer to remind the U.S. that an attack would be most likely in a populated area where international and big money is being moved.
Some people do have good intuition and insight based on past experiences. Perhaps Harel was Mossad chief because he could "think outside of the box" and most likely was a very brilliant man.
I don't buy into your conspiracy idea. I put more faith in good old fashion intuition and insight experience in this case for warning the U.S. Others may put faith in reading the Bible Code to predict future events. Certain letters in certain orders spell words and sentences that tell of the future events. Others think Nostradamus predicted everything.
Many people have a gift of good insight, intuition, gut feeling when something is going to occur in the here and now or in the future. Life experiences help fine tune those feelings. Many mothers seem to be in tune with that gift. But not all. Probably many men too.
In the end, it is up to each person to choose how they wish to interpret anything they hear, are told, or read. If we all had a crystal ball, would we really want to see what is in store for us the future?(maybe a new thread here?) Somehow, I think not. So for now, all we have is what we hear, are told, what we read and the gifts of insight, intuition and gut feeling. And I think Harel used all of the above in his discussion with Michael D. Evans.

RE: WHO IS OPPOSING PEACE IN GAZA ??

So you think I'm trying to control this forum? It seems there are alot more of all the Jew haters here with one sided morals, that don't seem to think Hamas does anything wrong. I don't have to say Israel does anything wrong because all of you have been beating on that topic for so long. So since the bulk of you are so pro Hamas, it must be a yes nod and approval for all of you, that it's OK to train little Palestinian children to hate and kill(see Hamas training videos), hide amongst their children and women, stap bombs to their females and children, shoot and terrorize their own people and even break the truce they just signed. They started to shoot rockets into Israel(maybe even poison gas rockets) even as the Israelis pulled back across the border. Well, I don't think it is OK and I'll stand my ground here on that one. Even if it is an unpopular view!!
I hope you also know that there are many, many incidents of suicide bombings throughout Israel and mistreatment of Jews in other Islamic countries that could probably rival the pages of Palestinian mistreatments. A border wall was built to attempt to keep the suicide bombers out. Some here have said that is apartheid. Yes it is and I support it.
In conclusion, I don't care one bit if anyone doesn't like what I have to say or if ya don't like me. I'M JEWISH, PRO ISRAEL AND PROUD OF IT!! AND I'M NOT BOWING DOWN TO PLACATE ANYONE ELSE'S CRAP THAT HAS BEEN POSTED IN SUPPORT OF HAMAS OR JEW HATE!! cswelcome

RE: WHO IS OPPOSING PEACE IN GAZA ??

Gee Trish,

Perhaps there was something about that picture that you posted that bothered Javid1964 also. Maybe he'll tell you or tell you off. Either way, he does seem a bit disgruntled with you at the moment.
I have a feeling that you hit a raw nerve with him.

RE: What is the worst physical pain you have ever experienced?

Had the same thing in my 20s and early 30s. A doctor told me to taper down on caffeine, sugar and salt and eventually try to eliminate it from the diet or minimize it.
Well, by 3 months along of the diet change, the severe cramping pain completely subsided. There is a direct correlation with the amount of sugar, salt and caffeine we crave around that time of month.
It's amazing how addicted our bodies are to those 3 substances.

RE: WHO IS OPPOSING PEACE IN GAZA ??

GAZA, Jan 29 (Reuters) - A Palestinian has accused Islamist Hamas militants in control of the Gaza Strip of torturing and killing his brother for publicly criticising them.

Osama Atallah, a teacher, was a supporter of the Fatah movement of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. Hamas fighters drove Fatah militia out of Gaza in 2007 and fought Israel's army in a three-week war this month.

His brother, Bassam, said on Thursday that masked gunmen in two jeeps had arrived at the family home in the Gaza City on Tuesday. They identified themselves as members of Hamas internal security and arrested his brother Osama.

Bassam said the Hamas security service told the Atallah family that Osama would be released in a matter of hours. But a Hamas government official, who is also a member of the Atallah family, later denied the teacher was in custody.

The family subsequently received a telephone call from hospital that Osama Atallah was in critical condition.

He later died of his wounds.

Ibrahim Abu An-Naja, a senior Fatah leader in the Gaza Strip, was quoted in a statement as saying four to eight members of Fatah were killed by Hamas during the war with Israel.

The statement said Abu An-Naja declined to give names. He said Hamas gunmen has fired on members of Fatah and shot them in the legs, and some had been placed under house arrest.

Fatah sources said Osama Atallah, a Fatah activist, had been threatened by Hamas "because of his public and continued criticism of the performance of the Hamas militias in Gaza".

