Life was so much better as a child growing up in the 1960's than it is today.
Trying a whole word acrostic style.....
no one can take our dreams or memories.......
Someone whose mother is in her 90's keeps asking me how I dealt with the death of my mother. You don't - you just go on the best you can. August 5th will be the 9th Anniversary of my mother's death. You can grief also at a lost love or other losses in your life as well. I get comfort through writing my poems as well as my faith and - of course my CS poet friends!
Bonus points for those that can work out tbe meaning
Wrote this one day during yet another network outage, we'd been having a lot of them at that time, and this one lasted a while.

Author notes I normally overlook people who are rude enough to expect you to change your poem to suit them, however, the last one spent over 470 words telling me how to re-write my poem to suit what she wanted to read ... so sometimes this is what is in a poets mind

Brownings poem seems to lose focus after the word reach, and only gets back on track in the last sentence in my opinion. Who am I to critique Elizabeth Barrett Browning? Who is Leonard Maltin to critique George lucas?

This is a true story. My grandparents didn't have much money when they first started their lives together, so he gave her a baling wire ring. She wore it for years. He gave her a diamond ring when they were living and working in Africa after the kids had grown and had families of their own.. He kept his promise to her and she trusted him with all her heart and soul. They had a love that I hope is being emulated today. :)
