Academics in Iran don't have any power to protect themselves much less thier ideas and positions on things, Trish. Academics comes into play when you have a free and open society to where those idea can be shared and explored.

In the case of Iran.....with the Mullahs and Clerics placing a strict Shilaw over them....the academics are between a rock and a hard place. They cannot even get thier names placed on the ballot to take elected office. Then when you put Pres. A into the mix......it just gets worse.

Know the very first thing Pres. A. did after returning to Iran from his
NYC visit and UN speech? Was not rush home and kiss the wife. Was not go home and knock a soccer ball around with the kids. Was not take the family to a diner.

He had a long day and into the night meeting with the Mullahs and Clerics of the Mosque of the 12 Domes outside of Tehran. They are his advisory group.

Between the power of the Pres. A and the religious rules of the Mullahs/Clerics......academics in Iran have little chance to effect the course of the country positively.

Well, I suspect that the Isreali have been war gaming this for about 5-7 years now.By far best for the Persian Gulf region is for this to be done with conventional weapons. There will be fewer '20 year no mans lands' if done that way.

But Isreal doesn't have the abilities for a 30 day air war over Iran. For a conventional weapons attacks that does the job well enough. jmo Hence needs to do it in several days. So we are back to nucs. The death toll in Iran will be in the millions. Every movie you have seen on a Nuclear winters...on post nuclear war effects......you can get to see in the real world and in real time media.

To be honest with you, Zee.....if it is between thier cities and..... western or Isreali cities......thiers are history and it is back to stone age for them in my book. They have had 15 years to change course on this. Now that course will be altered for them, by outsiders.

And my bet is the 17th Century Profet is a no show for them.

capitols letters...RADICAL Islamists......hate the Christian and Jewish

The US used their nuclear arsenal to defend Europe against Russian agression in Cold War.

Iran? Well it has a lot of connections with PEOPLE... like bin LADEN....
they presently have 500 AlQeada and Taliban in their country that
they refuse to extridite to Interantional Justice or American Justice
for 9/11. So what do you think that Iran will do with Nucs Gilly?

Maybe then they place one in the middle of your London.....and pull the bloody trigger. That is only 400,000 dead, Gilly.

So let us give them the bloody things so they can vaporize a bunce of people some place on Earth.

That is what I want to post with such a question.

Now for some honest talk on this. If I have gotten your attention.

Iran having nuclear devices will mean nuclear blackmail by the world's
most radical and revolutionary Islamic country in the world. Their form of Islam predicts that someday there will be vast tribulation around Iran, that in this tribulation will signal the forth coming of a 17th Century Islamic Proffet that will heard all the true believers back with him to paradise. Not one of the true believers, Gilly, you don't make the
trip.

Iran having nuclear devices gives them the means to accomplish this
mass suicide and tribulation hearlding the forth coming of this Proffet.
So let let develop nuclear devices, because the US, Isreal and other countries have them. Because we can 'trust' Iran to use them with
discretion.

What I am saying. Is the love is not mutually exclusive to winning and be successful in life, today or tomorrow. Just because this life ends with a death, does not mean that you have lost love.

Many will have the pain of a lost love one taken by accident and illness. But that does not make for the exception the love that was shared or that they still do love them. That all ends with death.

Indeed, I suggest, if you read the words (maybe read between the words a little) of the young woman in the post that lost her fiancee
in the tragic car accident. She still loves him today. Is she pained because his passing, of course. But that does not preclude her love
for him.....can go beyond the event of his death.

Also you consider her pain....to be the lose and her injury. I consider her pain to be her depth of love for this young man. Love is always positive even in death.

Hillary is going to be back....jmo.....she is tougher than Bill. She is working with Obama, presently.....still maybe that outside shot at
the VP. Also nice to have the $12.5m campaign debt covered.

Howard Dean and the DNC need to watch out. My bet is that Hillary has pretty long memory. She starts to put together the dots and pieces on the Florida and Michigan shift to early election dates.
And the DNC cutting their vote to 1/2......she is not going to be a
happy camper in Obama land.

