As long as a person is financially responsible and doesn´t resort to criminal acts to pay the bills then it´s not a problem.
I started out this season with no job... I was off the island for my daughters wedding and missed the hiring and with a very bad season, there wasn´t much work to be had so I either had to leave the island (not something I wanted to do) or get creative. I started making desserts for restaurants and then rented the kitchen in a bar... I now have a pretty good little business going and have had several job offers... It just takes a little creativity
When I first started on the forums a couple of years ago... I often felt invisible... but I stuck with it and have made some wonderful friends. I live on a small island in the med and have pretty much given up on the idea of finding a "love interest" here as I´m not the type to fall in love on line and face to face meetings are tough where I live, but I stick around because of the friends I´ve made.
Personally I think you should be removed. You have a highschool education and are an "artist". Who are you to be giving psychological guidance??? Your response to Koni was disgraceful.
Totally agree... my Dad was always someone who when making a purchase did the research first and then bought the best... he still has his last stereo that he bought 17 years ago... Have to run now, nice to chat!
Personally I think that anyone, male or female, who has to resort to "retail therapy" in order to feel good has something major missing from their lives...
I know that your response was kind of tongue in cheek... but this "disposable" attitude does seem to permeate every aspect of our society including relationships!
Agreed... I just don´t understand why humanity has become so caught up in having the newest, the fasted, the flashiest whatever... have people become so insecure in themselves that "the power of purchasing" is the only thing that makes them feel valuable?

When did it happen that what you can buy increases your value as a person? When did we go to a world of disposable products? While I don´t want to see China or any other country "brought to its knees" I would like to see a return to products that can actually be repaired for less money than it would be to buy a new one. Remember the day of TV and washing machine repair men? Now we just continue to purchase and dump into landfills all of our "necessities"...

I guess that I would be considered a stalker then... I gave up a long time ago on the idea of finding a match here, it´s just not very realistic to meet people face to face when you live on a little island in the Mediterranean...
So I´m here mainly to converse with friends who I have met over the past couple of years and I definitely have my favorites!
If you are truly in a partnership than anything that effects the 2 of you should be discussed and if he plans on being your long term partner than this decision certainly effects both of you. I sould have serious doubts about being in a relationship with anyone who made such serious decisions without discussion.
And before you guys harp on about women and abortions, it goes both ways... in the case of a serious relationship no major decisions should be made without the partners input.
Now that the decision has been made by you and your doctor... you still need authorization from the insurance company. I speak from personal experience, I had to wait 2 years before my HMO finally gave permission for my surgery, this cost me 2 to 3 days a month in lost work due to debilitating pain. My doctor as well as 2 others said the surgery was necessary but the clerk from my HMO thought I should continue to try alternative methods of dealing with the problem. So there is no spin... just personal experience.
As I said... I haven´t read the bill nor am I going to, it doesn´t effect me anymore so the bill itself could be crap for all I know. What I do advocate is socialized medicine... maybe the States should look at what countries who have succesful socialized medicine are doing and base their bill on that?
Right now under the HMO system your healthcare is being determined by unknown clerks with no medical knowledge what so ever... Maybe the unknown face in Washington will actually have to have a medical background...

I find it rather cowardly to have your legal team go over everything in order to find ways of saying things that insure you can´t be sued.
First off, I don´t believe the insurance industry has anything to do with increased longevity... it´s more about people being better informed and more health conscious. The US is miles behind in covering preventative health care via insurance.
2nd the quality of drugs doesn´t mean much to someone who can´t afford them.
I have been on a maintenance drug for 12 years and will be on it for another 10 years, the cost for me while living in the states was 97 dollars a month, my cost in Spain 3.34 euros a month. My last antibiotics prescription in the states was $114 for a 10 day supply... in Spain the same antibiotic cost 4.50 euros.
3rd that is total crap about not needing to pay hospital bills, I had 2 friends that had to file bankruptcy because of medical bills. One actually had insurance but because pre authorization wasn´t given the insurance company didn´t pay, the friend was in an auto accident and unconscious at the time of admittance to the hospital.
