~At 40 Below~

Dam it's sure a cold place to be, socks slippers fully dressed an a throw, fireplace cracklin an jack frosted window panes. The snow's in squeak mode, with your foot or a tire an even foot of a mouse. It's even a place on the thermometer two converge. Farenheit an celsius chill for a while, at 40 below they share that same place. Warmer or colder to each other can't keep pace. Pull up the blankets another log on the fire. Nights colder than ice, tuck in the toes an let 40 below be as it may~

Sol satisfied

unnerved synaptic society
uplifting and touching
all hedonism and piety
leaning on and clutching

seeing all of either ends
here before the soliloquy
all the praying and pretends
chained to being set free

carried in the heavy flesh
the mantra of life was cried
some stable nativity crèche
mined exploded as empathy died

yielding profit of prophecy
father to brother to sister
branching out of family tree
hands to ring we kissed her

what may come to creed or race
these rounded days do explain
all men, women face-to-face
know only love can sustain

Porch Light Burning- A Toast For 2012

When your mountain trail is long and daunting
And your spirit is feeling cold and wanting;
Like a far away flicker of firefly light,
Or Polaris, bright, in the high dark night.

There's a glow that seems to guide you homeward bound
And bids you welcome without sound;
It shines it's light for your safe return,
The porch light waits with patient burn.

When your steep trail tumbles to the valley floor
May you ride to the light at your front door.

Just some simple words...

Words are about as durable
As campfire smoke
Scattered by breezes
As quick as they're spoke.

Yet, when captured by the dewdrops
As cobwebs of rhyme
Some words turn to diamonds
Preserved for all time.

Warm Christmas Greetings Everyone

I've checked off, purt near, all the days of the year
From the calendar there on the wall;
Outside here, it's snowing and winter is showing,
That it's close on the heels of the Fall.

The leaves have come down, save the oaks which are brown
All the asters are withered and bare;
This morning at dawn, there was ice on the pond,
And the temperature's dropping out there.

Inside here, it's warm and we don't fear the storm
We've a chuck box so full it won't shut;
There's a big stack of wood and the fire feels good,
To the Mr. and me, and his mutt.

The stock's all been fed and the children put to bed
So we'll sit here awhile I suppose;
We'll review the past year, while we laugh at our fear,
And rejoice in the life that we chose.

It's said Christ was born on a cold winter morn
In a stable with cattle and sheep;
So we're thankful today for things He would say,
And the promise we know He will keep.

When the winter wind whines through the pinon pines
And stirs up the snows of December;
We'll thank God for His Son, all the good things He's done,
And the family and friends we remember.

As the New Year Roles In

As the new year roles in.
May you find yourself in a brandnew light and not have your patience
wearing too thin.
The last year was a real duezey for some of us and me.
Hope we can learn from the past and work on the now as we are
supposed to be.
For only if the things we been working on can truly come true.
Then todays tomorrow can see us through.
With good intentions and alot of great choices that we have made
for ourselves.
Shall we be better people this new year with very good friends and
help.
Yesterday is gone to the things that are now in the past.
Let yesterday be a reminder that we can still laugh.
There are some who think that this new year will be our end.
Just know I think there are very wrong because 2012 is going to be
a year we can tell them about, even if some are lost again.
WOO HOO YEAH HAWWW!!!!!!!!!!
Happy New Year

Juggling at the Badger Camp Telethon

I have just finished another year performing on
The Wisconsin Badger Camp Telethon
I juggled to various songs over the years
In 2001 I juggled while talking and sang
Tom Lehrer's A Christmas Carol
In 2002 I juggled to Charlie Daniel's Devil Went Down To Georgia
In 2003 it was MC Hammer's Can't Touch This
In 2004-2005 I did Barry Manilow's I Write the Songs and
Weekend in New England
In 2008 I did Wierd Al Yankovic's Couch Potato
A parody of Eminem's Lose Yourself
In 2009 I juggled to Van Halen's Jump and Right Here Right Now
In 2011 I did Wierd Al Yankovic's Eat It
A parody of Michael Jackson's Beat It
And Fat
A parody of Michael Jackson's Bad
2012 was Don't You Forget About Me and Alive and Kicking
By Simple Minds
This year was New Kids on the Block with The Right Stuff
and Hangin Tough
I have also collected autographed pictures of celebrities auctioned
Ed McMahon, Casey Kasem, and Jim Carrey
The Camp gives disabled kids and adults a place to enjoy fun activites
Fishing, camping, painting, games, etc.

About this poem:
I was having a hard time remembering all the performances, there have been 11 so far. I was told this would be the last year for it due to lack of student help. I hope they are wrong. I enjoy the talent shows more than anything else on the show. My favorite so far was a girl dancing to Betty Boop, she was spot on.

Monster Ash

Frankenstein, Dracula, and their friend Lurch
Decided one day to go to church
They found intriguing the things they'd hear
The phrase body and blood
That really caught their ear
The blazing candles make Frankie nervous
The crucifix distracted Drac from the service
On top of that they didn't realize
It was Ash Wednesday
On to their surpise
They got the ash
They got the monster ash
The monster ash
They gave them out at mass
The monster ash
Right after Mardi Gras
The monster ash
They got the monster ash
It turned out to be a miraculous day
The three all repented and changed their ways
Dracula gave up sucking for Lent
If the Chicago Cubs did it
That would be an event
They got the ash
They got the monster ash
The monster ash
They wore them with panash
The monster ash
Lurch went back and asked for a mustache
They got the ash
They got the monster ash
Drac, you got something on your forehead
Let me get it
No, it's a smudge
Look in the mirror
No, you can't look in the mirror

About this poem:
This song is a parody of Monster Mash by Tim Cavanaugh. With Ash Wednesday starting the Easter holiday, I thought it was a funny parody.

A Blink Of A Eye

The new year has come
and the old year come
to a close.
What a bang it came
in with.
Did you make gaols
for this year?
Did you make resolutions?
Watch the ball drop.
Enjoy the count down.
This is a new beginning.
A clean slate is set
out in front of you.
Aim for dreams that were
once deeply buried.
May this new year bring
many adventures that will
challenge you this year.

2013 is at its end
days and words gone
I celebrate alone
it is quiet
quiet is good...

I light a candle.

What the New Year will bring
I do not know
only God knows
my life for Him to know

I cannot know.

Whatever I did was wrong
this I know
whoever I met to forget
I know

Everything was for love.

Love is why I'm here
love is why I believe
anything can be achieved in life
New Years most glorious light

is sweet hope
2013 is gone
dead is the year...