They are using a new weapon in Iraq. That is highly effective and very deadly.

It is called a 'lob bomb'. Actually what it is a modified 122mm Russian or
Chinese built rocket. It is fired from a vehicle in 4-9 at a time. It has been modified with a cell phone or other device to trigger when over the target. This is a air burst effect that give a large area of impact.

The estimate is that once you see one coming....you have two second to take cover.

And miltiary intelligence is saying that the modified rockets are likely coming.........from...........yes, you got it....................Iran.

It is the only way it happens. With the numbers he got during the primaries......even if you split Hillary 50/50 and the indepedant 50/50.....Obama wins.

But if you Jesse Jacksons.....making comments that split his black vote....you have Rev. Wright popping in to break the left vote,
and Bill Clinton being luke warm to spilt the Clinton Machine vote....
all of a sudden you are dea even....and McCain has a chance

Just my guess, but I think that his staff are not serving him well.

They are taking him into positions like this to gain the Hispanic vote.
When he will lose a much larger white vote......it does not add up.

Every gov't form we have here in Florida...is both Spanish and English.
We have to have Spanish interpretors at our election polls. And most gov't office have then on staff.

If Obama is oing to make a push for dual langauge....he is going to lose a lot of votes. Mid road Democrats don't like it.

Dude is a little out numbered right now with out Opal. Also both are trying to figure out the right turn that Obama has made.

I mentioned early on that Obama would come mid road after he got the nomination...both did not take me seriously.

I figure it like this.......Dude has lost his shining star......with Obama's turn to the right......and he is trying to figure out how such can be done by a man of honor and intrigrity......so kind of feel bad for him.

Wonder what Dude will say when Obama asks Cheney to be his VP?
Also wonder what Opal will say? And asks Condi Rice to stay on as his Sect of State? And gates to be his Sect of Defense? Maybe adds GWB to be on his advisory team? It is hard to lose a icon to the right.....brings tears to your eyes.

Jesse Jackson position is saying Obama's faith based programs can subsitute many of the gov't aid programs. Kids this is the heart of the two differences. Jackson has always seen gov't aid program as the way out. Obama is saying you can do it as a responsible individual, if given the opportunity.

Jackson is going to lose this one.....Obama will sit there....and let him spin and twist and crumple. Obama has the nomintation wrapped, for Jackson to attack him.........is like kicking a stone with a bare foot.
The stone is not going to say ouch. But your foot........is different thing.

Here is why the Monica thingee was a danger. Let us say Pres. XYZ is having a affair with Sect. ABC. It is a relationship both inside and out side the White House. Both are trying to keep the affair under the covers and from becoming public.

Yet some way.....this affair becomes known by others. The others are less than honorable.....and begin to blackmail the President to keep silence. That is the problem with hidden affairs around the Oval Office.

Pres. XYZ. likely would do just about anything to keep such info becoming public. Wish a nuclear device? 1000 pounds of bullion from
Fort Knox? A small war in the third world country? Have the goods on a President......and he can make it happen.

Please note that this is purely a hypotheotical. No actual names have been used to protect the guilty and innocent.

That is an idea.......Hillary can get the same divorce attroney as Brinkely. He has the 9 DoJ attroneys that were fired now on staff.
They can review the Clinton's pre nupt....the one the Bill signed
when he was not inhalling.

They will proceed to tell Hillary.......'everything he owns is yours'.
Including all right to his future income and to his future speaking
contracts. Hillary will ask.....when do I retire?

They will say......as soon as we get the deposit check for our services.

Bill learning of this soon to be filed motion to seperate the two. Will go to Barak and beg him to take her as his VP. To keep her from retiring. Seeing that it is his only hope to avoid it. Barak begin the kind and good man that he is.....will accept her on the ticket......and we now have the Dream Team of Obama and Clinton
