My Happy New Year Wishes For You

I wish for all CS poets a happy new year
May 2013 be a year filled with joy and cheer
Certainly there will be a few scares and tears
But the Gods won’t give anyone more than he can bear
Take time to hug and kiss the one you hold dear
Those that can and have time to spare
Share with a friend a jug of beer cheers

May you from time to time go out and dine
Never forgetting the difference made by a bottle of wine wine
Seeking good for others may you always be inclined
And with the ones aspiring to reach the stars yourself align
May you never to hopelessness and despair ever resign?
Always expecting your endeavors to be a gold mine
May 2013 be a year that turn out just fine

Oh Christmas Tree

snowman2

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree
How your paths have enlightened me
You were just a seed to one day sprout
Then take me to higher places without a doubt
I saw you all alone, but standing tough
So I brought you here and I lit you up
You kept me in spirit all these lonely nights
With your star above always shining bright
Filling me with beauty beyond our skies
Into greener planes and Northern Lights
Bringing Christmas joy into my home
That soon will fill with cheerful tone
But for now we'll go back inside
Because my family just arrived
And when they put their gifts beneath that other tree
Just remember it will always be only you and me

Holiday Wishes To You And Yours

Holiday Wishes To You And Yours

When the first true cold winds began to blow,
autumn soon shifted, and the first frost came.
Complaints for summer’s end were often heard,
but the year went by too fast, all the same.

So time to unpack the cold weather gear,
and yes, turn our thoughts to the holidays.
We all shall gather around the table,
to count our blessings these past weeks and days.

There’ve been challenges for many of us.
We bow our heads for each answered prayer.
We share and we speak to those we have lost.
We set a place for those who can’t be here.

May we raise a glass and offer good cheer.
May we light a candle and not forget,
all the dear ones who make life worth living.
And so speak with kindness and not regret.

May we all join hands and then our hearts,
never letting go of the peace we feel.
This is the season of faith and magic;
the LOVE we share and a God blessed meal.

A time to ponder all that is sacred;
the condition of our beliefs and soul.
A time to forgive and release with joy,
all that would prevent us from being whole.

Thank you Lord for every single blessing.
My life is a gift you hold in your hand.
When I have done what I am meant to do,
I will walk with you and I’ll understand.

Bless Us All That We Walk In Love
Ever Hand In Hand

Easter Eggs

You start with cold water in a pan
Add your eggs carefully
Cover the eggs with water about an inch above all the eggs
Bring the eggs to a boil and remove from the heat
Let the eggs stand in the hot water for 15 minutes
Take the eggs and put them in cold water till cooled
Drain the eggs and let them dry on a towel for about an hour
Put the eggs in the fridge
The next day you get six coffee cups
Put some vinegar in the bottom, about 1/4 inch deep
Take food coloring and add to each cup to get desired colors
Add water to each cup so eggs will be completely covered
Red, Yellow, Blue
Red and Yellow to get Orange
Yellow and Blue to get Green
Red and Blue to get Purple
A total of about 24 drops per cup
You can add different amounts to get different colors
22 drops of yellow and three drops of red gives you an orange sunset
Put eggs into dye for four minutes
Move the eggs around with Paas wire egg dipper
Let dry for an hour
There are some different ways you can dye eggs
Put rubber bands around egg
Dye half the egg in one color and half in the other color
Draw egg with crayons before dying
Put stickers on eggs before dying to create shapes on eggs
Use a plastic bowl you can throw away and add water
Use different colors of fingernail polish to water
Move them around with a toothpick
Add an egg to get a swirly pattern onto the egg
Eat the eggs up within a week after coloring
Enjoy!

About this poem:
Colored my Easter eggs yesterday. Enjoy making them every year. I get a Betty Jane hollow bunny every year with Peeps, Cadbury eggs, and jelly beans. When I was a child I would save my chocolate bunny in the freezer and shave off some of the chocolate with a knife to make it last a long time.

A Christmas Wish

Embedded image from another site

It's Christmas time once again
and if you only knew,
that my Christmas wish
is to spend the time with you.

Making out my Christmas list
placing it under the tree,
wishing for you is all I want
to be a Christmas gift for me.

The lights don't shine as bright
I turn into the Scrooge,
needing you on this silent night
to snuggle in the softest candle light!

One More Candle

Make a wish, make a wish
I know my heart have the list
Close your eyes, raise a pray
Thanking God for this blessing day

Sing the song, fill up the air
My beloved friends are here to share
Blow the candle, now you stare
The bright future just like a flare

Closed For Thanksgiving

Why are the stores open Thanksgiving?
Don't they care?
Thanksgiving is for family
Not greed
Not 8 PM sales
Thanksgiving is for football
Thanksgiving is for floats
Spiderman, Snoopy, Charlie Brown
Shame on you Pizza Hut for firing that manager
All he wanted was his employees to have a day with their families
Shame on you Walmart and the rest
You don't need to start this Black Friday till Friday
I already did my shopping on November 1
So I could relax and enjoy the holiday
Singing Christmas songs, lighting my tree, and eating too much
Please
I'm begging you all
Put up those old signs
Closed For Thanksgiving

About this poem:
I remember that it used to be that the only businesses that were open for Thanksgiving were gas stations, and that was it. No grocery stores, department stores, or resturants were open on Thanksgiving so the workers could at least have two days off a year.

HAPPY NEW YEAR
i'm sick of it to the teeth
isnt the ending of a year sad
or is that just me.

fireworks going off
people cheering in the street
behaving like crazed monkies
not a fine sight to be seen.

whats with everyone
have all gone daft in the head
BIG DEAL,another year begins
another one ends.

granted, at least we live to see it
whilst others have not
so i lift a glass in memory
to them, this year we lost.

well,im retiring to my warm room
iv no exciting plans on
but im happy enough to do that
watch a movie and munch on popcorn.

but aghhh my rooms been hijacked
by my adult kids & partners
so its back to me to my cold kitchen
it simply is not fair

but alas,as true as god is my witness
it will happen in 2012
they will all move out,but if not
then il do so myself.

now that iv had my wee rant
il not dampen the cheer
and if not later
then il see ye all next year.

Terrance the Turkey

Hello, my name is Terrance the Turkey
Can you do me a huge favor?
Please don't have turkey this Thanksgiving
I don't want to wake up Thanksgiving morning
With my head cut off and stuffing shoved up my butt
There are a lot of great alternatives
Ham is a good choice
For all you hunters out there
Vension is a great choice
Steak is always a winner with friends and family
For all you vegetarians out there
They make a fake turkey called tofurkey
Made entirely out of soybeans and other nonmeat additives
As far as pumpkin pie
It does contain eggs
I'm ok with that
They're chicken eggs!

About this poem:
The Bob and Tom Show inspired this, they have a bit called Tom Turkey, Standup Comedian. One of his jokes, A wife walks into the kitchen and catches her husband engaged in a lacivious act with a dead turkey, the exhausted husband looks up and says, "How am I doing Honey?" The wife shakes her head and says, "No, no, no, I told you to pluck the bird!"