They accused Hamas of "severely torturing and then strangling" Osama Atallah. They said bullets in his body could have been fired after he died.

Pretz,
You missed the point of the forum completely. No one but you is talking nuclear power in the ongoing current middleastern conflict forum. Please don't mix the issue in to stir the pot anymore that it already is.

RE: WHO IS OPPOSING PEACE IN GAZA ??

Antjo,

Hello there! Trish's posting was totally inappropriate and I stand my ground on that one.
No, you would not know why the children around Fallujah are born with birth defects. One could deduct that effects from gas or by products of the gas and chemicals could still be in the ground in different places in Iraq and seep into water supplies. Much like chemicals seep into water aquafers here in the U.S. When we start seeing clusters of birth defects or high childhood cancer rates in certain areas of the U.S., the soil and water are tested. Many times, chemicals, lead, asbestos or their poisonous byproducts do seep into the waterbeds and dirt and have been the cause of birth defects. One example is Love Canal in New York State. Do you test in your country when birth defects occur in clusters?
As for contaminated dirt with chemical spills, our Hazmat(hazardous materials team)goes in and does cleanups. I have met a hazmat team and toured their large bus. They have a small suitcase of equipment and some larger ones that are used to identify 1000s of different chemicals with 100% accuracy. It is part of my nursing volunteer community disaster and bioterrorism prepardness education. Many communities have this training. Hazmat teams cover several states in different regions. All 50 states are covered.
So it is not a blind argument to state that there may be something in the ground around Fallujah from Saddam's time causing those birth defects. With the war still going on in Iraq and the Fallujah Triangle, it would seem rather difficult right now to go in and do some serious checking of underground water and dirt samples. Enough IED pieces are polluting the top landscape there.
Now for Trish to put out that picture with the insinuation that Gazans may look like that, because of Israel is preposterous. Israel is not putting out the gas chamber pictures of WW2 and saying that this may be what their children may look like because of Hamas rockets.
And furthermore, if and I say if Gazans would have those clusters of birth defects, one has to also look at what may be under the dirt that is in the tunnels that permeate throughout under Gaza and may affect the water and dirt. Don't discount anything that may be underground because the people live right above it. Just like the citizens of Love Canal. They didn't know immediately what their homes were built upon. I doubt Hamas tells the population everything that is underground. Too many spies in Gaza I was told on the forum earlier.
BTW, I assure you that the MODs and silent readers of these forums that do not like what is said will point a finger and report any of us. That is not intimidation, that is a fact and their right. Like it or not!! Next time, I will stay silent on that so you don't yell I'm intimidating anyone if they get blocked out by the MODs. You win on that point Antjo. Trucecomfort

RE: WHO IS OPPOSING PEACE IN GAZA ??

Trish,
I think this was very inappropriate for you to post. SHAME ON YOU!!! And I thought you had a much more educated open mind. You sure had me bluffed. Perhaps you may recall that Saddam Hussein had various stores of chemical weapons he experimentally used on various ethnic populations in his country. Chemicals also stay in the ground for a long time.(Funny how we don't hear anything against Saddam Hussein coming out of your mouth). Many bodies were found from people he gassed and occassionally we read where new mass graves are found.
Since the birth defects are around Fallujah, digging for the root of the cause will most likely start around Fallujah and the side effects from Saddam's chemical testing.
If anything, you owe an apology to CSers for posting such a vile posting. It is downright deplorable of you. Wonder if you're mature enough to admit when ya stuck your own foot in your own rump and apologize toCSers. It takes a lot of maturity and self analysis to admit to an error in judgement as vindictive as what you posted.
You cry foul when anyone attacks your atheism or anything personal about you in different forums, but yet you take joy in instigating and reviving painful stories for others.
Have you for once ever wondered before you posted, if there were any Iraqi CS members who have lost their family to Saddams gassings? No matter what you feel about Gaza, you have no doubt brought a painful memory to the forefront for CS Iraqi members. The MODs sharp fingers do point at you.
Thank you.

RE: If you're English...Have you ever seen or heard of Gilligan's Island?

Yeah, all the reruns are on TV still. Recently in the Sunday newspaper magazine section, there was a write up about the main stars of the show and were pictured as they look now and the feelings they have towards the show. I didn't save the write up though and don't recall much more of it.
I do recall that Ginger said that she hated playing the part she had and hated wearing the outfits she was fitted with.
I believe the captain and Mr. and Mrs. Howell are no longer alive.

RE: WHO IS OPPOSING PEACE IN GAZA ??

