Senryu

swing under a tree
the river flows on downstream
here lies good balance

A morning with birds
harvesting the light of day
life above the ground

Heaven

Heaven
It is a place we all want to go
I asked a priest once
When I die is it a long trip toward the bright light of heaven?
He said no
When you die it will be revealed to you
What you could not see, you will see
But
You have to remember
Heaven is not a place
It is God
I think of this conversation from time to time
Who is my heaven?
Who are the people who have made me happy?
I think if we can do that
Bring happiness to the people we meet
We can be angels on earth
And be heaven for others

About this poem:
Warrant's song Heaven was a song I sang for karaoke last night, it got a standing ovation, as it is a hopeful song. The album it comes from has one of my favorite, a fat rich man with money for hair coming out behind his ears, gold and silver rings on each hand, and a cigar made out of a dollar bill.

Short and sweet!

You need to ask questions or you will never know what road to take, which way to go, so observe and learn to find your way, but be yourself, come what may!

A question of difference!

What's the difference, between life and existence? If I shoot myself in the head, do I spend the rest of my life dead? Is that impossible? An illusion? or a Cotard delusion?
Do we exist because we are alive?, or are we alive just because we exist?
Now quantum mechanics finds it so...it does not matter where we go,. the quantum superposition is not a superstition, it shows where we are at, its, well, Schrödinger's cat.
Ok?

I am!

So, I'm an old oak tree, frostbitten, snowed over, windswept and left to be be!.. Seen and then forgotten. BUT young elves have played at my feet, swong from my arms, lovers lost in bliss, underneath my leaves, held in my arms, but they did not know, ,,,,,,that I know, that I am!

WOMAN

Woman, rise up and assert your power
For generations you have been suppressed
Let the world know this is your hour
There are certain issues to be addressed

In dealing with areas of dispute
You tend to be much more tolerant
Making you more likely to find the truth
And well suited for management

You have shown in the field of education
Regardless of the area of learning
You can hold your own against men
Yet workplace equality is lacking

Woman, rise up and assert your power
For generations you have been suppressed

A little tune

And when your roaming
far, far from the center line
as everyone does
on the steep incline
from time to time
and its all falling like snow
falling like snow round and down
troubles run like the deer
out on the edge of town
I heard him sing,
"Don't let your days desert you
let not the hurt recruit you
it will all pass away, pass away
as those ancient days have come and gone
not for a sailor to silence
the mermaid's song
who am I, who am I, who am I
to know what makes paradise"

Senryu

caught in the moment
reflection in a window
who covets their time

It's a sad sad song
beyond all hope of appeal
holding your photo

stealing from Dylan:

Along the watchtower
all the women came and went
princes kept the view

Miles Davis

bottle black
like Miles
sketching Spain
somewhere
back in the files
I dwell some

Kind of Blue
came on true
listless days
JazzFM plays
London fun
England 1991

I bought Tutu
'86 when he blew
sounds of the street
tapping them feet
not quite the same
'60 was top of his game
