No Drink Left For Me

No Drink Left For Me

You leave a trail of tears where ever you go. Of a love not meant to be. You are closed..... no way in. There will be no changes in how you feel. You say this love is holding you against your will. But it's you that's holding on. With a heart

Being a fool

Being a fool

This is written by a very good friend of mine. I thought it's very interestingly beautiful and I'd love to share it. I'm learning so much from this friend and I know I'm blessed to swim in his world.

MINERS SOUL

MINER'S SOUL

I'm a native West Virginian. There were many miners in our clan. When mechanized mining and mountain top removal replaced human hands for extracting coal, West Virginia fell into a recession that is still apparent today.

CS Poetry Corner

I posted my first piece here on CS Poetry Corner in June 2013. There was a great camaraderie among the poets then and the subsequent years. It was a wonderful feeling that inspired other poets and myself in our writing. I have written this piece in honour of those days. It was inspired and motivated by the song: “Those Were The Days” by Mary Hopkins https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y3KEhWTnWvE

They That Love

I read these words in a "Love" comic book when I was an adolescent. In the story, two young people fell deeply in love and were blissfully happy. The girl found an antique cup on which she saw the first part of these words written: "They that Love Must expect to Weep" She showed it to the boy and they both made fun of the writing, saying that their love was so strong and beautiful that such a thing could never happen to them. Sure enough, they had some misunderstanding which led to their break-up, heartbreak and tears. Eventually, they made up and experienced a deeper feeling of love. Later that the girl realized that there was some more writing on the other side of the cup: "For Tears are Rain That make the Heart Grow Fonder". It was only then that they realized the true meaning of what was written. (This is my message to our beloved "Love Poets" who seem to be having a bad spell at present).

As Constant as The Sun

As Constant as The Sun

Some people come into our lives their soul effect is that they help us to realize how transient so many things can be. But, Darlin' that's not true of you and me. Sometimes I look into your eyes and marvel at the crossroads in our lives. Wha

Tears Kissed Away

Tears Kissed Away

I was insprired by recent poems I've read here and some thoughts about what I want and past relationships that have failed. I believe I have entered a new phase of my life and will NOT settle for less than, ever again. None of us are perfect, granted. To seek perfection is foolish, but to have what we need is not.

Quotes from Horror Movies

I've seen all of these many times, when there is a movie with more than one release, I gave the original date, the original Hitcher was released in 1986. I would have watched it, but Netflix discontinued their dvds through the mail, something I have had since 2011.

Just incase... the world should end. I've made a few friends, Some relationships came and went. Some, endured to the very end. Other relations could not mend. No animosity, to any of them. It's just life, how things begin & sometimes end.

I have seen the problem and it is us

I have seen the problem, and it is us

This is poetic rendering of an article from Washington post, which impressed me very much. You may have not read it, so this here poem may draw your attention to the problems, of which we are the culprits mostly through indifference, callousness, lack of faith (The Washington Post, "I have seen the problem, and it is us" By Tom Ehrich| Religion News Service, Published: November 21). All the long time I’ve been away I’ve followed, dear poets, your progress on this site with admiration. Thank you!

Glove

The author is a remarkable Russian symbolist poet of the beginning of the 20th century Nikolai Gumiliov. In 1921 he was shot by the revolutionary government on the charge of taking part in a counterrevolutionary plot. But in reality he died due to refusal to divulge information about the plot. His wife – an outstanding Russian poet Anna Akhmatova - wrote in despair: My husband's in grave, My son is in cell, I plead you to pray for me, pray.

EVERY SKY IS A NEW SKY

EVERY SKY IS A NEW SKY

Blowing through heaven and earth, and in our hearts and the heart of every living thing, is a gigantic breath—a great Cry—which we call God. Plant life wished to continue its motionless sleep next to stagnant water, but the Cry leaped up within it and violently shook its roots: “Away, let go of the earth, walk!” Had the tree been able to think and judge, it would have cried, “I don’t want to. What are you urging me to do! You are demanding the impossible! But the Cry, without pity, kept shaking its roots and shouting, “Away, let go of the earth, walk!” Animals appeared--worms--making themselves at home in water and mud. "We're just fine here," they said... But the terrible Cry hammered itself pitilessly into their loins. "Leave the mud, stand up, give birth to your betters!"... And lo! after thousands of eons, man emerged, trembling on his still unsolid legs... He has been fighting, again for thousands of eons, to draw himself, like a sword, out of his animalistic scabbard. He is also fighting--this is his new struggle--to draw himself out of his human scabbard. Man calls in despair, "Where can I go? I have reached the pinnacle, beyond is the abyss." And the Cry answers, "I am beyond. Stand up!" -Kazantzakis

This election has been a lot of fun, but also frustrating. Who to pick? All I know is I've never regretted voting third party. I voted for Ross Perot in 96, Ralph Nader in 2000, and Gary Johnson in 2012.