OK Mr. Littleboy...I suggest you read my further comments on the other forum before you think that I was misguiding your words. It's not a personal Jew thing here as to why I made the comment back.
It is you who put your religious book out there as a dart board. If any other faith had put their book out there on the forum as you did and told such a story, anyone not familiar with the stories in that book might possibly think that there could be some validity to it or questions it. Most of us probably do not know everyone's belief in their creation story. So, in the future, please don't use your religious book in any way on any forum if you are only poking fun at something or you will be accusing others of misguiding your words too. It is a disrespect of your own bible to even associate it on the same posting with a fabricated story at the same time.
Glad you finally took credit for posting the fabricated story. Narrow minded here....no I am not! Thank you.

RE: Darwin's Theory of Evolution

I've seen some very hairy men out there. When they take off their shirt....oh my gosh!!!rolling on the floor laughing

RE: Darwin's Theory of Evolution

I'm not surprised at all. These creatures are very territorial. Afterall, they do have their own clans and the males do fight to protect intruders from encroaching on their clan. Perhaps National Geographic might have some video footage somewhere? Just a thought!

RE: Darwin's Theory of Evolution

I agree 100%. It explains evolution and the large diversity of living organisms quite well. Great point you brought up Gb. You and Darwin on definitely on to something big here.cheers

Apes dropping bombs on other apes?? Maybe a coconut or 2 in place of a bomb. War is war afterall.rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

RE: WHO IS OPPOSING PEACE IN GAZA ??

It's his made up dream story that he posted here that he's trying to say is all over BBC,CNN,NY TIMES, FOX NEWS and is calling it a fact to the CS forum readers. If the dream story isn't fabricated, then it is up to him to show us all where that dream story came out on those stations. If he can't prove exactly where, then the story is a fake and that's all it is. He stated it as a fact so he has to prove it's validity. And blogs are not acceptable as proof either. Fair is fair!! And if it's a lie...then he's busted!!

RE: My daughter

Fred, congratulations for doing such a terrific job of being a dad and committing the time and love to a very special gift that God gave you.
Now, you are going through the pre-empty nest syndrome stage. When she leaves, you will sit in her room and cry, hence the real empty nest feeling. Suddenly your roll as caretaker, chauffeur, bank of dad and more has changed. You suddenly feel like your not needed anymore. I cried for 3 months when my son moved out, even though he lives in the same town.
When she moves out, it is then time for you to restart your life again. Slowly inching out to meet someone to share life and laughter again will take on a new meaning.
Starting here on CS is a very good start.

RE: WHO IS OPPOSING PEACE IN GAZA ??

Something to keep in mind Callibya...Muhammad Abushaban of Central Gaza City was speaking directly from Gaza, not the U.S., Canada or anywhere else. He is not an Israeli spy but rather a decent man who did not sell his soul to the Hamas and is able to finally speak his mind what atrocities that Hamas has brought upon the Palestinian people. Most likely, Hamas will probably shoot him dead for this statement when they find him.
Hamas, like some of the CSers here, gets very mad when anyone wishes to have free speech that dissents from their views. Like Mohammad said... Hamas has their spies.

When someone speaks out, Hamas are afraid, so they shut him up using force. Former Soviet leader Joseph Stalin used the same techniques.

A couple of days ago they shot someone in the legs here in Nuseirat camp, after he made jokes about the Hamas interior minister, Said Siyam being killed in a strike. Fatah people especially hated him.

Hamas has its spies who overheard him and they told the head of the intelligence services!

After they shot his legs, the man was shouting 'God bless Hamas!', so they wouldn't kill him. They left him bleeding in the street in the dark, and people only rescued him after the gunmen had gone.

I will repeat again a part of the article just what this man has said.

RE: Faith healing and dead children

I've heard that story before. Which brings me to agreeing... that many times, the medical help is there, sent by God. I do believe that God created the earth and there is a cure for every illness and it is found on this earth somewhere. And I do believe that God has enabled man to find many of the cures. And more will be coming in the future.
GUESS GOD DOES SEND THE HELP, MAN JUST HAS TO FIND IT AND GET ONBOARD.

RE: Faith healing and dead children

I have to agree with you here Conrad. For a parent to ignore giving medical treatment to a child in a case of painful deadly appendicitis, would be tantamount to Gross Negligence by the parents. In this case, I'd have to say that the law should trump the parent's "God willed it" decision to withold life saving medical care. Preserving the life of the child should hold precedence here.
In my student nursing clinical days, my hospital med surg rotation took me to the care of a 16 yr old teenage boy suffering from appendicitis. The pain was unbearable for the young boy and heartbreaking for me to see.He suffered a week because docs didn't know what was wrong. Using my newly learned nursing assessment skills, I told the charge nurse what my suspicions were. The docs followed up and removed the appendix shortly afterwards and he was OK after that.

