I mentioned this earlier. I am looking forward to Obama/Mccain campaign in the fall. If he loses to McCain.....far left is in hurt city in the US. Hillary and her Dem machine will come back with a vengance on him and the far left. Far left will not get another chance for 10-15 years.
Barah if he loses.....he gets a couple of choices, I think. We talked of them in a earlier blog. But Hillary and the mod dems will seal him and the far left away from the Dem party leadership.
I see this as a chance to crunch the far left in the US. So smiles here :-)
The mod dem and Hillary see Barak and the far left as stealing her run for the Presidency. She was so confident that this was hers when it began. Now....with FL and MI being cancelled out by him.....and they feel this to be unfair politics. So? They will not be nice and gracious if he loses to McCain, guarrenteed. They will try to bury him....
Let me see....a few recent human rights declarations of recent times:
1. Iraqi Kurds to Sadam Hussien. Don't send Chemical Ali here to north Iraq to drop chemical artelliry and bombs on us.
2. Iraqi Shia to Sadam Hussien. Don't send helicopter gunships to attack us as we protest you.
3. Afgahnistani people in the northern area of the country to the Taliban. Don't place land mines under the food parcels that the Americans have air dropped to us around our surrounded villages that are starving.
4. Newly weds to Sadam sons after they were married. Don't make preform for you on our wedding night.
5. Capturing Iraqi by Alqeada of Iraq. Don't take me to the bed springs for electrical shocks again.
Wish me to go on? There is along list of human right violations by Sadam, AlQeada, Hezbollah, Hamas, and the others parties in this conflict.
But it just seems a lot safer to stand outside the White House and cry about American human right's violations....than to do it in these other places to me. There you better come packin and ready to defend yourself with that gun you don't anyone to carry.

Also this Opal. I went to McCain website today to see what his position is on a homeland for Palestine. Not much there...I did not search long....but none of the high % hits had anything on it. My bet is McCain is undeclared on it.......waiting to see if it is a campaign issue and if it is Jewish votes in the fall. Right now might be the best bet for the Palestines to get homeland with GWB or a Obama win. But having Hamas endorse you is not conductive to getting a win. At least on the West Bank. If McCain wins, he is not commited to making one happen from what I read today.
You must read media releases only from Kos and Huffington Post, Opal. Try the AP or CNN...I am not saying go totally to the right here. Saying balance it out some.

Here are the reasons why it is a great place for a debate.
Soldier's vote....they are key part to our National Security...they are then men and woman that they next President will lead....Iraq is a critical aspect to our war on terrorism......Soldiers at such a debate are totally free to speak thier mind in the question session....it is not duty assignment.....rather is a political and educational function of attendance of their own choice.......they are Americans that Obama has not addressed in 15 month of campaigning......he has yet to make an appearance on a military base.....they might wish to ask him about 'why' his 'no vote' on the war...... they might wish to ask him about 'why quit' when they are close to finishing the mission....they might wish to ask him about why to deploy large force deployments to Afghanistan......they might wish to ask him many things Dude that a potential Commander in Chief needs to tell his troops.
I will clue you in, Dude. The American soldier is unlike any other on planet earth. He asks most often only one simple question. That is 'why'. A leader that answers that question....be it on a mission, on a operation, on a major matter of importance....can win them over. They have and will follow him anywhere. This question of 'why' has been asked in our military since the days of the revolution war. George Washington had it asked at Valley Forge to him. Ike had it asked of him prior to D-Day in Europe. Other militaries see this question being asked as insuborination and punish it. Here we embrace it to a large degree if asked respectfully, because often it saves men's lives in combat. Every man and woman that has been in a leadership role in the miltiary.....has had it asked of him one time or another.
If Barak cannot or will not answer it....he doesnot deserve to be thier Commander in Chief. The green zone is a great place for a debate on National Secuirty matters. It brings both debaters into a reality of war and makes them honest before these men and women. You cannot fool a private that just had his buddy killed in a IED attack. You cannot treat lightly a sargeant that just had a man die in his arms. You cannot side track a junior grade officer on his 3rd tour there with a family here. They deserve some honesty from both Obama and McCain. This is a great place,time,way to get it.

