I wrote this poem after breaking up with a girl friend after living together for three years. One day it ended suddenly and knew it would not the same again.
This was just my try at a story poem. I hope you enjoy. Thanks!

"It is sometimes very difficult to love that special someone ~ and yet not be able to be with them all of the time."
What evil lurks in the mind of men! The Shadow knows! He cometh!
In a world full of harsh realities we need to praise love

Some moments seem so special you never want them to end.
Reflections on the stillness of spring morning in upper Appalachia
There was a women called Calista Taft who was born on April 12, 1832 at Huntington, Vermont. I am relating the feeling of an attraction to just 'her name', one of the most beautiful names I have ever heard.
I wrote this poem for my penpal
This I wrote several years ago for dear friends and gave framed as a wedding gift. It is still hanging in their foyer.
This is what I was thinking about when waiting for your call.
Footnote THE FARMER'S FOLLY One of the most imposing reminders of the Percy family in Alnwick is an eighty three feet high Percy Tenantry Column which is known locally as the Farmers Folly. The column designed by the Newcastle architect David Stephenson was constructed in 1816 and lies close to the southern end of the street called Bondgate-Without. It is one of the first sights to greet the visitor to Alnwick from the south. Legend is that the second Duke of Northumberland (a Percy) lowered the rents of his agricultural tenants by twenty-five per cent to help them through the period of agricultural depression which followed the Napoleonic Wars. It is said that the tenants were so grateful to the Duke that they erected the great column in his honour - topped of course by a stone statue of the famous Percy Lion which had been the emblem of the Percy family for centuries. But the story is that the Duke, far from showing gratitude for the monument to his honour was more interested in the fact that his tenants had been able to raise the money for the monument. His reaction was to raise their rents once again - the story is however only a legend.
I posted this as an answer to a thread, just thought to share, so it could be read.
I watched as the sun set tonight. It reached a point where it seemed that day time wanted to hold night time. Night time removed all the shadows and day time seized to be. Tomorrow the queen will rise once more to claim the day time as hers. It will be the moon who will then bow to the sun and the circle of life will continue.
No words are needed. It has all been said before. Standing here....face to face once more. My hearts pounding taking me to another place. Your so close the scent of you is a familiar taste. Lips lingering not hurrying just biding their time.
every morning... a new start..
The cause of joy must have been the poet's dearest friend, a buddy, a soulmate, a beloved, to whom bidding farewell could have produced a great stress and depression, so abysmally deep that he does not even remember who or what the cause of his broken spirit is. His poetry is permeated with the deepest melancholy, despondency, depressed state, and thoughts of death. Here are links to his poem Memento Mori - the poem itself with English translation (which is not mine) and a video with the recital of the poem. Thank you very much for your interest. This blessed Corner brings world poetry to the attention of audience prepared to read, listen and enjoy it! http://courses.washington.edu/dtcg/texts/data/tg/memento_mori.html https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=16DIrXXYqcM