RE: WHO IS OPPOSING PEACE IN GAZA ??

Here is something from within Gaza that shows that even with the Israeli bombing, not all Palestinians from within the territory beleive in what Hamas is doing. It goes to show that even they are divided with their emotions and feelings too! Guess the sentiments run high on both sides of the fence. He was very brave to speak out.

AHMED, in Nuseirat refugee camp
There is no mutual accord between Hamas and Israel in this ceasefire - each side has its own truce and conditions. So people think the violence might start again, once Barack Obama has been inaugurated as US president.

Everything has stopped now, apart from the drones circling 200m above our heads, round and round. It's a constant buzzing noise, very wearing.

It's like an adventure for Hamas, but people's lives are not a game

Yesterday was great though, people began to get back to normal.

The Hamas statements in the media, 'We didn't leave our homes, we will stay on in our broken houses, in a tent if we have to' are nonsense. There is so much suffering.

Why tease Israel, why play with fire? It's like an adventure for Hamas, but people's lives are not a game. Why bring about this war? It's not to open the crossings, because that can be achieved by the Palestinian Authority and Egypt.

What's the point of making enemies with Israel? Israeli people can be good, we can live with them. But the amount of hatred here in Gaza, both for Israel and for Hamas... yes, hatred for both. You can feel it.

My family is divided over who to blame for this. My mother blames Israel for responding so harshly. The other members of my family blame Hamas for all this. But these views are for indoors only, no one must hear them outside.

After they shot his legs, the man was shouting 'God bless Hamas!', so they wouldn't kill him. They left him bleeding in the street in the dark, and people only rescued him after the gunmen had gone.

We must stop playing these dirty games. Palestinian and Israeli residents should visit each other to discuss and explain things, the situation can't be solved by the leaders.

If we don't move forward, things will move backwards to violence, and very soon, I'm sure.

RE: Faith healing and dead children

I was fired from a job once because I didn't follow a court order and withold liquid food (that was administered through a tube in the stomach)from a woman who had a stroke but was still up and walking around.
Her lawyer was her DPOA-HC and finances. There was substantial money for him if she died. Well, he argued to the courts that this was not the quality of life she would have wanted and the feeding should stop and she be allowed to die. But yet, not to stop the medicines.
The judge granted the order to stop the feeding. Basically, this put me in a position of legal assisted euthanasia.
End of story is....I morally couldn't do it. Especially since Hospice was not even involved yet They became involved days later as she weakened very much to the point where she was near death from the starvation. I gave continuity of care to another nurse.
No.... no one can judge what they think the family of the little girl in question should do. Or the little girl's choice of what to do. It is everyone's choice to live or die with their belief or non belief in God and to act accordingly. We all live with our conscience. As you may know, sometimes even with the best of medicine around... a person's agony is just prolonged and they die in the end. And sometimes...they live. JMO! A real tough call here!!

RE: WHO IS OPPOSING PEACE IN GAZA ??

Since the borders are now open to allow supplies and humanitarian aide in, there should be no reason that the Palestinians should need to redig the tunnels. Seems more like they just want to smuggle in more weapons to restart their attacks on Israel again.
Perhaps you are a Rabbi or have studied under the Rabbis that you are so knowledgeable of what Jewish teaching are regarding other humans in general as you have stated above? So we can gather here from your words that you are of 100% Jewish heritage or a converted Jew, since you are rather astute on what you believe are the Jewish teachings.
Seems more like the Palestinian's Hamas teachings do not recognize the Jews/Israelis, just Yids to be slaughtered, factually based on Hamas's constitution. Eh? This has been pointed out by some of the forum posters in some of the Gaza threads.
The Israelis have pulled back into their own borders. Let's see if Hamas really wants peace and stops the rocket firing into Israel! We'll just have to wait and see if they can keep their promise. They have a chance for peace but if they choose aggression again, I'm not so sure that the world will come to their rescue again as Israel pounds them to smithereens.
So for now, we'll just have to wait it out and see what happens over there.sad flower

RE: Casey Anthony

Tater,
Rent the movie "Gone Baby Gone." It's very well done and will leave you sitting on the edge of your seat throughout the movie. You will be wondering whether the little blond girl is dead or not and whether she was shot and drowned (as the movie inuendoed) when she jumped off a cliff into a deep water filled quarry to chase after something that she usually treasured to carry around. She was to be given back by drug dealers in exchange for money when this scene occurred.
Anyway, won't tell you more as the twists are so many. Movie will leave a permanent memory and really get you thinking. Very thought provoking and moving film.thumbs up