GWB in his meeting with Abbas....just said he is 100% in support of a Palestine country. That has been his position along, Opal. He wants them to have a homeland with borders. They just seem to want to attack Israel when ever they get a chance.
Abbas also said he sees peace before the end of 2008 at least for Fatah on the west bank. Seems to me there is something shaking and baking in the middle east on peace accords. Be nice to have yes? Also nice to have at least one faction of the Palestines with a homeland of borders.

My feeling on Teddy Kennedy medical issue. I wish him well and a fast recovery. My politics is is not the same. But the Kennedy family has given our country much. He has made mistakes, but who has not?

Iraqi operations around Mosul have netted some suspected 1068 AlQeada.
The Iraqi Gov't weapon turn in program is bearing results, weapons from persons that have not killed are being accepted and cash rewards are being paid.
According the US Central Command, 'this was the last AlQeada stronghold in Iraq.' The operation was done primarily by the Iraqi Defense Force (IDF).
Further military operations of Iraqi forces are being conducted on the border towns and cities with Syria.
Sadyr city in Baghdad is quiet with Iraqi and American forces reoccuping positions with in it.
Some of my thoughts on the 3 day Hezbollah attacks in Lebanon.
One has to ask himself 'why' occupy sections of southern Beruit for only 3 days to give back control of the city areas to the Lebanese gov't and military. This is what Hezbollah did. My analysis would be the following:
1. Hezbollah resources of funding, manpower and weapons is low. That the French peace keepers have been doing a good job in intridiction of weapons from Syria/Iran. That international funding sources for Hezbollah is falling. Lastly that Hezbollah manpower that might have gone elsewhere in the middle east, has reduced the manpower it has within Lebanon. Is it anyone more than another? I don't know. Likely a combination of all three reasons.
2. Hezbolah did not want to get into a siege fight like AlQeada did in Tripoli several months ago with the Lebanese Army. If they stay in the areas of Southern Beruit, the Lebanese Army would eventually brought in heavy weapons to displace them. Would have sealed off the areas. It would have been a defeat in Lebanon for Hezbollah.
Also this.
Hezbollah has not fired many rockets into Northern Isreal since the French peace keeping force were deployed. Another indication that French peace keeping is effective.
Good things for two troubled countries in the middle east.

Way: No monitors or pre screen questions. Face to face debate in front of 2000+ American men and women in service in Iraq with 200 leading Iraqi leaders in attendance. Broadcast live back to the US. 40 minute of open face to face debate. 20 minute of open questions from those in attendance, including Iraqi leaders.
If Barak wants to have a honest debate on National Security issues, what better place to have it? Before the men and women he would lead if elected President. If Barak thinks that wars are won and lost with words with foreign gov't leaders, then his telling this to men and women that daily face IEDs, sniper fire, motars, and other dangers seems some how fair to me.
Also seems fair to me that he address these Iraqi leaders. That are counting on American assistance to make the country work. He wants to do a withdrawal to 65,000 and only chase AlQeada in Iraq. Fine maybe they have a few questions as well for him. To reduce funding to this effort, let him answer thier questions.
Maybe we can get some people from Afghanistan to attend as well. Both of our forces there and from the Karisi gov't. They might have a few issues to talk with either of the canidates.
This would be the most watched debate that they would have.

Actually there are several proposals to shorten in down now. After the Democratic party display of democracy this last 18 months.....most here are tiring and saying enough. Likely shorten down the process by 6-8 months.
My other questions would be does your definition of 'all the rest of civilized nations' include the following...Iran, Zimboway, Syria, North Korea, Gaza (post Hamas control)...because if it does, I am happy to have the US excluded from your definition of civilized.
Finally what would you consider more important issue.......this is only involves the leadership of a super power with nuclear weapons that is in two conflicts in the world. Does that rate in your top 20 of issues? top 10 issues? top 5 issues? Gets right up at the top of the list when worded in that manner, yes?
