In 7th grade I purposely failed the exam for the "GATE" program... it´s hard enough to get accepted by your peers when your mother makes you wear dresses instead of jeans to school... never mind being separated into a special class for smart kids. The things I had to do to prove that I was "cool" and not a nerd or geek...
Which of the philosophy´s would they need to share?
Realism and nominalism Rationalism and empiricism Skepticism Idealism Pragmatism Phenomenology Existentialism Structuralism and post-structuralism The analytic tradition Moral and political philosophy Metaphysics Ethical
Don´t get philosophy confused with religion... while religion is based on philosophy... philosophy is not based on religion.
Philosophy is a science... the word means "love of knowledge" You have just stated exactly what a scientist does... it´s all about coming up with theories and proving or disproving them. The big ones like how did the universe happen... have many theories and they are still coming up with new ones and we don´t know if any of them will be proven beyond a doubt.
Philosophers and Scientists are both people who search for truth and knowledge... I can´t imagine a better pair to have great discussions.
Every time I think I may have judged you to harshly and should ease up and give you a chance... you post something like this and once again confirm my belief that you are one of the most vile men I´m happy I´ll never meet and want nothing to do with.
That´s half of what a good debate is all about... the hope that you actually get to learn something... I will often take an opposing view of how I really feel just to facilitate more points of view and get more info out there.
I love when I do one of those lazy days... when I don´t get out of my robe and have a good dvd marathon session and eat junk food, and don´t do my makeup... scuff around in cozy slippers and leave leave hair sticking out all over.... I brush my teeth and wash my face... but that´s about it...
You could just as easily say that Native Americans have more right to your home and property and in much more recent history... plan on giving it up anytime soon?
The Palestinians had been settled in that area for hundreds of years and it didn´t just stop with the initial land that Israel was given... the Israelis have continued to take land from Palestine. That entire region is predominantly Muslim... it was sheer stupidity to give the Jews "a home" in the middle of that nation that was never viable, the size it was, to provide homes and natural resources to maintain it´s self as an independent nation.
Spain is wonderful... and as wonderful as Spain is... Ibiza is even better! There is a magic here unlike anywhere I´ve ever lived. Don´t watch those awful "Ibiza uncovered" videos as all that shows is the horrible English tourists at their worst behaviour in San Antonio... a place we avoid at all costs...
I´ve always loved cooking and entertaining... which is why after years of being miserable but wealthy in a corporate job... I´m now in the food and bev industry... whether it´s bartending or managing or cooking...I love the business, especially when you can make a few hours of someone´s life a little bit more enjoyable.
If you make this direction I would be happy to share a bottle with you!
No... it was a serious one on one conversation, he´s actually not the first guy to say it either. The thing is I kind of get it in a way... not just the intelligence thing, I am a really strong personality and I don´t suffer fools easily in a relationship, it puts a lot of pressure on a man because I was raised very traditionally and so I want a partner to be a little bit stronger, a little bit smarter, a little bit more in control.
I spent 20 years as a single mom and business owner, I had to get tough and let people know I couldn´t be taken advantage of... I´ve forgotten how to show the softer aspects of my personality.
I come from the same type of family... my parents have been happily married for 53 years and the love they share for each other is obvious to anyone who observes them. My mom never worked outside the home but she raised 5 kids and we always had a fosterbaby to care for while I was growing up. Some of my favorite memories as a child was being in the garage with my dad while he was working on a project, fixing the washing machine, the car, building a bookcase....
My problem is they don´t make men like my Dad any more...
Yes... I´m sure the divorce rate is lower in Eastern block countries... when you create a situation that one person is dependent upon the other for a roof over their head, food in their mouth and above all the security and comfort of their children... it´s amazing what they will endure.
Also for every study used to prove a fact.. there is another study to be found that can prove just the opposite... the end results of a study are only as good as the information obtained.
Coffee vs Tea
Do that same study in a location that has a lot of immigrants from India or Britain and you will find the majority prefer tea...
As simple as this.... in the morning I like coffee, in the afternoon I drink tea... the time of day I answered that question would make a difference as to how I answered it.
RE: Science & Philosophy, do they ever get along?
